the next day at the bottom of the mountain in front of the spatial gate:
' i heard the spatial gate is going to be opened for some kid who got expelled from the clan to go through' there were about a hundred people gathered a few metres away from the gate and up the hills of the black mountain that lead to the gate. 'is that true?' One of the people asked another who looked knowledgeable and made the first comment. 'dont listen to him he's a drunk' a different individual said clearly hating on the one that spoke first. 'anyways it sure is amazing to see how many people have come to see the spatial gate open' the lady who asked the question commented on. 'i don't think they've come to see the gate open though, there are rumours of power politics in play' the knowledgeable one said in a cryptic manner. 'how so?' Another one standing around asked. 'oh here come the village elders and their successors' all the people gathered around focused their attention and reverie on the present elders as if to worship them some of who totally ignored the crowd whilst others like Mak enjoyed the attention, thinking he would put on a show today. The girls were screaming out the names of the male successors they came to watch, most of them doing everything in their power to get the attention of the successors. 'master, Lark we love you.' Some girls were screaming while most were screaming incoherent words just to get his attention. 'ahh, I wish I was like young master Lark when I was his age' a man who was well dressed commented whilst watching the spectacle and the men around him nodded assenting their thoughts on his statement. 'hahaha i see you're as popular as ever lark' Roe a sinister looking successor said as he walked up to Lark who was a handsome, gentle looking man, with an uninterested disposition. 'all that does not concern me, i wish to only do away with the great elder's camp' Lark who is the successor of mak replied to roe who is the successor of one of the elders in Mak's camp in the same manner. 'yes the plan this time will bring us closer to your master's ambitions and best of all no one will interfere while we get to shine' Roe said in an almost loud voice which displeased Lark and it also seemed Lark already had a dislike for Roe. 'don't get too carried away and don't forget your role' he said in a voice that showed his superiority and authority over Roe 'yes young lord how can this lowly one mess up at such a crucial point' Roe being as sly as his master and also good at sucking up to power realised Lark's displeasure and worked to smooth things over. 'its good if you're ready then' lark responded to roe and silently trailed behind his master Mak. Lark was a 50 year old who had the mandate of teleportation and had shown a bit of promise in time manipulation and as thus mak treasured him, Mak believed him to be a genius and overlooked his short comings like greed and sadistic acts which would make a man cry if read out loud. 'Lord mak i do not see tor, i hope last night has not scared him into missing his great event.' Lark said as it showed he anticipated the spectacle which they were going to put on and seemed to even pre enjoy it. 'if he is too scared and does not show doesn't that mean we can come up with an excuse that will let us make him a slave therefore making the elder's authority look obsolete?' Mak responded to Lark while waving at the crowd. 'as expected of master but it would be more fun to humiliate and then kill him' Lark lauded Mak's foresight to plan for disappointment but also stating his thoughts 'i think so too' Mak responded assenting Lark's thoughts with a sinister smile.
A moment after the little greetings, the great elder appeared in a royal horse carriage which was gold and adorned with inscriptions and moving drawings, it stopped and the great elder stepped out in his usual traditional attire looking as regal as always but today missing his sword on his waist. As the crowd saluted him they had the look in their eyes as though they had seen their deity, although Tor would describe him as more of a god of chaos. Great elder Ter scanned the crowd for some seconds and locked on his target Mak with his gaze and casually swaggered towards him as though strolling through a park and everyones gaze was on him. News got out and more people hearing the great elder was at the gate began heading there. upon reaching Mak, the Great elder let his piercing gaze which seemed to hold unfathomable power run over Mak and in return Mak tried to put up a defiant aura. 'i see u came dressed for battle' the Great elder said in a sarcastic manner since he was talking about the enchanted leather armour mak wore and the sword that mak had strapped to his back. 'no matter your position i am still your elder Ter and you should speak to me with respect, moreover…' Mak clearly trying to hide his scathing anger sen forgot to address Great elder Ter properly but that didn't seem to bother him. 'yes yes mak, your battle is not with me so calm your nerves' ter cut him off his as he began swaggering back the way he came looking at ease. 'moreover i wont be fighting him, i don't want it said that im bullying the weak' mak concluded extra loudly so the surrounding crowd could hear his benevolence. 'oh? if that is so, let me state that i don't mind if you jump in, break a leg or two? i guess its all up to tor. hohoho' the great elder laughed enjoying the atmosphere whilst mak was reaching his boiling point and wished he could go find the damned brat and just kill him.
