VROOM
The sound of a motorcycle cruising through traffic on a tortuous road, booms in the ears of the driver. Coupled with the occasional honks and complaints from other drivers stuck in traffic, the driver rides on, with a cross dangling by his neck and a gun in it's holster by his side. He wore no helmet as he felt the wind slap his face in a pleasant manner. His cassock flapped behind him as he finally cleared the traffic and onto a mostly empty road. He slowly begins to lift the front of his bike, performing a wheelie and speeding up simultaneously. A smile runs across his face, from one side to another, "WOO HOO," he screams as he lowers the front wheel.
Once it lands on the ground, he presses down on the pedal harder. He leaves dust behind as he passes a sign labeled, 'Now Entering Grover City. ENJOY YOUR STAY!'
[Grover City - Police Station- 2:34 PM]
SKRRT
The driver of the motorcycle arrives at his destination, parking his bike outside in the parking lot of the city police station. He enters the building with police sirens shortly following behind. The driver enters the station. The record clerk stares at him in shock. What is a priest doing here, she thought.
"Hello," the priest says as he reaches the window to the record clerk. She appears confused, she turns around, talking to another clerk, she turns back, "Please wait here sir." The police sirens outside stop and door slams can be heard from inside the station. The priest turns around as two police officers burst through the door, rushing at him, with a pair of handcuffs in their hands. He doesn't resist or move from his position, as though he allowed them to manhandle him and cuff him up.
They pinned him to the ground, hands behind his back and his stomach on the ground. One of the officers called to the clerk, "Get another officer over here." The records clerk makes a phone call, while one of the police officers had the priest pinned down and the other searching his body. He first seized the gun and the holster, placing it on his own belt. He then searched more and found a wallet in the priest's right pocket, a small bible in his left, and some change in his back pockets. He put the change in the bible and placed it on the floor in front of the priest. After seeing the bible on the ground, the priest began praying the Our Father.
The police officer opened his wallet up, checking for ID, he found a driver's license. "Your name is Francis De Luca, is that correct?" Francis replied with another line from the Our Father. "Alright Francis, we're gonna bring you over to the interrogation room, we have a couple questions about this gun you had on you."
Francis stops reciting the Our Father, "The gun is fine, there is nothing illegal."
"Do you have any records of registration for this gun?"
"Registrations? That is a holy weapon provided by me from the church! I don't need registrations to hold a holy weapon."
"I think this guy is a loony," the officer pinning him down says.
"Yeah, he might be. Next he's gonna say that he is going on a crusade," the other officer said.
Francis balls up his right hand in a fist and grits his teeth. He stops after the officers help him up, "Does this mean I'm getting let go?"
"Nope, we still need to ask a few questions," the officer who had all of his belongings said picking up Francis's bible on the ground.
"Please, I need to leave, demons are coming to raid this city and I'm the only one here who can stop it," Francis pleads as he balls up both of his hands into a fist.
By this time the other officer that was called in arrived, he was ordered to help bring Francis to the interrogation room number 2. "This one may be a bit violent, he may look religious, but he got two fists here ready to put at least one of us to the nearest cemetery." The recently arrived officer and the officer that was pinning Francis down, drag Francis from the front lobby through the hallways passing other detectives and officers.
Throughout the whole drag to the interrogation room Francis shouted, "Let me see your Chief Deputy! You need to protect the citizens! The demons are coming! The demons are coming!"
Mostly all the other members of the police force ignored it, all thinking that he was some fanatic. Except for one fresh out the academy police cadet.
"What's wrong with him," the cadet says. "This might be your first time seeing it, but that is one of the crazies we have to deal with. Could be drugs or a mental problem," her supervising partner says, flipping through a newspaper and drinking coffee. "Don't you have a case to be working on?"
Her supervisor smiles, "That case was passed on to someone else. Don't worry about it." The supervisor checks his watch, 2:45 PM, "Let's go out on parole a little early today." He puts down his newspaper and downs his coffee, "We could get some donuts or something." The cadet reluctantly nods her head, having a bad feeling in her gut she goes on the parole. From her desk to the car and through their first round around their route, she thinks about Francis.
I wonder what we can do to help him, she thinks, as she feels her supervisor's cold hands on her thigh. She blushes as she glances at her supervisor, who was driving, and back to the road. "I thought we didn't do this type of stuff anymore." Her supervisor laughs, "Come on Evelynn, I only stopped because I turned 18 while you were still 16. Being a pedophile did not look good for me since I was trying to become a police officer. Now that you're 20 though..." He rubs Evelynn's thigh, she blushes harder.
"Just make sure that you keep your eyes on the road. You can't be running over pedestrians."
Just as Evelynn says this she sees a small figure appear in front of the cop car. Her supervisor had started staring at her eyes with a look of lust, distracted from the road. "Look out," she yells out. her supervisor jerks his head to the road, where he could see a glimpse of a dark figure. Surprised he turns the wheel stepping on the breaks. Cars behind the cop car are forced to stop some crashing into the other.
"Are you okay, Eve?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Evelynn replies despite her heart racing at the speed of a nascar race. Her supervisor unbuckles his seatbelt and opens his door. "Robby, you didn't run over someone did you," Evelynn asks fixing her hair and unbuckling her seatbelt. Robby turns around to talk to Evelynn who was attempting to get out the car. "I'm going to go check it out, go ease the people and those angry drivers."
Evelynn leaves the car, she walks to the driver side of the car which faced the stopped traffic. She opens the door of the back seat and grabs a megaphone on the floor. She walks closer to the traffic and begins easing the stress of the drivers and other civilians.
While Evelynn was easing the civilians, Robby was checking the area around the cop car. No blood, he thinks as he looks around. After inspecting the area, he looks under the car. At first he saw nothing, so he began getting back up, but before he was completely off the ground, he heard a low growl that seemed to echo. It sent chills down his back so cold that he froze in place.
He slowly went back under to investigate what the noise was, but the sound of his radio going off stops him. He gets up, rushing to his radio, "All units in the area of 67th and Harrison, a high speed chase is underway. Suspect is driving a stolen black 2017 Nissan Altima. "
67th and Harrison, Robby thinks, that's right here. Robby runs to Evelynn who was still shouting into the megaphone, he grabs it out of her hand. "Hey, what are you do-"
"Everyone please evacuate from this area, a high speed vehicle is on it's way here! You will all be in danger!"
CRASH
Moments after saying this, the black Nissan Altima came crashing into the police car.
