'Yes!' She exclaimed at finally being able to shed a tear.
The look on her face spelt adorable and fragile. All he wanted to do was plant butterfly kisses all over her--
'No! You can't fall for it Simion. She's using you right?'
"Don't do this Simion," she sniffed and wiped her cheeks with shaking hands. "Please don't do this. Don't accuse me of something I'm not! Everywhere I go, people shut me out because of these... stupid rumors being spread about my family. They always judge a book by its cover, and refuse to hear our side of the story. I nearly got burnt to death because of it. I've had to move from country to country for most of my life. And now that I've finally found a place where I feel I belong, your sister comes in and-look. I love you, Simion. I do, I-I just…"
'But she looks so harmless. She's just a girl who's been a victim all her life and wants to be accepted.
No Simion, you can't fall for it. You definitely saw something flash in her eyes a few minutes ago. And a veil definitely came off of her.'
"Don't play games with me Sméagol. Cut the shitty act, because we both know that you're lying! My sister never lies, our family has this thing we call, intuition. It's like a sixth sense, and it's never wrong!" Simion exclaimed, as his fingers tightened around the knife he held in his hand. "I saw right through you."
Lacy's eyes grew wide.
"Yes. Literally right through you…"
She looked at him in wonder for five seconds, before the sound of her blood curdling laughter, rippled through the air. Chills ran down his skeleton and not a moment later, a smirk tugged at the corner of her lips, followed by applause.
"I give you and your sister a badge! Nothing gets past you, does it? Usually most people fall for my exquisite acting skills, but you?" she pointed at him with her finger," You never fell for it."
He gulped as he took a step back, and mentally patted himself on the back for not giving in. 'Damn Ana, I owe you one.'
"You-half Angel, half demon abominations get me sick!!!"
Her canine teeth grew longer, as they slowly turned into fangs. Long red colored nails turned into black claws, as she bared her teeth. With one step, she lunged at him, attempting to claw his eyes out. But being a jock came with its perks.
He was able to run back five swift steps, and flung the knife at her, gaining a bull's eye. The knife made a touchdown, perfectly into her right eye. Once again, her painful screech pierced through the night's cold air.
Her body did a salsa in circles, as she continued to cry out in pain. Her blood flowed freely from her eyes, as she held the hilt of the knife. Finally when she mustered enough courage, her fingers tightened around it and yanked it out.
Attached to the knife in her horror, was her eye along with pieces of her eyelid.
"You fucking piece of shit! I'm going to rip you apart limb from limb, and drink your blood out of the remains of your bludgeoned skull!"
Simion wasted no time in running as he saw the opportunity to. He ran as fast as he could, feeling the wind brush his sweaty body. Unfortunately, he came tumbling down as he felt something snake around his right leg, yanking it from under him. His head made contact with the ground first and his body fell in pursuit.
"Ah! Fuck!" he screamed in pain as his nose throbbed. In pain, he tried to crawl on the ground, away from his girlfriend. Whatever it was that yanked him, tugged at him and the stones beneath his body scraped at his skin.
When it stopped, he turned his body over and used his elbows to prop him up. Lacy's figure moved towards him as he coughed up blood. His heart beat was faster than a cheetah could run. A tail came into view, as it retreated behind her back. That's what she used to wrap around his leg.
"You little piece of shit!"
Her dirty blonde hair turned to obsidian black, as did the blue from the pupil of her eyes. Simion, instead of running for dear life, seemed paralyzed as Lacy inched her way closer to him.
Wings the size and appearance of a pterodactyl's, towered a few inches above her head. They were freakishly blood red, and at its tips, black horns grew to ten inches long.
"Poor Simion," even her voice changed, "it appears that you are really, really good at romancing and cooking. And I do admit that there were times when you made me soak my panties," her tongue emerged to lick the top of her lip. Simion shivered.
"But it seems you're a weakling. You can't even defend yourself, let alone run!" She was now twenty feet away from him, and patterns in blood red started snaking across her body.
"Is that so," Simion rolled each word smoothly off his tongue as he looked up at the sky, and burst into a run. Lacy stood there watching Simion and laughed.
"That's right, run like a lil girl-"
~~Boom~~
Dust fogged everywhere making it hard for any ordinary human being to see, but he was able to. Just a little…after all, he wasn't human. He was happy that he was able to make a run for it. If not, he would've been taken out by those two stars he saw falling from the sky that landed right on top of Lacy, serves her right. The bitch wouldn't quit talking.
A few seconds later, two silhouettes bathed in white light, started to die out as they approached him; a man and unmistakably, a woman. Simion slowly crawled out on his hands and knees in pain, from his hiding place. The dust started to clear up, making it easier to see and what he saw was beyond any human comprehension.
"D-Dad?" he called out and slowly stood up on wobbling feet. The man stopped upon hearing what he was called and, so did the woman. Her head turned to her comrade and then back to Simion.
"Dad?" she repeated in a hushed voice as her eyes lingered on Simion, scanning him from head to toe.
"Dad…Is that you?" Simion asked again and the man walked up to meet him.
Simion met a pair of eyes, similar to his long wavy hair running past his shoulders. Broad shoulders and that signature smile which used to calm him down, whenever he was afraid.
"I-It's you! You-You're here! You're alive? You're alive! Oh my God you're alive!" He ran to his father, who caught him in open arms. Simion's head was buried in Anadron's chest, as his familiar scent treaded up his nostrils.
"Ana was right. You're alive," he cried in a whisper, as he hugged his father tighter. Anadron chuckled and rested his chin on his son's head almost in tears.
After embracing him for five seconds he let go, laughed and ruffled his hair.
"Hey son… It's been-"
A loud screech sounded from the hole, interrupted him.
"Hi, I'm Zapphira nice to meet you. That's what I'd like to say but... your father and I have matters to attend to," she turned her body slightly too where Lacy seemed to have been crawling out of.
"Simion, I need you to head back home and help your mother and sister. They're in trouble. We'll take care of her," Anadron said his back now facing Simion, as he looked at Zapphira who charged
for Lacy. Anadron ran after his partner, while Simion stood stock still.
"Simion! What are you doing?" He pulled out his sword and started attacking Lacy. "Go help your mother and sister now! We'll be right behind you!"
Lacy seethed and she backhanded him.
"Mph…"
"Dad…!"
"Listen to your father boy. We'll be right behind you," Zapphira said as she punched Lacy across the face.
Two teeth fell out and Lacy grunted in annoyance, "You bitch!"
Without hesitation he raced down the hill, jumped across the river rocks, cut through spiked trees and finally into the clearing. Each step he took, he became faster. The determination he felt to be of assistance to his mom and sister was his fuel.
