Chapter 7
The next morning…
A young woman is gazing at her with curious eyes, the exquisite features of the girl and her flawless jade complexion made her rekindle the beautiful memories of the past. As she viewed herself in the mirror, an unbelieving emotion bombarded her consciousness that shook the very soul of her being.
The very question like a wave crashing within her is, 'Is this really me?'
"Auntie are you okay?"
A soft voice coming from outside the room, awoke Luisa from her stupor as she recollect herself. Still in disbelief, as her features from her face to her body has changed. It was like she went back to the time when she was still in her 20's.
"Yes… yes… Auntie is okay. I'll be out in a moment."
She hurried herself and prepare to go to work.
'Women really likes to be pretty. I hope I'd be like her when I grew up. I was one of the most beautiful goddess in the heavenly realms, so I have to uphold that status.'
Jade remembers those days, eons ago many other gods' bids for her attention. But since she is far too powerful, no one dares to act excessively. Let alone her powers even her status as an apprentice of the heavenly ruler, no one dares to covet her for themselves.
That morning many people noticed her mother. Luisa is already a beautiful woman in her 30's but time was unkind to her, after giving birth she had forgotten to take care of her body. The once youthful and delicate figure becomes shabby and exhausted.
But now she looks different, her aura and presence cannot be denied. As she walks on the side ways many people can't help but look back. And looking at the baby she is carrying and the little handsome boy, no one can't help but admire her more.
"Hmm… She looks... different. She looks younger than from the pictures you've sent me."
"Looking at her now, I think I remember that face sir."
"Really, from where?"
"I remember the Wei's had a younger daughter who ran away, a few years ago. I think that's her. She really covered her identity too well. I've searched her background and found no fault."
"This is the first time that you've failed. Maybe someone is helping her from the inside."
"Maybe sir… So what should we do with the young master?"
"Let him be. I think they are kindred of spirit, that's why the woman take kindly of the boy. We'll wait until the end of this month, then escort the boy home."
"Yes, sir."
"Let's go back."
Unknown to Luisa and the kids, a black SUV was parked not too far from them. And sometime later the car slowly left the area.
The day went by smoothly, though some changes happened. Like Luisa receiving gift from someone, or some younger men taking a fancy of her and flaunting their abilities. But she just smiled and told them that she is already a mother of 2 children.
She thought that this would hinder those men, but instead this made them cared for her more. As if they are willing to take the responsibility for her and the children.
Of course Luisa knew that this are all superficial, but as a woman she felt happy and a little proud deep inside.
These few days both the children always sneaks out, as Jade taught Glenn the basics of fighting skills, every night. She was amazed with the boy's ability to grasp every theory and materialize them in reality. She knew that if this kid was born in her old world, he would be a genius seen once in every thousands of years. His movements are fluid limited only by his body size, but enough to be considered as above average.
"Teacher look! I'm really good right?"
The boy's expectant face is beaming with joy after completing the movement cycle.
"Yes, but don't be complacent. I hope that you continue on improving these basic movement and fighting skill. When you grow and reach the age of 20, I will teach you advance level skills."
"Thank you teacher."
After each practice the two stealthily returns and act as if nothing happens.
A few days ago, Luisa received a call.
"Miss, it's time."
"Can… Can it be extended? Even just for a few days? I haven't…"
"We already told you about this… Sigh… The young master has a duty and he will become a great man. We hope that you won't stop this from happening as this is his prepared future."
"I know, thank you. I'll try to…"
"No, it's better if you don't tell him. He will feel betrayed and that would affect his mentality. I want him to have hope, that if he work-hard he will have a chance to see you."
"Really! ... If there will be a time where I can see him again, my heart will be at ease. Thank you very much… Huh hu hu"
Luisa's eyes were like river that day as she was once again drowned in sorrow. But she still forced herself to calm down and face the children as a happy and calm mother.
The morning sun is a little odd, as if sending a foreboding feeling of gloominess. Although Luisa calmly dressed Glenn but every time her gaze fall upon his cute and pudgy face, tears can't help but form.
Albeit Glenn noticed this but he can't make out the gist of it. But Jade already knows something wasn't right and if her conjecture is right, the boy is going to leave them today. She actually didn't want this to happen as she already considered the boy as her disciple. But as a mortal and a baby at that, she can't intervene with the boy's fate. At least she already taught him how to survive and more.
It was already in the afternoon but the ambiance in the sky is dark and dreary. The sun shyly hid behind some dark ominous clouds. Inside the convenience store Luisa busied herself arranging the new inventories assisting her colleague. The two little children as always obediently just sat in one corner.
Then three men wearing black suits entered the store. Looking around as if trying to find someone. When their eyes locked on the little boy, one of the men immediately walked towards the unassuming boy.
"Young master, it's time to go home."
The man said in a calm and emotionless voice.
When Glenn heard this he was stunned and was unable to move as he just look at the man stupefied.
"How… How… did you find me?"
"Young master, it's time to go home now. Butler Kim is with us and waiting outside."
Hearing the name Butler Kim, the eyes of Glenn has a hint of understanding. He knows that no one can hide from Butler Kim, even him. But his heart is unwilling to let go. He can't afford to be away from his auntie Luisa.
"No! I don't want to go!"
He shouted as he ran towards Luisa, hugging her from behind.
"I will protect auntie, I am the only one who can protect auntie!"
Luisa just stood there frozen as the boy hugged her waist. Tears flowed non-stop from her eyes, and her heart was in turmoil.
The man was about to move and grab the boy, but Luisa raise her hand and stop him.
"Please… Please let me talk to him."
The man just nod and waited aside.
"Glenn baby, I know you really wanted to protect auntie, and auntie also wanted you to stay… But right now, we don't have the power to do what we want… You are still small and weak, but time will come that you will grow up and become strong. When you grow up, me and Jade will be here. We are going to wait for you okay? Auntie will be cheering for you as you study and become a great man. Just remember that auntie loves you very much."
"Auntie… auntie…"
The unwillingness in his heart started to melt as he felt a warm hand touch his cheek and the teary eye of Luisa looks at him with gentleness.
"Auntie, I promise that when I grow up. I will take you and baby Jade with me and we will live as one family. I will become a great man for auntie."
He is a wise boy, he already knows that he has no power to keep his love ones, and he already lost his mom. In this situation he have to be strong, and all he needed is time. With the teaching of his teacher and the love he felt from his auntie, he will retreat for now but will return a great man for them.
