Chapter 1 - Chapter One

'A legend existed in the lands of Velriora kingdom, where a prince fell in love with the Goddess of All Creation, Vera. At that time, it was the era of wars and conflict between every kingdom in the continent of Cenrae. For years, many fought for territories and some fought for power, all in the name of their greed.

The crowned prince was appointed by the king to lead the army to war and he achieved great victories, making the kingdom powerful. But all wars were stopped when the news about the birth of the demon king appeared. Oracles from different kingdoms were given a vision about the destruction of the continent, and only the divine hero can defeat it. It is said that only the Goddess can appoint the hero by giving them the mark of 'Divinus'.

While the kingdoms were searching, a hero was already chosen without their knowledge. Before the visions were even given to the oracles, the Goddess already gave her mark to none other than Velriora's crowned prince.

None of the continent's people knew that their Goddess descended not long after the wars started, had a fateful meeting with the crowned prince and becoming his companion throughout the years of his journey. Things happened unexpectedly when the Goddess and the prince fell in love. Knowing her identity, the prince protected her secret for years. But then the demon king's resurrection appeared and the people knew that the prince was the divine hero.

Following the prophecy, they head on to their journey to slay the demon king, along with their trusted companions. Battles were held, soldiers and demons clashed. Swords, magic, and demonic beasts occurring everywhere. When they reached to their final destination, it was an all-out battle between the hero and the demon king. In the end the demon king was sealed with the help of the goddess' divine power. Peace returned to the kingdoms and the wars were stopped, and a treaty was made. The goddess stayed with the prince and he was crowned king. Years later a prince was born, but when the second child was born the goddess disappeared. No one knew where she went, but the king remained silent. And the second child, the beautiful princess, was sent away and hidden. The people only knew that there was a princess and nothing more…'

"Or so they say." A soft voice murmured.

In a well-lit study, the scent of the newly made tea engulfed the whole room, along with the unique smell of books, the girl felt comfortable whenever she spends time in a place she likes. The peace that kept her company was disrupted when a knock came. Granting the person permission, a maid entered.

"Pardon for my interruption my lady, the Duke has requested your presence in his study." The maid bowed and waited for the lady's response.

"Understood." The lady closed the book she was reading, and proceeded to follow the maid to her father's study.

Walking into the long hallway, the lady's mind still lingered on the book she just read. However, after arriving in front of her father's study, she dismissed the thought. The maid knocked the door, announcing the young lady's arrival.

A voice inside the study granted them permission to enter. And the doors were opened.

A man was seated on a chair behind his desk, hands busy holding the documents on the left, and writing on the papers on the other. His appearance, although engrossed at the moment, showed that he was a fine looking gentleman when he was in his early years. The door was slowly closed as the maid excused herself, the man looked up and saw his daughter. One adult and one little lady stared at each other.

"You called for me Father?" the lady took her seat close to her father's desk without waiting for his signal and took the dessert that was already prepared in advance for her 'pretty convenient'.

Looking at her daughter, the Duke sighed. He can understand her daughter's idle behavior, but thinking that she was so cute back when she was just an energetic baby. Alas a father's dilemma of watching his daughter grow up like this.

"Ah yes, your brother and sister along with your niece and nephew will be coming home for the festival. And they contacted me through the communicator, since they can't get through yours. Farrah, they missed you, at least contact them. You're always reading books in your study all day." Thinking about his two oldest children sulking and complaining because of their sibling, it's giving him headaches 'You two already have children, go gush on them!' He once told them.

"Oh, is it that time of the year already? I never noticed father, I'll be sure to call them." Farrah took a spoonful from the cake, and looked at his father again. "By the way father, where has mother and the twins went this afternoon?"

"Your mother is preparing for the festival since its only three days away from now. And the twins are at the training grounds doing some sparring with the soldiers." The Duke placed the documents on his desk and stood up. "Let's go and visit your brothers."

---

The two both went to the training grounds. Not surprised at the soldiers sprawled on every corner of the ground, some panting while holding their swords as a support. At the distance they can hear two people arguing.

"I've got 23, you lost." A calm looking young man stared at the person opposite to him.

"I'm not! The standing ones don't count!" The other person, who is more spirited, kept on pointing at the soldiers who were still standing. If you count 'leaning on the wall or grabbing the sword as support while looking as if their souls were slipping away' as standing, sure.

"Admit it, you're a sore loser."

"No I'm not!"

The two continued to argue, not minding the mess they have created.

"What are you two doing?"

The arguing was brought to a halt, and the two who were facing each other looked at the person who spoke at the same time.
