Chapter 68 - Blacklight in Three Settings

I HAVE RETURNED! Actually, I kind of never left, I just couldn't muster up enough motivation to start writing again. So, with my deepest apologies, I bring a new chapter in my fan-fiction ideas. One person suggested ideas for this chapter, Thanks Fellow_Daoist, which were Marvel and Tokyo Ghoul. I'm only going to use one because it's a setting I've never used. Let's start with the Anime/Manga world of Tokyo Ghoul.

Now, I never really watched this series, even though it was popular, because I kind of got burned by popular anime before *ahem* SAO *ahem*. Sorry, I had something in my throat. I do however know some of the basics, like Ghouls are only able to consume human/ghoul flesh and coffee. They have superior speed, strength, and reflexes, as well as built in weapons known as Kagune. Kagune come in 4 types, Ukaku, Kokaku, Rinkaku, and Bikaku. Ukaku Kagune are extremely lightweight, and the users are extraordinarily fast, and tend to use this fact to their advantage, but they also tend to suffer from very low stamina. Kokaku Kagune are dense and unwieldy, but are the most durable of the Kagune. Rinkaku Kagune are among the toughest to kill because of their regenerative abilities, while also holding the title of the strongest Kagune, due to their high damage output, which can even break through the defense of a Kokaku. Finally, the Bikaku Kagune is the most basic one, a jack of all trades type, having a decent strength and speed but not much else.

I'll be going over the Blacklight virus after introductions to all three settings have been finished, so if you just want an overview of those powers, skip to the end. Now, moving on to what the MC's goal is and how they got to the Tokyo Ghoul world. Obviously, to start, there are a couple ways as to how the Blacklight got there. First off, we could make it a combined world, where both Ghouls and Blacklight co-exist. This example would have Alex Mercer as the MC, searching for a way to infect Ghouls because of their already dangerous combat potential, to add to his army. Second idea is, of course, reincarnation, where an avid player of [Prototype] dies and is offered the chance to live once more, with a boon. The MC is allowed a roulette spin to choose a new world to be reborn in, and it lands on Tokyo Ghoul. As a result, he quickly chooses the Blacklight Virus as his gift, to ensure his survival. It's kind of hard to come up with a motivation for the protagonist of an anime/manga I'm not personally invested in but I will press on for you, Fellow_Daoist. I guess taking over the world works? Fucking all the bitches? Anyway, third would be transmigration into the body of either Alex Mercer or James Heller who is then transported to the TG world. Same type of deal for this plot, although you could just have them fuck with canon instead of trying to find an actual goal for them.

For the next World, I had to think about what might have perfect synergy with the Blacklight Virus. And I came up with Guyver, but please just hear me out. The Guyver world has a lot to do with biology, with its Zoanoids, Zoalords, and even the Guyvers themselves all being biological in nature. And what is BLV's specialty? Biological weaponry. Just think of all the new possible Powers for the taking, just by consuming a couple Zoanoids, or by obtaining a Guyver unit. The potential is limitless, since both Guyvers and Zoanoids have a bunch of unique abilities. I'm just imagining Alex Mercer shooting lasers and beams of energy like he's Superman or something. I can see some issues stemming from the interaction between the BLV and the Control Metals of the Guyver Units, which could be a plot point in the story. Maybe, he'll only be able to consume Unit 2 due to its damaged Metal and Units 1 and 3 will be unable to be absorbed because of their full functionality. So as an overview, let's list all the abilities of the Guyvers, as trying to list every single Zoanoid ability will make this too long. Every Guyver has the same powers, so it's much easier to talk about them. All Units grant their wielders enhanced strength, speed and durability, with the added ability to create clones of the user, with the same memories and personality, in the event of their deaths. Their weaponry includes a head laser, which functions by using the excess heat created by the Unit, the Mega-Smasher, which is a particle cannon that can deliver the equivalent power of an atomic bomb, Vibration Globes, which are capable of disintegrating almost anything by vibrating at the object or material's molecular frequency, High Frequency Blades, which if you've played Metal Gear Rising, you'll already have a good idea how they function, cutting through most known materials with a very short range, and finally the Gravity Controller, which enables flight and generating gravitational energy and shaping it into miniature black-hole projectiles capable of crushing anything in the attack known as the Pressure Cannon. The upgrade of the Guyver known as Guyver Gigantic amps everything up to eleven by adding more Vibration Globes, making the HF Blades more flexible and grow to amazing distances, multiplying the power of the Head Beam by fifteen and the Mega-Smasher by a hundred, it also gains the ability to generate force-fields as well as plasma jets to enable high speed flight. All other attributes are boosted by 20 times, and there is one more evolution, called Gigantic Exceed. The Guyver will grow to 52 meters and all its weaponry improves proportionally to its size .

Similarly to Tokyo Ghoul, there are three ways to go about introducing the Blacklight Virus to the Guyver World. First, is to have it evolve naturally, co-existing with the current life of this Earth. Eventually someone, doesn't have to be Alex Mercer, gets infected, granting them all the powers and making them the Patient Zero. The MC proceeds to prove his superiority to the Zoalords and the Guyvers. Next is transmigration, which leads to either Alex Mercer or James Heller being moved mysteriously to this new world filled with biological weapons. Depending on which character you use, their motivations would change, Alex would wipe out humanity along with the Zoanoids and Zoalords, Heller might just kill all of the Zoanoids. The final choice is reincarnation, which is basically identical to the reincarnation idea for Tokyo Ghoul, just switch out that world for this one.

Next up is Naruto, which I know is going to be really complicated to write about how Blacklight would interact with Chakra. But, to make it easier to grasp, let's say they don't interact or interact positively, depending on which route you want to go down. So, I'll give a brief intro into the powers of Naruto. Starting with how chakra is formed, which is through the combination of physical and spiritual energies. Ninja use handsigns to mold their Chakra into various ninjutsu. There are also martial arts called taijutsu, swordsmanship called kenjutsu, illusions called genjutsu, and throwing weapon arts known as shurikenjutsu. There are also special bloodlines known as Kekkei Genkai, which vary from dojutsu, eye powers, to things like the Shikotsumyaku, which allows the possessor to control their bones. There are 5, technically 7, base elements, and others are created through combinations of these base elements. The Base Elements are Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning, with Yin and Yang being included, making 7. Generally, the special combinations of the base elements are regarded as Kekkei Genkai, such as the Lava Release, the Ice Release, the Wood Release, the Boil Release, the Scorch Release, the Magnet Release, the Steel Release, the Crystal Release, the Storm Release, the Swift Release, and finally the only known Kekkei Tōta, the Dust Release.

You know the drill by now, three different ideas for how the Blacklight gets to the world of Naruto. First is as a Kekkei Genkai, where a certain clan is blessed with all of the viruses abilities. Now, that sounds like a lot of power to give one clan, but remember that there are plenty of overpowered bloodlines in Naruto. And you can always have it be a clan that has only one surviving member, like Haku or Kimimaro. Next is transmigration, where either someone wakes up in the body of Alex Mercer, or Mercer himself, in a new world. Obviously, Alex's motivation would be the annihilation of all humans but the random guy might have a more "dirty" driving force, considering how many attractive women are in Naruto. Third and finally, we have the ever-so present reincarnation, which is the same as last time. Guy dies, God offers a second life, guy accepts, God spins a roulette for his new world and then offers a single wish.

Now, I said that I'd be going over the various abilities of the Blacklight Virus at the end, and here we are. So, to start, a little backstory: The Blacklight is a virus derived from the blood of one Elizabeth Greene, who was previously infected with the Redlight virus. Blacklight is an evolutionary chimeric mutation-causing infectious agent, which is just fancy speak for a virus that gives you superpowers. Okay, only if you're lucky, like Alex Mercer, also known as the Prototype or Zeus. It granted him numerous powers, like superhuman strength, speed, durability, regeneration, shapeshifting, the ability to consume others gaining their memories as well as instantly healing him, and forming weapons from accumulated biomass. In the games you gained new powers through consumption or buying them with the in-game currency, but we'll count that as consumption as well. As for upper limits on regeneration, it occurs on a cellular level, so leave any single cell untouched and it's more than likely he'll fully recover. As for his special abilities in the games, I'll make a short list: Claws, Hammerfists, Blade, Whipfist, Tendrils, Thermal Vision, Shield, and Armor. Now, I'm not willing to through every single feat that Alex was capable of, but I'll inform you that the upper limits of what he can do are likely immeasurable, because we don't know how much biomass he's capable of holding at one time. And since his stats increase with additional biomass, a limit to his strength isn't known. Obviously the games had imposed limits, but if we use the lore instead of the gameplay, Alex can become very powerful.

Just as a measure of how slow I've been writing lately, it took me at least 4 months to write 1766 words. Next Chapter will probably come out some time next year at this rate.
