The trip to Kyoto was spontaneously planned. Ping just wanted to do something special for her lovers and they had summer break so it was a good to spend their free time relaxing away on a different environment, in a little traditional house which they rented for their stay along with a cook who serves there.
Their flight was alright but Ping was being lazy as always so they decided to just stay in the house and relax in the hot spring next door.
The next day was chaotic to say the least. Ping and Nana woke up to Wang Jiu laying on top of them in his spirit form smaller than his actually size but in his real form anyway. He got an earful for suffocating the two while they were sleeping. Ping took up folding the blankets they used while the other two went first to freshen up first. Breakfast made for them by the maid in the service was traditional and Ping didn't even know how to pronounce the meal properly so she gave up on it and just enjoyed.
"Aren't you supposed to know Japanese?" Nana had questioned the fox, something about the Japanese folk tale of multiple tailed fox stereotypes.
"Lady Nina, I'm not from here." Wang Jiu had politely answered with flushing cheeks. He gets shy when someone question his knowledge as innocently as his Lady did.
"He's Chinese like us." Ping says with a chuckle and Nana pouted but stops questioning more about it.
"Yannie, let's go find this pottery workshop." Nana squeals excitedly as she pointed at the tourist map she insisted on picking up in the airport.
"Okay." Ping nods her head and leads the way through the busy street while glancing back to make sure that Wang Jiu is following them.
It's making the fox uncomfortable to be surrounded by so many other supernatural energy in one place and Ping had suggested that he may relax back in the house but Wang Jiu insisted that he will be just fine and will be glad to have them safe with him by their side than staying back and worrying over them. It was sweet of him.. but still he was uncomfortable to walk around the space with human and non-human combined.
The shop was cosy and fairly small, but atleast Wang Jiu seem to breathe a little easier inside.
"Hello, how would you like your pot?" the worker in a brown apron approach them and lead them into an area with equipments. The place was full of different beautiful pots and it was making Nana jumpy with excitement. Since the worker spoke english, it was easier for them to interact comfortably.
"I gonna make three bowls and cups for us!" Nana comments happily.
"We'll be here alright." Ping says and pasted Nana's cheeks before she goes along with the another women employee to make her own pottery.
"Hey, how are you holding up?" Ping turn to the man sitting next to her on the waiting seat near the entrance of the shop.
Some customers glance at them but they don't mind the stares. Yes, Wang Jiu is ethereal but he was taken. thank you.
"A little better," Wang Jiu chuckles and leans down to Ping's neck to breath in the others natural scent. "It's just too many unknown scents of them mixing up with the humans is suffocating, too much for me to bear." he added after one deep breath.
"Some of them were doing mating calls, the females were overwhelming." Wang Jiu comments and Ping let out a giggle at his shyness about mating.
"You can't accept them when you have two of us already." Ping teases the fox, holding their hands together on her lap for a good measure.
"I wouldn't dare Master." Wang Jiu whispers, burying his face further into the crook of Ping's neck. "I fancy you like no other and you know that so don't- don't tease me about mating." he whines and it was so cute which has Ping giggling and patting his head affectionately. Wang Jiu being cute is rare but still highly appreciated non the less.
They sat there basking in each others silent company waiting for their other lover to be done with her pottery session. They don't need to have a conversation to spend quality time with each other anyway, their presence was enough since they could communicate without actually talking.
After the pottery workshop, they went on their way in search of a good place to eat. Nana found them a good ramen shop. It was small, a hole in the wall kinda place but it serves delicious food so it was enough for them.
It was late at night back in their room, just relaxing after getting jump on by Ping, body tangled together, limps warped around each other affectionately, exhausted but happy....
"Are there any yokai in Kyoto like in the comics?" Nana questions our of the blue.
Ping tugs the stray hairs and kisses the girl's cheeks fondly and smiles sweetly, "Yes, there is but you can't see them." she answers.
"It's better for you to stay away from them." Wang Jiu softly warns and gave Ping a look to not indulge the human further more about the demons.
"I can't even see them to stay away from them." Nana rolls her eyes playfully and pushes the naked man away from herself.. well she really wanted to push away but the fox was strong and didn't even budge when she tried.
"My Lady, your strength is only enough to lift my hair." Wang Jiu teases, smiling cheekily as he pokes the girl on the cheeks. Nana huffs as if annoyed than turn her back to the man and snuggles with Ping who was on her other side, grumbling about the fox being mean.
"I'll let you meet a cute yokai tomorrow so stop complaining and sleep now love." Ping scolds but kisses Nana on the cheek and holds her close.
"Okay." Nana whispers, tucking her head unto the others neck with a smile, because yeah she loves it when the two calls him with sweet names.
"I'm gonna go out for a bit." Wang Jiu get up from the bed and leans over from the edge to kiss his Master and Lady on the cheeks before grabbing a silk robe and walking out of the room, sliding the door close behind him.
"Where's he going?" Nana asks, pouting and snuggling more unto the others arm.
"He doesn't trust others to stay away so he's gonna be on watch while we rest." Ping replied, speaking the truth about the situation.
Nana scowls but sighs and lies quietly without a question. She knows what to expect since Ping had more or less explained to her that other creatures might cause them some trouble even when they did nothing. She's thankful that they have Wang Jiu to keep watch over them.
