Kizue POV
"Wow! that's a weird hat…" Hmm?" I was sitting in a chair in the auction house with my girlfriend Kyra. "That hat seems strange… wonder what it is." I looked at the hat, and I sensed a weird aura emitting from it. "Yeah… it is weird…" "Ladies and Gentlemen! This is a hat created using the skin of a void walker aberration! It can allow you to turn invisible, and avoid magical detection spells!" I got up, and walked out of the auction house. "Man, that was a waste of my time… none of those objects are as good as my family's…" "Yeah, but not everyone has the luxury you do…" "Eh, I guess so, but I don't even use any of those items…" "Well then, why don't you buy any?" "Eh… seems like a waste to me… those artifacts aren't that good, and won't really help me in combat…" As we chatted, we eventually reached my house, and I opened the door. "Kizi!" a golden blur tackled me out of nowhere, and I fell on the ground. The person who tackled me was Diana, one of my friends. Her tail wagged behind her as she licked my cheek, until she noticed the person standing next to me. "You bitch! What are you doing here!?!" I sensed that something bad was about to happen, so I tried to push Diana off of me, but it was too late. Kyra tackled Diana to the ground, and they started fighting on the floor until I levitated them, and separated them, before putting them down. They glared at each other, until I moved in between them. "Now, now ladies, let's all calm down…" the glaring contest continued until Kyra hugged onto my arm. "Hey Kizue?" "Y-Yeah?" Her tone made me blush, and she replied "Who do you like better, me or that bitch?" "Uhhhh…" Thankfully, the conversation was salvaged by my stomach's rumbles. "How 'bout we get some ramen…?" "...suuuure…" Diana started to stare at me, making me nervous. "W-what is it?" "Answer Kyra's question." The steely tone in her voice made it clear that she wouldn't rest until I did. This predicament I found myself in was awkward and I decided to run away. "Hey you didn't answer me!!!" "We're getting ramen right?!?" "Hey!" she chased after me, yelling "You didn't answer my question!" "We're getting ramen now!" I ran as quickly as I could to the nearest ramen shop, and ordered a bowl of ramen for both the girls. I sat down at a table, and waited for our order. After we finished eating, I got up, and walked with the girls out of the restaurant. As we walked, Kyra started moving closer to me, and Diana did the same, until both of them were almost clinging to me. I blushed furiously as they clung to me. I tried to look away from them, but they kept pushing up against me. This situation lasted until we got to my house. Koturi was standing there, but he looked ragged, and was riddled with sword scars and had some bleeding holes in his arms from what I assumed was arrows. On his back was my little sister. "Koturi! What happened!?" I teleported next to him, and blurted out, "Is my sister okay?" "Yeah… she's fine." "What about you?" I had a fight with the undead emperor, and managed to heavily damage him, but was forced to flee because of his army. My wounds are only superficial." I sensed that something was wrong, but ignored it, and carried my sister to her room, and tucked her in. Diana and Kyra entered after a few moments. As they entered, they looked at each other solemnly and I sensed that something was wrong. "What? What is it?" "N-nothing…" they avoided my gaze, and I started to panic. "What's wrong? Tell me!"
Diana POV
The pain and frustration in Kizue's eyes hurt me, but the words that Koturi said to me resounded throughout my mind. (Flashback) "Remember, don't tell him what happened to his sister." "But why?" "He'll be reckless again, and he'll put himself in mortal danger just for revenge." (Flashback end) I gritted my teeth, and steeled my will. "Sorry. I can't tell you for your own safety." He glared at me with tears in his eyes, before shutting himself in his room. Kyra came over, asking "What happened?" "H-he g-got mad at me…" Kyra, instead of insulting me like she usually did, surprisingly started to comfort me. "He'll get over it… I think…but you have to understand his feelings...he already lost his brother…" I sighed, and slumped on the couch when we heard footsteps, and I saw Kizue walk down the stairs. My heart tightened as he approached us. He looked up nervously and said "H-hey guys… I'm sorry…" he looked down again, and I jumped up, and hugged him. " I'm glad you forgave us…" He smiled, but it was sad, and he sighed. "I'm sure you guys have reasons for not telling me, but it still makes me frustrated that I can't do anything about it! " He punched a wall, his rage and frustration evident. It made my heart hurt to see him like this, but I couldn't do anything to help him. I let go of him, and said "Then, let's ask your grandpa for help!"
