In B City, there were countless schools competing for the rich and powerful's children, but one stood far above the rest.
Maple-leaf Academy, an academy for the rich and powerful with decades of excellence. Founded by Jordan Maple in the early 1960s, it surged to prominence for having an abundance of award winning staff and students who consistently reached the top of the world after graduating. As time went on, the school transformed itself from a small academy to a sprawling campus with extensive facilities for the students and staff lucky enough to be there.
With a goal of aiding the students in building friendships and establishing connections with other powerful families, Maple-leaf Academy has a strictly enforced policy that all students attending the school must live in assigned dorms. In order to not become the rich's target of anger, each dorm houses two students in luxurious standards equivalent to five-star hotels and provides the students with 24/7 meal access.
A black Maybach pulled to a stop in front of Maple-leaf Academy's gates and a city-toppling beauty stepped out of the back. As she stood, staff from the school scurried over to greet the new student.
"Miss Suzuki, It is our pleasure to have you attend our humble academy!" The two teachers bowed their heads respectively to the girl, while the dean gave her a polite nod.
"Thank you, I feel incredibly lucky to be attending such an incredible school. My family and I have heard nothing but praise since we arrived in B City." Aika Suzuki smiled at the staff politely, hoping to make a positive impression on these individuals who would control the next month of her life.
Fortunately, when her parents decided to move to B City, they were able to pull strings and give favors to the academy or she may have had to attend a lesser school for the end of her high school life.
She frowned at the thought of having to attend a worse school and miss out on potential opportunities.
When the staff saw her frown, they were sent into a panic and looked back and forth from each other, trying to understand how they earned the fury of this young demon who could end their lives with a word. With little choice, Jordan Maple cleared his throat and stepped forward, shooing away the teachers.
"Miss Suzuki, I'll be handling your entrance procedures personally seeing as the teachers have classes to attend to."
Assuming the situation had been remedied, he turned and began walking to the administrative offices so he could be rid of this problematic student as quickly as possible. After several steps, he realized that he was walking alone and turned back to see Aika Suzuki standing where she was before and staring at him.
He walked back up to her and coughed his throat. "Is something unpleasant? Did my teachers offend you somehow?"
Hearing his words, Aika snapped out of her daze and shook her head.
"No, nothing. Let's go?"
Aika smiled at him, feeling guilty for getting distracted while taking his time from doing other important tasks. Sadly, her smiled looked utterly bone-chilling to the poor dean who felt as if his life was hanging on a thread. He really had no idea what those teachers did that offended her, but he was convinced that they must of done something wrong.
Coming to a decision, he made a mental note to take away those two's monthly bonuses for nearly bringing him into a horrible situation.
As the two of them walked quietly to his office, other students turned and looked at the new student with a mix of curiosity and jealousy. At first, most of them simply noticed the strikingly beautiful girl before seeing the dean walk beside her with a fawning look on his face.
The students couldn't help but wonder who this beauty's family was to demand such respect from the typically indifferent dean. An average student at Maple-leaf Academy was by no means not wealthy and powerful, however almost none of them had seen the elusive Jordan Maple except at his yearly graduation and welcoming speeches.
They couldn't help but feel some animosity towards the girl for getting such VIP treatment and turn away feeling slightly ashamed their families weren't powerful enough to earn them the same. Several of the more powerful students recognized who she was and glared at her openly, full of resentment at having to share their positions with yet another dominating presence.
While they were all staring at the new student, Aika was looking around at her home for the next month and trying to memorize the path they walked through campus and the various signs the dean pointed out to her.
Although she knew her family was wealthy and powerful, inwardly she felt a little shocked at the treatment she was receiving from the prestigious Jordan Maple, a man who had worked with countless rich people throughout his time running Maple-leaf Academy.
