My world was gone. All that I had known no longer existed. I had a blessed life, I was part of the Elite Council and was chosen by the gods. I am the last one left. I am the White Horse.
The rest of the Council are dead they were finished off by the murderous humans. I no longer lead an easy life. I barely managed to get away with my life and now I'm holed up in who knows where. I am unable to return because I have to stay alive for our species, but it's slowly killing me. Being unable to fight goes against my nature and it's twisting me a very core.
Although it would be no use to the survival of me and my people. Right now, all I can do is wait and plan things out in order to save the Anduyong. I am not strong enough to face the humans by myself, I will need someone else for my attack. I will need to train them so they are stronger and better than before.
With so few of our people left it will be hard to find a worthy person to help me attack. There are only 1 of the 13 tribes left and I need to find someone loyal, humble, smart, strong, and willing to put their lives in extreme danger for our people. The problem with finding a worthy person is that I am in the middle of the empty lands and not even I know where I am. The person that is worthy should already heading my way because that is the most logical thing to do, this will prove they are smart and intuitive which is a key for a worthy person. Along with that, they need to be strong to get here and show that they are loyal to our people because they would need to put themselves in harm way. I will see if they are humble when they get here but looking at these characteristics it will probably be a woman.
A searing pain suddenly strikes through and I that's when I see the snake. "Crap" I muttered as I slowly pulled my knife out of its scabbard and swung down on the snake. I then quickly address my wound it was slowly dripping blood as I tore of a part of my shirt and wrapped it around my ankle. Thankfully, I had gotten an immunity to most poisons but I shouldn't put pressure on my ankle and that will make it hard to walk. I glance at the dead snake by my side and my teachers lesson flashed through my head had "Even terrors can become a blessing, you just have to use the opportunity". I tore off another piece of my shirt put the fangs of the snake in the cloth and tucked it into my belt.
I stand up as a cool breeze brushes my face and immediately wince as a searing pain hikes up my leg. I limped around until I found a dead tree I grabbed some sticks and headed back to the ruined old cabin and quickly made a fire to warm myself up. When the Elite Council still existed we all had had a special power from one of the 13 gods. I had been given the gift of fire by Erses the god of fire. So making a campfire is a piece of cake when I can easily burn down a whole village.
As the fire warms me up, I gently head to sleep.
I feel the heat beyond my eye lids. I slowly open my eyes and I see fire. I'm back as my 14 year old self and I see the fire that changed my life. That's when I see them, my mother and my father hiding behind the thick smoke. I run towards them but the fire stops me. I can not save them. I watch before my eyes as my parents last breath fades away. I can not save them.
I killed them because this unquenchable fire is my own.
I snap awake in as a cold sweat runs down my back.
The morning breeze whispers of past regrets as it blows on my face. Quickly I stand and start looking around the ruined village for something to do to distract myself from that horrid nightmare.
I scramble around in search for any resources that are left. I stumble in to the town square as a gasp escapes me. There strewn around on the floor were hundreds of dead bodies. Suddenly my stomach twist as I realized this village was not abandoned but its people were taken into death's clutches.
After that gruesome experience I spent a couple of days burying the dead warriors. The most disturbing thing was the dead children's bodies that lay lifeless on the ground for they could have had a bright future but they humans tore it to the ground. I burned the dead human bodies because they were the cause of this masacre of the brave warriors.
When I finished I couldn't get all of the lifeless bodies out of my head. Though there were more pressing concerns mainly my ankle which was starting to swell from the snake bite. Unsurprisingly it did not get better with all of the grave digging. I would need to get some herbs to draw out the infection.
Then suddenly reality hit me hard. No one will find me any time soon and I might die for the lame reason of not having herbs. "No" I mutter out loud I will not give up because this is our peoples last hope. So I can't die I will not allow it.
