Kim Jungwook stood in front of me with a blank look on his face. I frowned, expecting more of a reaction from this ice-cold brick in front of me that is supposedly in love with me.
"Is that a... no?" I ask politely, trying not to seem too aggressive.
Jungwook cleared his throat and said, "No."
I looked at him, confused, "No to my question or no to the gala? You're too confusing for me."
I laugh awkwardly to try to relieve some of the tension that is building up in the room. It doesn't work.
Instead, Jungwook glares at me and says, "Sure, you'll come."
My face brightened at his words. I jumped up from the couch and cuddled him like a little kitten with huge doe eyes, "Thank you!!!"
Jungwook froze underneath my embrace, and when I released him he relaxed. He seemed somewhat dazed, but he spoke without a stutter the next moment, "Let's go."
I nodded my head as I dashed back to the couch to retrieve my bag and then headed out the door with him to head to the company building.
When I entered the car, I noticed that the inside was quite spacious. It had a large space for leg room and a parition window between the driver and the passengers. A small cooler was in the middle of both seats and a small tv was right above it for entertainment. It was my first time in such a nice and expensive car, so I knew I should enjoy it while I can.
I grabbed a ginger ale out of the cooler and turned on the tv. I drank the cold drink as I laughed at the hilarious tv show that airing. Jungwook sat next to me as he watched the tv as well. After a while, I noticed he was drinking anything or laughing.
I raised an eyebrow and asked, "Do you want me to get you something to drink?"
Jungwook shook his head and continued to watch the tv show.
"Umm... Okay."
I continued to watch, and after a while of really hilarious scenes I asked, "Do you understand the jokes? They're really funny!"
Jungwook looked at me with his hard gaze, which seemed to be less cold than before, "Why do you think I don't understand?"
"Well," I commented, "You aren't laughing. Normal people would laugh at this."
I glanced over at him and quickly took in a swift breath, "N-Not that you aren't normal! You're perfect fine! Actually, you're perfect! I didn't mean to of-fend you or anything!"
Jungwook seemed to e taken back by the sudden apology, but he helped her gloss over it, "It's fine. I just don't think this is my type of comedy."
I blew out a sigh of relief, thankful that he didn't get angry, "Well then, what is your type of comedy?"
Jungwook thought about it before saying, "I don't really know. I'm not much of a comedy fan.."
I stared at him like he was on another planet, "You're not a fan of comedy?"
He nodded his head and I laughed sarcastically, "How can you not be a fan of comedy? There is no such thing!"
