The party kept following the winding tunnel, having set off after tending to the wounds on Daylor and giving him a bit of time to rest. His wings however were too damaged for Aiko's healing, resulting in him having to keep the broken nubs within his body. The group kept moving, unsure of where they were heading until Amber stopped them from the front with a confused look on her face. They had decided to place her in front of the party in case any traps had been laid further down the pass, this was because Amber was the best situated to both find, and disarm any traps.
"There's a stone wall at the end of the passage" she said before anyone could say anything "Somehow we must have dodged the massive casam and looped back round to the dungeon, though that should not be possible."
As she spoke to the party she looked around near the wall before smiling to herself and pulling a lever that had been built into a hole in the wall, causing the wall to slide away and reveal a group of very confused and shocked goblins on the ground a short jump below them.
There were over fifty goblins which let out disgruntled shrieks that sounded like nails being dragged down a chalkboard, the sheer number of goblins which screeched out that loud sound made most of the party grab their heads in pain. In the middle of the group was a goblin that would be considered giant for their race, it was seated upon a large cracked stone throne. The large creature was covered in bones of various animals and creatures. The only exposed part of it was the massive stomach that seemed to shake as he turned to look at the adventurer's, it's dark black eyes filled with malice looked at them from under a deer skull helmet.
The giant goblin looked at them with a look of pure hatred as he screamed in words no one could understand, pointing at the group as all the other goblins drew their crudely made weapons.
"Humm I have no idea what he just said, But I am going to assume it's something about wanting us dead." Daylor stated as the party looked at him waiting expectantly, they all looked down knowing as soon as they dropped they would be swarmed by the little monsters.
"Maybe he wants to eat us." Umla stated looking at the giant goblins form and shrugging, her face splitting into a large bloodthirsty grin.
"You're not eating the goblin." Daylor stated, which made the half-orcs face fall slightly as he shook his head and sighed.
There was a burst of magic as the symbol for shield came from Aiko's brush and moved in front of the party; who were busy talking, deflecting a few thrown spears from the goblins who had throwing weapons. Deciding they should stop wasting time Daylor gave the party a nod as he drew his new weapon, with a booming laugh of joy Umla jumped down passing the magic shield with glee both her axes drawn as she landed killing two goblins instantly as she cleaved them in two.
This was followed shortly by Inarus, his armour loudly creaking as he hit the ground. He drew his Duel hand scythes and charged into the fray, black blood smearing all over his armour as he cut the goblins down like a farmer would wheat. There was a sudden yelp of pain from the large Goblin as Amber appeared in his shadow slashing him with one of her shadow rapiers, however the hit was mostly deflected by one of the bones upon his back resulting in her only managing to get a glancing hit on him. She cursed and hastily jumped back into the shadows before his large crude axe managed to hit her. The hit instead shattered the stone and made the ground shake slightly.
"Damn, Maybe he is half ogre?" Daylor said to Aiko to which she only shrugged in response. He smirked as he jumped down to join the rest of his party, The blue runes carved from sapphire along his enchanted blade seemed to almost glow as he deflected a goblins attack. "Gods a gnome hits harder!" he said to the goblin, smiling as the goblin collapsed under his words, A look of indignation and shock as it died holding its chest. The other goblin next to him looked at him with fear a second before he gutted it, lighting arcing over its body as it died.
Fire seemed to strike the goblin chieftain causing it to roar in anger and throw a large piece of the floor where the fire came from, there was a flash of light as Aiko blasted it aside with a stroke of her bush. Khurda took a knee in front of her and took out his blunderbuss, firing a shot dislodging the goblin's bone pauldron and then started to load another set of shots.
Daylor, Umla and Inarus focused on cutting down the legions of goblins as Amber stuck from the Chieftains shadow slashing again. This time she focused on the straps holding its bone armour in place, this causing the chest piece to fall heavily to the floor just as Khurda finished reloading. As it went to bring its axe down on the assassin Khurda pulled the trigger, causing the Chieftain to howl in pain as a section of its shoulder was blown away. In a blind rage it ripped its throne off with its healthy arm and threw it at Khurda, He failed to move out of the way and was slammed into the wall with the throne pinning him in place. This made Aiko cancel the spell she was drawing in the air as she rushed to Khurda, healing him from his critical state before trying to pull the throne off of him but struggling due to its sheer weight.
Umla finished off more goblins in her way before climbing up to them both using the mound of corpses she had amassed, pulling the throne of the injured dwarf as Aiko recast her shield spell to cover Umla. This caused more goblins to surround Daylor and Inarus.
"Hey buddy don't suppose you can cast another raise spell could you?" Daylor asked as he kept deflecting and dodging the spears of the goblins, cursing slightly as a few hits grazed him and lashing out with a swift hand when he was able.
"Sure but I won't be able to cast it again until we sleep, and it's a lesser version." Inarus answered before gesturing to Aiko. She nodded and moved the shield to surround him, causing some of the goblins to yell out in frustration as their weapons hit the invisible shield. As she focused on the spell, Inarus started chanting. The horrifying sound of his unholy chant caused goblins to flinch back, before a light green wave of energy flowed out of him and into the corpses in front of him. Ten of the goblin corpses started twitching before they then shakely roze to their feet, ripping the skin from their bones as they grabbed their crude weapons and turned on their former kin. As Inarus and his undead squad focused on the remaining goblins Daylor ran towards the rampaging Chieftain as it got more and more frustrated as it kept trying to crush Amber with its working arm.
Amber looked at Daylor who nodded before stopping, interlocking his hands. She jumped into a shadow on the edge of the wall then ran towards him, Placing her foot on his hands as he pushed her up. She launched up onto the Chieftains shoulder, digging one rapier into its exposed shoulder and holding on for dear life as it screeched in pain and thrashed around trying to throw her off. She summoned another shadow rapier in her other hand and pulled it against the exposed part of the Chieftains throat. Its screams of pain being cut off as it tried to cover its bleeding throat to no avail, she held on as it fell down to the floor, twitching a few more times before the body stopped moving. The five remaining goblins watched as their leader collapsed, Their morale breaking as they screeched and ran as fast as their short legs would take them.
The party met besides the large corpse, even Khurda who had to limp his way towards the party. They looked at where the Goblins' throne had been, they saw a large mound of what the goblins took as treasures. It raged from things like rat spines and shiny spoons, and even some chunks of rotten meat causing the party to pale when they got too close. On Top of it all was a golden chalice covered in mud and gore, with gems along it.
"Well I think we got it," Daylor said with a grimace as he grabbed it with cloth covering his hand and then the chalice with the cloth wrapping it up and placing it into his bag as the rest of the party sighed in relief. Other than Umla who picked up the Chieftains crude and savage looking weapon.
"Ooo Corpsemaker is what this axe is called," she said with a smirk as she strapped it to her back "I will have to get it identified back in town."
The party took a few minutes break, outside the room full of carnage. The hall they were in seemed to be a little up the path from the room that had the hidden door in it causing some of them to groan in annoyance.
"Well then I guess we should head back and hand the mission in," Daylor said as he stood up, followed by the rest of the party.
