Lily didn't hear the question. Her mind was still trying to make sense of what had happened to her.
"Who are you? Where am I? Why did you save me?" Whispered, those words left her mouth without her consent. She didn't mean to speak at all. She was still unsure if she was dreaming and if the handsome man next to her was just an illusion.
"This Lord has no obligations to answer any of your questions." His reply was arrogant but his tone was devoid of emotions. His voice was however very pleasant to hear.
"Do you remember what you agreed?" He continued asking her asking question in an neutral way.
Lily denied remembering anything with her head.
"This Lord has saved your life. Your life now belongs to this Lord." He smiled.
When Lily saw the smile blooming on his face, she got flustered. Her heart beating furiously in her chest, like a bird that wanted to escape her body.
"What is your name?"
"Ran Sheng"
Lily was stupefied. She meant to say Lily but the name Ran Sheng escaped from her mouth.
"This Lord will now examine your healing progress."
Lily wanted to move, but her body wasn't listening to her. So the handsome man took his time examining her body.
"Good your are fully healed." He smiled again.
As he was going to leave, Lily grabbed his arm Woah! What was happening?! She wasn't planning to stop him for leaving.
"Can you answer my questions now? I would like to know."
Lily blurted those words again, but she really didn't mean to voice out anything at all.
Right now, her body was not listening to her at all, it felt someone else had taken control of her body. She was starting to panic. Did someone fed her with the mind-controlling drug? Had she became a puppet? Was he the one who did it? Or did it happened before?
"Stay calm. You are only reliving a memory. Once the dream fades, you will know what needs to be known." The voice resounded in her head, shaking her fear down, calming her.
Lily pondered over what was told to her. She was reliving a memory. Then this must have been Ran Sheng's memory. It seemed that unless she uncovered who was Ran Sheng, she wouldn't be able to know who she, Lily, was. Her fate being so tightly entangled with Ran Sheng's made Lily worried.
Since she was just a spectator, she had to watch until the show ended. It looked like she wouldn't need to do anything and it didn't seem she would be able to escape this dream either.
While Lily was still lost in deep thinking, she had left her hand gripped on the man's arm. The aura that was exuding from the man had chilled the room. He was intently staring at her hand.
This Lord disliked to be touched. So when she came back to her, she inadvertently shivered a little. Confronting his icy eyes, she slowly released his arm.
