Chapter 21 - The Stalker Can't Stalk While Being Stalked

Something's been bothering me.

Yesterday, when I got home, I noticed this really suspicious car in front of the house.

Actually, the car was a pretty normal audi but, the suspicious part was where it was parked... Just across the street from my house.

What's so suspicious about that? It might just be the neighbor's car.

Valid explanation but... The closest neighbor is two hundred meters away!

When I first saw it, I just shrugged it off and thought of it as an emergency parking but...

It stayed there... for the whole night.

When I exited the house a while ago and saw the car still there, it made me pause my steps and stare.

Then, I spotted a giant cat face glancing at me from inside the car.

Hah...

I rubbed my face helplessly and walked on.

I should have known.

Despite yesterday's seemingly cordial treatment, since I was their only lead on a big case, of course, they would put me on watch.

It was a mistake on my part, thinking that the police work would be relatively relaxed since heroes existed.

I guess I was wrong.

They're still doing their work as usual.

As of now, I just got off the train and was walking towards the school and, upon arriving there, as expected, the exact same car was parked some distance away.

Along with a crowd of reporters blocking the entrance.

At least put some effort in disguising yourselves!

Thankfully, I always arrive barely on time.

Why would that help with anything, you ask?

Because Aizawa-sensei arrives at the same time as I do.

"You're interrupting our classes. Please leave."

See what I mean?

"Why are you so sloppy looking?"

"We'd like a direct interview with All Might!"

"Mornin' sensei." I greeted, suddenly popping up from behind him and snuck into the school while no one was paying attention.

"Ah, Yamori. Tell your classmates that you'll be picking a class representative for homeroom." Aizawa-sensei suddenly said, startling me as he shooed away the reporters.

What is this? This wasn't in the plot.

"Why me? Are you going somewhere, sensei?" I asked in a probing manner.

"I'll be in the office for a while. You can just start it yourselves." Aizawa-sensei made a shooing motion, as if he was telling me to go away.

Bang!

The entrance abruptly barricaded itself.

"Oh, I see. Then, see ya later, sensei." I walked on seemingly carelessly but, I was thinking deeply inside.

What is the meaning of this? Were my previous actions finally starting to affect the main plot? Or is it that yesterday's incidents were too big and made some changes to the plot?

Nyaa~

Somehow, while I was caught in my thoughts, I had unknowingly already arrived outside the classroom and, as I slid open the door, a familiar white ball jumped straight into my arms.

"Ah! Mashiro-chan! Don't run aro-oof!" Following the white ball, another green ball crashed into me, causing us to tumble onto the corridors.

Nya!! (||°◇°)

Well, that was one heck of a good morning greeting.

I stared at the ceiling in a daze, sprawled on the floor.

"Ah! Kaito! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there!"

Hearing a familiar voice spout words of apology, I looked up and saw Izuku sitting in a sieza beside me.

Strange. A full on battle with Todoroki Shoto wasn't able to leave a scratch on me but, a barreling Midoriya Izuku was able to leave me sprawled on the floor. Very strange...

Nya?

On my forehead, a tiny paw was tapping me in concern.

"Oh, good morning, Mashiro. Was it fun at Izuku's place?" I asked, still sprawled on the floor.

Nya~

"I think mom fed her too much." Izuku said, scratching his cheek in embarrassment, forgetting momentarily that they were still on the corridors.

"What the hell are you two idiots doing?" A grumpy voice said.

I looked towards the side and saw Bakugo about to enter the class.

"Enjoying the morning on the floor." I answered nonchalantly, spreading my arms to add effect.

"Ah! K-kacchan! Good morning!" Izuku shouted, his body tensed.

"Whatever. You're blocking the door." Bakugo looked away calmly. "Move it."

Strange... He's not shouting angrily.

Is this... the remaining depression from yesterday..?

Eh. He'll probably return to normal in a little while.

"Boring~" I sighed and dragged my body up, walking in a zombie-like fashion to my seat.

Nya~

Mashiro padded along, unwilling to be left behind.

"Good morning, Yamori-kun."

"Oh! You're finally here, Yamori!"

"Yeah, mornin'"

"Aizawa-sensei's running pretty late today, isn't he?"

"Oh right. Aizawa-sensei said that we should pick a class representative amongst ourselves. He'll probably drop by a little later so we'll have to start it on our own." I muttered to Izuku as I slumped on my seat.

"Really?!" An enthusiastic voice yelled from the other side of the class and Iida came striding over. "Is what you said true, Yamori-kun?! Aizawa-sensei instructed us to pick a class representative?!"

"...Yeah." I nodded, feeling a complex emotion. By now, the whole class was paying attention to us, chatting amongst themselves in anticipation.

How did he even manage to hear that from so far away?

"I'll leave the arrangements to you, then, Iida-kun." I muttered as I yawned, slumping over my table. "I'll be sleeping now. Goodnight."

"Aaand... He's gone." Kaminari snickered at the side, from the background, Iida could be heard enthusiastically arranging a class voting system. "This guy really sleeps a lot, don't you think?"

"Yeah! Everytime I turn to look this way during class, I always see him sleeping!" Sero added, grinning. "Say, how do you think this guy passed th written portion of the exam?"

"He must've slept on it!" Ashido joked.

...

"If Yamori didn't forget what I told him, I trust that you've already picked out your class representatives." Aizawa muttered as he arrived.

"Y-yes!" Izuku shouted nervously.

"Why does it have to be me as well?" Yaoyorozu sighed to herself.

"You can take your seats." Aizawa told them and places down a few papers on the desk. "Good work with yesterday's battle training. I've looked over your grades and evaluations."

"Bakugo." Bakugo's head shot up when he heard his name. "Grow up already. Stop wasting your talent."

"...Got it." Bakugo replied darkly.

"And... It seems Midoriya ended up breaking his arm again." Aizawa added, making Izuku fidget nervously. "Learn to control your quirk... Because just trying isn't going to cut it."

"I hate repeating myself. But you do have potential, assuming you can overcome this." Aizawa pointed out. "Work at it, Midoriya."

"Yes!" Izuku replied, determined.

"Lastly, Todoroki." Aizawa flipped through the stack of papers. "You should know why you lost."

Todoroki glanced at a certain person a few seats away from him and looked back towards Aizawa.

"You're too confident in your quirk and that made you careless. If you had cooperated with your partner from the start, you could've won." Aizawa informed. "If you can't fix this problem, you can't be a pro hero."

Todoroki looked down, appearing indifferent. "I see."

"On to other businesses." Aizawa suddenly turned and walked towards the back of the room. "For the next few days, part of your homeroom would be set aside for extra lessons. For the record, I won't be the one teaching them though."

Slide.

As if on cue, the door slid open, revealing a warmly smiling detective. "Good morning, everyone. I'm Tsukauchi Naomasa. I work as a detective for the police force."

"I'll be coming here from time to time to teach you the basics of emergency education. I'll mostly be teaching you about emergency first aid, emergency evacuation, what to do if you suddenly encountered a villain, and such." Tsukauchi said as he stood in front of the class. "I might be called back sometimes due to work, that's why, an officer would take my place during those times. That's all for the introduction. Does anyone have questions?"

Kirishima, Izuku, and Ojiro glanced at each other and then, towards the napping boy at the back, all of them feeling as though the sudden arrangement was connected to what happened the day before.

Hah... It seems that the police department had too much time on their hands.

"Yes!" Iida abruptly raised his hand. "This wasn't originally part of the required lessons that the school had published. If I may ask, what happened that pushed to the arrangement of this new class?"

"Good question." Tsukauchi nodded, appreciating this quick-witted student. "Recently, we've been seeing a steep increase in villain attacks. The sad thing is, they target the weak, old, young, and disabled people. That is why, as students aiming to be pro heroes, we decided to impart to you knowledge not just of defeating villains, but also how to effectively save people."

"I see! Thank you, sir." Iida exclaimed in understanding and sat back down.

"Any more questions?" Tsukauchi asked, recieving silence back.

"So you heard." Aizawa muttered, already inside his yellow sleeping bag. "I'll be watching over your lessons from here so behave yourselves."

Nya..?

Mashiro curiously patted the yellow caterpillar.

"Then, shall we begin the lesson?" Tsukauchi asked, smiling warmly.

"Yes, sensei!" The class responded in enthusiasm.

Hah... There are eyes everywhere.
