Chereads / The Atlantean Compensator / Chapter 2 - Break the Cycle

Chapter 2 - Break the Cycle

Guiado says in a soothing voice, "Sit down, Herald."

Guiado smiles for a moment after looking at Herald's face and commented, "That eye on your forehead suits you well as i expected."

Herald: "So it is real!!! What is the meaning of this Guiado!??

I am afraid that i'll lose my mind today..."

While Herald looks very exhausted and frightened, Giuado has this great grace and comfort aura arround him, as if he had seen and expected all of this.

Guiado: "Tell me Herald, what was it that you've seen in your dream about last night?"

Herald: "Where shall i begin, before i tell you what my dream was about.

I have to inform you that i must have dreamt about something similiar the night before, but when i woke up i could barely recall anything from it, the dream i had last night was a clearer version and a complete one. I dreamt of ..i dont even know what to call him, it looked to me as if he was an Egyptian God, allthough he never mentionned himself to be, called Thoth..."

Before Herald could complete his discourse,

Giuado interrupted him.

"You have to adress Thoth with more respect the next time you gonna mention him, Herald..."

Herald, hearing the words of Guiado. Didn't know how to respond and decided to complete telling his dream.

"...I dreamt that i reached alongside him the seventh heaven, there we passed 5 years of which he teached me a lot of what he called the wisdom of the Atlantean, when he was about to set me back he told me that i was bestowed great powers..."

Guiado interrupted Herald and completed his sentence, "That little men have had since his grandfather came to this earth"

Herald, with a surprising look said "...So, i assume you've had a similar dream to mine?"

Giuado, "To some degree, yes. It took you a long time to get to this point Herald. You must be asking yourself.

What is my relation with all of this?

Why did i ask you to read the book years ago?

At some point i thought you werent a chosen one. I am today happy that you joined me, and all the Atlanteans."

Herald isn't yet convinced about what Giuado is saying, and still has tons of questions in his mind...

Herald: "..B.But you still didn't answer any question i have!??

Why do i have this eye on my forehead?

Is this some kind of prophecy that you're talking about?

Guiado: "Well you see.." Before Giuado could complete his words, Herald continues on

"NO...THIS IS NOT REAL!! It must be a dream, or a coma ??

Maybe i had an accident and this is all a big dream my mind is making me go into...

Suddenly Herald stops talking, and sits down again.

It was not because he wanted to, he felt he was controlled and willed to do so.

Guiado, with his eyes closed, using a superior tone declares "...What you're feeling now is my power. I have the power to Reverse Will. This can only work when the other person's will is totally against my own. I think this is enough to proove that this is no dream or illusion. Acting so out of character is something i wasn't accustomed to when it comes to you Herald."

Herald regains his will. And unlike moments ago, he got rid of his frightenned look.

He looked... interested?

Guiado: So i was saying, and i assume that Thoth told you this himself.

We are the Atlanteans, descendants of the first men on this planet. Men that unlike today, are closer to godly status than humanly ones. I am sure that you know by now Atlantis wasn't a myth. I know you like reading about history and conspiracies, i dont blame you for never taking it very seriously, but you took it seriously enought to reach this point. The Point of No Return: Mute Reqiuem."

Herald: "I see.. I will stop acting like an oblivious person. In fact i wasn't really out of character, it was a mix of acting and doubt. You're right Guiado, I've read enough to know that this isn't some stupid nonesense, you know well how i loved to listen to, what everyone thought at the time some crazy drunk talk. I've been waiting since then for a point where i could phisically feel what i felt spiritually. I guess this is it."

Guiado, "It is. I don't think i will be of any use for you at the near future after hearing this."

Herald, "No, you will be. Accepting my current situation doesn't mean i am fully aware of what i got myself into."

Guiado, "Part of accepting your situation, is knowing your situation by yourself. Trust my words.

However, i'll be contacting you from afar, if you needed any help just think of me, i'll be there."

Herald was still confused, but he had no other choice other than buying what Guiado is saying, Herald is well aware that the latter is far advanced in his understanding of the situation than he is..

Herald, "Alright, i never felt as pressured as i should be in many situations of my life. I hope this will stay applied. "

Giuado, "Before i depart, i want to tell you that no one other than Atlanteans are able to see or feel your eye. you dont have to worry about that. What you'll have to worry about is discovering what it is for."

Herald, "Oh thank god, it made me look even uglier than my Acne used to do to me back in the day"

Before Herald noticed, Guiado is already gone...

"He's...Gone! OH NO!!..I didn't tell him about how i lived two days in one....But again,

he probably wouldn't answer that either"

Guiado, "I dont know."

Guiado appears out of nowhere again, which will make Herald jump out of his seat.

Herald, YO WHAT THE HELL?!! Dont scare me like this!!

Guiado, "Elaborate. What do you mean you lived two days in one?"

Herald, "Well... When i told you that i had dreamt about the same thing the night before, the morning i woke up was that of Thursday,21march. Which is the same date of today, but it was yesterday for me. i had ignored what i saw in my first dream as i couldnt re-construct it clearly and spent the whole day at home, learning a buckethead song on guitar, i realized that today was the same date of what i thought was yesterday.

To clarify the situation i tried playing the song i learnt, only to find out..I dont know its notes..."

Guiado for the first time now, looks a bit uneasy, and says worriedly "This is surprisingly escaping my knowledge of the Atlanteans. For the moment, you'll have to ignore this and continue on your journey. If i ever found an explanation regarding this, i'll inform you."

Guiado again disappears, as if he had never been there.

It's not like he's teleporting or going beyond the speed of light.

He just, disappears...

Herald, "...So Even he doesn't know, how intriguing!! I have a chance then to find out something he hasn't, that would feel good if became true. But seriously,

Where do i start? What shall i do?"

In a moment like this, one would never think of something like mangas and what kind of storylines they use. For some reason, Herald thought of all the great fantasy and mystery mangas he had read in his life, and how the only way to discover the newly given power is to set a journey outside. So he decided he should go out and just wonder, even when having no direction.

And as he opens the door again,

He... Could not believe his eye...
