Chapter 32 - COME SING FOR MAMA.

'So what's next?' Tor asked Tori as he stood up and straightened his clothes. 'Now? We wait, it's their move.' Tori replied as she looked up at Tor with a smile. Tor had noticed that when they had began to speak seriously, the bustling 'Lightning Delights' had gone dead silent and once their conversation was done, it once again became lively and although the walls were sound proof, muffled noise and the exciting atmosphere could still be heard.

OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE WALLS.

'Hey that old man is too persistent.' A man wearing what seemed to be a militia outfit spoke to three others as they dashed at lightning pace towards the village which had just been under assault. 'Why did HQ have to give us such a dangerous task. They said only a bunch of gangsters, and that the Phoenix wouldn't be there, but that old man and this little bitch caused so much trouble.' The man who looked to be second in command replied and as he ran he carried a sack over his shoulder with ease but it seemed to be full. 'Con you're forgetting that we also have to investigate what that anomaly was and how we lost both the 'Bloodape' and an elder under our banner' one of the other figures running with the two at the front spoke but was hooded and not as built. 'Well I just hope this isn't a waste of my time or I'll vent my anger on that old man and maybe this whole fucking village while I'm at it.' The one who seemed to be the leader spoke again in an impatient tone as they closed in upon the village walls.

'Hq had said that there was so much destruction that not much would be left of the village but what do we have here, even the walls didn't suffer too much damage.' At this point there were ten figures standing on the village walls, eight of which were cloaked and the other two who were in militia outfit. 'There seems to be some dangerous things lurking in the air, be careful. Find information and report back here by sunrise.' The leader spoke in a commanding tone and all the cloaked figures dispersed like shadows while he and his second in command watched from a Birdseye view. He hoped sending his men would help draw out the owners of the auras he had been feeling. 'The leader is very wise in using the soul clan to gather intel, they are definitely the best at that, although their methods are creepy, they're pretty effective.' The vice leader spoke as they watched the eight figures scour the village for people who were involved in the incident that took place.

'Ok there's nine of 'em and five of us so two -two and I take the one at the top.' The leader of the elite guards spoke after sensing the auras of the intruders, the other guards also understood what he was speaking of. 'Why do you get to have the main course, I wanna have a go.' One of the masked guards spoke and it seemed female. 'This isn't the time to be picky, the 'young lord' and 'lady' shouldn't be disturbed I am sure that they have a lot they need to discuss.' The leader replied in a business like manner and broke the gathering as everyone vanished from the room.

'Hey, Yink nobody seems to know anything, I've even eaten a few souls to be sure. I'm thinking, do you think if I ate one of the auras we sensed upon entering the village I'd make elder?' One of the cloaked figures spoke to the other as he clutched a lifeless body and had a sinister smile on his face. 'Even if you were an ancestral mage you probably won't do.' The other cloaked figure ink replied.

'Huh, tell me more about this 'making elder and ancestral mage' thing, I'm super interested.' The female guard said as she walked into their view. 'Hey girl I know you like to play ninja but this isn't the time nor the place.' One of the cloaked figures spoke as he tried to mask the surprise he was feeling because he had felt nothing before she appeared but the formless aura she was exuding had enveloped the whole alley. 'What's the rush, since you're here already, you might as well leave your delicious soul behind or perhaps you need me to help you.' Yink said as he licked his lips and stared at the masked figure, this was what he had been searching for, one of the few 'special auras' in the city. 'Hmm I didn't expect you guys to be so talkative but I'm sure you will sing the right tune when I beat you up a bit.' She said chuckling as she hit a running pace that Yink's partner and Yink could follow before she vanished and appeared behind him with no ripples whatsoever and a halberd appeared in her hand as she swung upwards tearing Yinks partner in two from the legs upwards after which in the same fluid motion she tossed the halberd like a javelin straight at Yink's head.

'Only people who don't have information talk so much.' She said as she began walking away as the halberd impaled Yink's head and pulled it off it's bodythen impaled it to a wall. 'Ah what bad luck, to meet an elite from the spatial fortress just when we were supposed to be done with our mission.' Yink' partner who had been split in two had joined back together and stood up. 'Oh? It's the repulsive soul clan? I thought our Lord warned you rats to never eat another meal or he would make all fifty of you and your chief his meal.' The masked girl taunted as Yink grew another head and fury could be seen on his face that was still forming. 'I had to use five souls for that so I want that soul. Anyways my uncle ate the soul of someone from the spatial fortress a long time ago and he said it was worth five hundred souls and that he had to split it with the chief and their brothers. How many souls is yours worth?' He asked as he pulled out his saber and looked at the masked girl with a savage smile. 'Hahaha, are you guys really passing down that trash legend where you guys joined forces with treacherous thieves to kill one of ours and caused us to kill hundreds of yours? Anyways at least I know now that you guys are underlings so come sing for mama.' She said gesturing for them to come at her as a great sword appeared in her hand and she leaned on it as though bored of the conversation.
