Chapter 1 - The Woman in the Attic (Horror)

One windy, dark night, four friends gathered together to have a sleepover. The twins, Lucky and Rose, decided to have the sleep over in their great grandfathers ancient house. They prepared their sleepover kits, and made their way to the house.

The night began like any girls slumber party. Loud, crazy, and fun. Full of laughter, sweets, and haunting stories. Boytalk? Of course. Truth or dare? Duh.

Finally around two A.M. the four girls went to sleep. The twins sharing a blanket, and Skye and Kira sharing another.

Skye was the only one still awake as the clock struck three. Her mind had been wandering, every creak in the house jolting her awake. She had never had an easy time falling asleep. And she could swear she heard singing coming from the hall. Finally, she had enough. Careful not to wake the others, she made her way to the stairs, following the voice.

As she got closer, the singing stopped. Scared, she bolted back into the room, diving under the covers. She was shaking. Had she really just heard singing? Was someone else in the house?

After a few minutes, she could've sworn she heard someone walking down the stairs. Slow, deliberate steps. The stairs creaking, yelling out, angry for having to bear the weight. Skye's breath caught in her throat. She listened to this for three flights of stairs. From the attic.

A quiet voice, almost as hollow as the wind outside, spoke from the other side of the door.

"I found you." The voice, a woman's, said.

Skye carefully went to Lucky's side, shaking her awake.

"Lucky. Lucky!" She whispered urgently.

Lucky woke with a start, looking at Skye with blearly, half asleep eyes.

"Wha...Skye?" She asked, confusion clear in her voice.

"Quite. Someone's here!" Skye said, looking at the door.

Lucky still looked confused. She sat up, running a hand through her hair.

"Skye,it was just a nightmare."

"No, Im serious!"

"I'll go look then. But we're alone here." Lucky said, getting up and walking towards the door.

Skye followed close behind, terrified. Lucky opened the door, revealing the empty room.

"See? Nothing." Lucky said, patting Skye's head.

"I found two of you." A women's voice said.

Lucky and Skye froze. They looked up the stairs. They were alone in the room.

"Who's there?" Lucky called out quietly.

"I found two of you." The voice said again, clearly from the top of the stairs.

"Come on." Lucky said, heading up the stairs.

Skye followed, staying silent.

They reached the top. A single gray door the only thing between them and the attic.

Lucky continued, twisting the rusty knob. The door opened with a creak, and the two girls walked in.

The two whirled around, the door had slammed behind them. They turned around, coming face to face with a pale woman with pitch black eyes.

The last thing the two saw, was the others terrified face, as they screamed for the last time.

The woman had killed them. Cutting Lucky into three peices, and tieing them to a rope, keeping her as a "pet". Skye had been given a worse fate, being cut into small peices for the woman's supper. Their hands, one from Skye and one from Lucky, were hung in front of the attic door, the blood drip, drip, dripping onto the floor.

Rose and Kira woke up to the horrified screams that echoed throughout the old house. They looked around wildly.

"What was that?" Rose asked, eyes wide.

"I don't know..." Kira replied, fear lacing her voice.

The stairs creeked outside, a sound easily heard by the two terrified girls.

"Skye?" Kira asked.

No answer.

"Lucky?" Rose called out.

Again, no answer.

The footsteps stopped.

"I found the last of you." The woman said, as the door slowly creaked open.

In walked the pale women, eyes black as coal.

Rose and Kira were dragged to the attic, the two frozen with fear. There, Kira was killed and cut into pieces, made into food for the woman's new "pet". Rose was kept alive, forced to see her dead sister as she worked and worked and worked, until the end of her days. A slave to the Woman in the Attic.
