Now it is time for my final chapter, at least for a while, since I'm going to focus on my own story idea after this. I've already gotten a few chapter outlines finished, so I can properly plan out this novel. This idea came to me after watching the movie: Hotel Artemis. I had already seen all the John Wick movies and then I thought: What if there was a place like Hotel Artemis in the Wickverse? I felt like that concept was very interesting and wanted to share it with you. Now I admit that the levels of tech are very far apart but it's not outright impossible. We're already starting on organ cloning/printing, and the only other sci-fi tech I saw was the microwave scalpels. But I wanted to expand the tech from just that so I thought about how I would want this to start.
A disgraced former surgeon is killed, either by truck or some other occurrence, and is met with a ROB who offers him a choice: Isekai with some wishes or fade away into nothingness. He picks, you guessed it, to be reincarnated into a new world. Said ROB spins a wheel to choose his new home and it lands on Wickverse. Confused at first but then realizing what this place is, he breathes a sigh of relief as this isn't a deathtrap like Warhammer or Worm. He is then asked what his wishes are and he thinks about what his goal is. He remembers what his passion is, healing, and decides to make wishes based on that. He first wishes for the knowledge of how to build tech from Hotel Artemis, as a way to start this journey. But before he continues, he thinks he should maybe he should get some advanced technology from a series with more danger but not too far off in innovation. So he wishes to learn all tech from Cyberpunk 2077 medical or otherwise, to make sure he is well protected. He is then reminded of another place where immortality is basically commonplace: Altered Carbon. The cortical stacks are capable of containing the sum total of what makes a human, all their memories and their true consciousness. For his final wish, he thought about how he would power his new Hotel, and he felt that maybe Fallout would help in that area, since the technology there was still powered even after literal centuries. He settled on only using the miniaturized nuclear power and medical tech, including chems, for this wish as he already had weapons from Cyberpunk to build and use.
Of course, that's just the series I would pull tech from, but you could use your own like Metal Gear or Elysium. I just felt like mine was a pretty good mix of offensive and supplementary technologies. Plus none of it is extremely advanced like Halo or Mass Effect, and I like the aesthetic of Cyberpunk and Fallout more than those Space-faring series. Now it comes to when this character is dropped in, as that really would limit his interactions with the main players of John Wick. I would vote for sometime before, possibly even having the MC born at the same time as John. Mainly so he has time to build up his supplies and slowly introduce new tech, with protections in place just so nobody can steal from him. I really want him to be the sole producer of this technology, so he has the sole Hotel Artemis in the world. He would also have to join The High Table, so his place can be consecrated similarly to the Continental.
In the same vein as the Original, the MC's Hotel would have rules. First being that the Artemis is neutral ground, any fighting between patients is forbidden and breaking this rule will be punished by revoking membership. Second, no weapons allowed on the premises, if any are found on your person they will be confiscated and returned after your stay has finished. Thirdly, Membership must be paid for full and in advance, failure to do so will result in you not passing the entrance. Fourth, Any Member who compromises the sanctity of the Hotel will have their membership revoked. Fifth and Final, The Rules are non-negotiable and any attempt to do so will be met with punishment. Something along these lines, which are edited versions of rules from the actual Hotel Artemis.
As a suggestion to the one who might end up writing this, I would recommend curing John's wife, Helen. While it might completely remove the cause of John Wick 1, I think having a favor from John would be infinitely more useful to the MC than any plot derailment becoming an issue. Plus, you could flex your writing chops be finding a new reason for the original plot to occur. Such as Helen being kidnapped or attacked, which makes John come out of retirement for revenge.
Now, time for my announcement proper: I'm writing a fan-fiction. This particular one has been stuck in my mind for years at this point, and I did put it in this list of ideas. Not a single one of my ideas have been used at this point so I just decided to do it myself. The name of the fic will be The Gourmand System and utilizes a revised version of the system from that chapter. I'm going to post the chapters first on QQ and maybe later I'll repost them here. I've put a lot of work into this so I'm hoping it will be received well.
