"Seriously?"
She runs to her room and brings a really cool black and white outfit. Perfectly suits my taste and it's got pants. The top part is nicely embroidered and it flows over the pants slanting to be longer on the right side. But I begin to get suspicious about how she got this magnificent of art.
"This isn't you. How did you get your girly princess hand on this magnificent piece of art?"
"I know. Hard to believe I was a tomboy back when I was a teenager. Those days are over but my rich uncle kept buying me these."
"No! Wait you're still a teenager what are you talking about."
"I'm talking about mental age, please. I've matured and have the brain of an old wise man."
"Okay? Thank you though."
It's kinda nerve racking knowing a new recruit like me finds myself entangled within the higher ups inner circle but there's no point in brooding over it. I remember to take my pass and have Natasha fix me up like a mother. Ridiculous but better than making a fool of myself before elites.
I get to the main hall and it's humungous but of course, it would be. There's guard's stationed by the doors. Same as the rest though, slick black leather costumes, gun and sword across their backs and masks which I think are useless like who cares about what you look like. The doors are open but I don't know whether to go in or not. I look around and realise that everyone is waiting for I don't know who. I don't know anyone so I just lean on the wall with one leg over the other next to the guard by the door and watch. One of the things I'm best at watching and waiting. No one notices me like always until I feel someone's gaze on me from my right and I see an entourage of people approaching. My eyes stray to the leader at the front of the formation but he looks around the room and lingers on me for a second but his men don't seem to notice me either until I see Captain right behind the Leader with his sidekicks left and right. He watches at me for a few more seconds then signals one of his men to me. I don't know what to do so I just follow to the back of the line. When we are inside and seated the rest of the crowd walks in and takes their positions in a surprisingly orderly manner. When we're all sitted the leader stands up.
"Evening everyone. Today we have a new member joining us Patricia Jones of team 57. Welcome. Enjoy your meals."
Nobody really takes real notice of me. They dress fancily though, you can tell at the first look that they all wear high-quality clothes and I'm so grateful to Natasha right now.
You have no idea how it feels to be somewhere knowing no one at all except the one who invited you but is doing something else. I mean hello there's a lonely person here with no idea how this works, who you invited. Looking around I take note of social classes and groupings. There are the higher-ups, you always know them when you see them. People always look and gossip and they wear poker faces unless they're with people they're fond of. There's a group of nerds in the left end of the hall. I can tell they are because they look like a glasses club, seriously they all wear eyeglasses. I can tell because they are all digital too. There are fewer groups than I expected excluding the freelancers. These are popular ones, the weird ones, the norms of course and those who care about nothing at all. There's still so many I can't place not that I like stereotyping others I just tend to observe more than usual to understand things I probably shouldn't. It's a habit I've always had.
It doesn't seem like I've dressed out of place. Everyone is wearing something different, I don't think it matters at all as long as it looks expensive. A man approaches me. He looks about in he is mid-twenties. Black shiny hair pulled back in a neat ponytail at the top of his head. Do I like guys with long hair or what? Nice slim body but broad shoulders and a big hand. I don't know why I noticed the size of his hands but I did. As he walks closer he locks his eyes on mine and girl those azure blue eyes...
"Nice to meet you Patri, my name is Sam. I noticed you aren't acquainted with anyone here yet if you don't mind I could introduce you to a few people here."
"Nice to meet you too but did you just give me a nickname."
"Oh, I just shortened it."
"Now isn't that a nickname. Please call me by my full name Patricia."
"I apologize. As you wish Patricia. May I?" He gestures to lead the way.
