Chapter 1 - Awakening

In an immense void a cold body lied floating. The cold of the void is unimaginable, yet this body wasn't alive.

Soon after the feeling of emptiness around me soon disappeared, I gasped heavily for air and tried to understand what happened until a voice to my right. "Hello, guardian. I am a ghost, I just revived you." I found it hard to move and all my body felt heavy and stiff. The little drone-like talking being kept flying around me, as I tried to remember what happened before and why I was lying on the ground but whenever I did I'd get a sharp pain in my brain. " Guardian, May I recommend you not to try to remember? I can regenerate your body but I can't recreate your memories."

"I see...." I answered in a low voice trying to think on what he said. "You said that you revived me, all I can remember was we floating in purple void. That means I died?" I said in a confused manner. "Technically not, Guardian that void was "storing" you in a way but I don't know myself how the revive works. And yes! I was the one that revived you."

As i tried to think about that Void a purple glow slowly creeped into my hands. "Ghost? What is this?". After my question the, the ghost's eye emitted a flickering light from it lens, this seemed to be analyzing what the purple light was. "Guardian, this light is harmless to you. According to my analysis, this is the power of the void. Guardians around the solar system have the ability to wield the light of the Traveller. This light then transforms into three different elements, arc energy, solar energy and the one that you currently own, void energy!"

I was surprised after what the ghost just had told me." So you are telling me that I have superpowers?". With a slight nod, the ghost reassured my statement.

I looked around my body to check for any hints of my identity, but only a burnt Passport was found in my pockets with the name of Sakura written on it. The rest of the name was burnt to ashes.

After leaving the area that the ghost found me at, he took me to an old looking warehouse. Inside of it there was a small run-down Space Ship. "Guardian, This ship will take us to the last safe city on Earth. We must leave this place fast. As soon as I start the engines either Hive or Fallen will come to investigate and kill us, take this hand cannon." Shortly after a revolver-like weapon appeared in my hands with an extremely thick barrel and a 10 round magazine.

The rumbling noise of the engines made the entire warehouse shake as if it was an earthquake when suddenly a digitally distorted howl could be heard outside the building. "Guardian! Its the Fallen try to hold them down while the engine heats up!" After my flying friend told me that, I headed towards the entrance and found some bizarre looking creatures. One of them had was small with similar body features to an average human but slightly smaller, the other one was very tall probably around 180 cm with 4 arms. Finally the last one looked a lot stronger, it`s body was taller, and on it`s head a crown like ornament was sitting as if it was part of it`s head.

I carefully aimed my hand cannon to them and hit the smallest one on the head, a gruesome explosion happened shortly after. The second guy died from the explosion but the big guy didn`t take much damage. After that a voice came up to me inside my head it was my ghost. "Sakura, the small on is a Dreg, the second a Vandal and that last one is a Captain. Enemies with a higher rank within their race have an elemental shield surrounding them, they wont take damage until the shield is taken down. A normal weapon will take longer to take it down. Come back, I will transmat you in and we`ll come back once you are ready to take down stronger enemies. The city should supply you with the essential weaponry to protect it."

After looking around me the Captain disappeared probably due to fear and so I headed into the warehouse, got in the ship and headed to the city.
