Hey I am the author of this book and I will explain a bit, the reason I don't write how the characters look that much is that I expect you to know about those characters and monsters [sao monsters, not D&D monsters because I explain most of them] and if you don't them then... IDK check them out maybe? Oh and I really recommend you to just check out how the characters and monsters look like, including the ones I say the description of because you might not really remember them and you can't really get into a book without knowing their appearance.
Also, I expect you to know at least the anime levels of what I write because I don't want to be like some books dragging things on and on about what we already know but with only the tiniest of changes like what they wear or something. I only want to shove my ideas inside the original and show the changes to you readers!
