Chapter 50 - Tell me Everything

EDWARD's POV

"Was that Ms. Yvory?"

"Yes, that was Yve. She was asking of where we are right now."

"Hmm.. I see."

I can totally see that they trust each other and care for one's safety.

"Sir Edward, can I ask you a question?" She asked when we reached an intersection.

It seemed that she had waited for an opportunity. How could I possibly say no?!

"Yes, what is it?"

"Yve has been secretive to my for the past few days and now she has decided to spill everything..."

"Yes but you don't seem happy about it." I said as I looked at her in the eyes.

"Well, I am happy about it. But I am worried whether I can accept everything that she will say."

"What do you mean?" I still wanted to look at her but the stop light signaled me to start the car. So I just try to steal glances when the opportunity allows.

"Despite knowing that Yve is the rightful heir of the Stones Enterprises, I wish it wasn't the case. I want her to stay the same."

I saw the sad look in her eyes and I noticed a little guilt….

"Why? Do you think she will change?"

"Not really. But her priorities will change and somehow I don't like that."

As our conversation gets deeper, we arrived at Vince's penthouse. I parked the car in one of Vince's reserved spaces and looked at Nyelle's eyes and asked,

"So are you not willing to help her claim her throne?"

"That's not what I mean!" She exclaimed and immediately looked down.

"I think it's not only Yve who needs to say so many things. No matter what I say, I'm not Yve. Only her words can assure you and hopefully erase your doubts." I sincerely look at her.

"You think she will answer me truthfully?"

"If she really values your friendship, which I think she does, she will answer everything with sincerity." Then finally I saw her smiled a little.

"Thank you." She said which I responded with a smile.

She finally looked outside and saw how big the parking space is.

"Is this where she's living? The parking space is much bigger than her previous unit. For sure the rent is more expensive also."

I just smiled and went out of the car. Like a proper gentleman, I opened the door for her and urged her to get out of the car to which she amusingly accepted. I went to my car's trunk to get the grocery and went inside the building.

"Hello, Mr. Edward. Mr. Gray nor Mrs. Gray has not yet arrived." The guard informed me.

I looked at Nyelle who looks shock and wants an immediate explanation. I looked back at the guard and said, "It's fine. They'll be coming in a moment."

Then pretending like nothing happened, I head to the elevator door and pressed R. I can't dare to say anything and there was still creepy silence inside. I can really feel that Nyelle wanted to know the truth soon.

"I know you will not tell me because you're not in the position to do so. But I just want to ask…." She began.

There it is, her question. I need to be very careful with my answer.

"Is the Mrs. Gray the guard said, Yve Smith?"

I didn't give an answer. So she said, "Please. I just need a yes or a no."

I looked at her and felt sorry for her. Her expression tells me she badly needs an immediate confirmation.

"Yes." It was all I can say and like destiny is helping me, the elevator door opened and we're on the penthouse.

NYELLE's POV

Sir Edward guided me inside the penthouse.

I was lost in words with what I just heard. She kept everything from me and married Mr. Gray on her own. She did it just to claim Stones Enterprises. I thought she wasn't that desperate enough. What is happening with her.

Sir Edward put the groceries on the kitchen while I was mesmerized on the beauty of the penthouse. I went to the living room and was astonished at the furniture but I didn't see any portrait of the couple.

Did Yve really married Mr. Gray just to get the company? What will Mr. Gray get out of this?

Like she heard me from afar, the door opened and Sir Edward greeted Yve.

"Ms. Yvory." He said.

"Yes, Ed. Thank you very much. Where is Nyelle?"

"She is in the living room."

"Okay."

Then her steps became louder and closer.

"Hello, Nyelle. Long time no see." She wanted to exchange kisses with me but I looked away.

She was shocked but I don't care. She decided to do things on her own without telling me anything and now you wanted to talk to me because I can't do anything.

"What's wrong, Nyelle?" She asked me.

"You dare ask now?! WHAT ABOUT YOU?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?" I shouted at her.

I don't care if this is Mr. Gray's place and that Edward can hear us. She needs to wake up. Someone needs to tell her that what she's doing is wrong. She can't just marry someone and treat it like a business deal.

"What is wrong with me? I don't understand what you are talking about?" Yve answered.

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND?!! YOU MARRIED MR. GRAY JUST TO GET STONES ENTERPRISES, RIGHT?!?!?!

"Married? What are you talking about?" She confusingly look at me.

"Don't try to lie straight to my face. The guard said earlier that Mr. and Mrs. Gray are not inside the house yet. Then Edward said that Mrs. Gray is you."

She took a deep breath and looked at Edward who nodded in response.

"Okay. I'll explain everything to you. Will you please calm down and listen to me?" She asked me.

Without waiting to be seated, I sat on one of the couches with my arms and legs crossed.

"I think I should leave you ladies. I'll go out and make a call." Sir Edward said.

"Ed, please tell Vince that I made it safely home." Yve called out to Edward.

"Okay." After that, I didn't see Sir Edward. All I heard was opening and closing of the door indicating that it's just me and Yve inside.

But by Vince, did she refer to Mr. Vincent Gray? What is really their relationship?

"So, care to start now?"
