Chen Yi PoV ch. 25
"They are retreating. It seems the big guns are about to come out." I nodded as I stopped the replenishing rain. "Warriors, retreat or you will die true death." As the enemy back off enough for me to dropped the Soul calling formation. I glance at Lil Lin who face was pale as she jumped towards the ground. The battle field slowly descending into silence. "Do you have enough qi to fight?" I shook my head. Holding both those formations were draining and I was barely getting any back with the deaths and magical attacks. "I can still fight head to head while you support me." Uncle Luo nodded as he took out his bow. "Good because I am almost on empty as well."
I took out two swords I have been soaking in formation for two years. Yin and Yang sword. Two crystalline swords that had the very definition of hard and soft. I glance behind me as fat man jump nimble up the clouds to stand beside us. "I figure you will need some help." His power level was considerable deep. Peak of the Fifth tier. I remember seeing him on few streams. Dong Huan was a talented mage who specialize in wind and earth magic. I only nodded while creating more clouds for Uncle Luo. It wasn't hard for me and they only became tangible when someone step on them. The enemy leader finally walk forward. His power was enough to make an average man bend his knees. To me it was just an extreme challenge. His two sidekicks broke off to par off against my two sidekicks. I was greedy person and I abhorred too much talking in fights.
So it was no big surprised I teleport in range launching my strikes one after another. The leader was no slouch as his broadsword appeared out of nowhere to block my strikes. He utilized minimum energy to block my attacks, so I utilized an energy efficient attack method. He grunted as he unintentionally used enough force to spin me around him faster than he was ready for. My blade left a dent in his armor and he took a more serious stance as we truly began dancing. His counter-strikes was fast and almost perfect. Had he used a smaller blade, I wouldn't be able to dodge his attack so easily but the wind from his great sword pushed me aside. We dance for more than forty minutes as I work on setting up a trap. He had no idea I was creating a formation at his feet. Uncle Luo and the old orc was chatting like good old friends. Which irk me and that moment of distraction, led the guy to land a devastating punch to my chin. I let the force send me back as I activated the formation. I felt a bit disappointed but we did agree to capture him and sell him after few test. I turn to see fatty struggling as chains grounded the Orc King to halt. Wrapping around his limbs until he was cocoon of metal links. I turned to Uncle Luo with scowl on my face.
"What deal did you make?" He look hurt before laughing as the ancient orc waved his hand. Freeing the Orc King and pushing the other two morons back with a wave less energy. The kind that let you know this old fogey was actually a bloody tyrant among men. He could be the peak six we were feeling and I could understand my Uncle reluctance to tangle and possible die at the old fogey hands. There was absolutely no guarantee that we could merk that son of a bitch and I would definitely not be able to capture his son so easily if he put in some effort.
"Forty percent of ores mine and three picks of their finest women, every three months." Uncle Luo said with a look of supreme delight. He had just as weird taste in women as I use to. The more exotic, the better. It didn't matter if they weren't the same species. Just that they had vagina and he could plug it. Of course, after I corrupted Bai Qiu and she imparted her knowledge to him. It no longer matter to him whether they were willing or not. He had power and safety to be blatantly criminal. Society didn't have the strength to tell him it was against their moral code. Of course, even I met a hero who wanted to avenge their sister or wife. But that's why I have a rule about dialogue with people who wish to kill you. Plus it is easier to kill them if they think you are about to apologies and stuff. In my defense, they shouldn't have look like serving women if they didn't want to get pick up and carried off.
However, I digress. The Ancient fogey led us to his city and I was bloody shock. They were in a sense just as advance as we were. Just between three mountains as natural borders. Roads laid out in a planned manner. Some buildings were on the body of the mountains. Skyscrapers set in the valley depth.
The old fogey smiled as he saw my expression. Even Uncle Luo was no exception. It didn't take us long to get to a castle on the far back mountain. The Orc King storm off along with the General. Old Fogey muttered something in their language before inviting us into library. "We will have the minerals prepared for you and the women line up. Eh, you don't want any men for the girl?" His voice was deep and had a kind of guttural accent. Uncle Luo glance at me with a certain look before thinking better of it. "Just women." Old Fogey nodded as he pick up a phone and spoke in a quick fashion. He turned to us as he dropped into a seat. "If I had known you humans were competent. I would have raided you guys before now." I raised an eyebrow and he chuckled before speaking. "We, spirit races, have a kind of an accord. We won't wage war to the point of complete annihilation of a race. We settle disputes like this with small scale skirmish or fights between champions. Like what you and my grandson did." He rubbed his white beard as he ponder about what else he forgot.
"How many races are there in this accord?" Uncle Luo spoke what was on my mind. The old fogey shrugged? "Hundreds? In this realm? Probably like fifty who have enough common sense to be taken serious or strength to make us care." He stood up as bell rung. "Let me tell you a little about your winnings." He went on about what resources they harvest and their effects. The ore and gems excited me the most. As he led us out his library into a grand hall where almost fifty-ish people stood awaiting orders?
"Aye, let me explain our tradition. Usually this only affects Urakians but we have exceptions for allies." He gestured at the Orc King who stood behind three people. Two females and boy. "When you beat someone among the noble families, you are allowed to take their possessions. In this case, you would be Queen of our fair city. However, that would not work long term." His eyes flickered to my stomach and I felt cold shiver go down my spine. "Because of this, your Uncle and I work out an even better deal. You will become tenth noble family and with your proceeds from this hard fought battle. You are second riches family here. That being said, let me explain the reason each family presented their best younger generation." He gesture at the girl wearing a rather gaudy robe. "The people who are wearing robes are shamans of our people. They naturally hold a very high standard and unobtainable in a fight between barbarians. The ones wearing normal or leather armor are our warriors. We kept to the ancient tradition that a warrior may keep his enemy possessions if they lose a duel. We don't tend to duel often because it is barbarian. However, you have a choice of four women or men from any of those here today." He waved his hands in bored manner as he emphasis barbarian. "When you choose a person, you are saying you wish to ally with that family. You should expect them to approach you after for benefits they can gain. There are also fractions. Which you can see by who is by who and how far apart they are from the other fraction." He seem a bit frustrated at their childish actions but he waved for us to go pick.
Uncle Luo was basically salivating as his eyes linger on some of the women with rather buxom bodies. I didn't really need anymore mates but my child would need teachers and nanny. The Orcs were kind of sexy in exotic way. Their small tusks that extended from their bottom lips. Palish green skin. Some of the female warriors had builds that would terrify a man. The shamans on the other hand had a kind of soft body. The fabrics they wore was made to show their sensual appeal. What was really surprising was that nobody was under six foot except the younger orcs. Uncle went to far right side to stare like a perv at the women while trying to pick one. Which was funny cause I got three. I walk to the King Orc and he grumbled as he look away from me. He had more power in his fist than I had but I supplement that with soft repellent force. It was understandable why he fail for my array trap. He was not used to that kind of trick.
I look at his daughters and noticed the warrioress had tribal tattoo along her arm and he showed it off. The Shaman had expensive piercing in her ear and belly button. Probably nipples as well. I could not tell what kind of skull it was but it was well made golden intrigue. {Teach?} I spoke in their language but I was too far away from picking up the whole language. I only heard few conversations so far and I was paying ample amount of attention. The group look surprised and the Shaman bent down as she spoke. I know I was short compared to her. Shit, compared to most. I was only five feet and six inches. Depending on what shoes I wore that day. {Who do you want me to teach, lil Shaman?} I rubbed my neck as I tried to pierce together the words before nodding in achievement. I pointed at my stomach and the girl eyes widen before she laughed. {It would be my honor.}
The old fogey smirk. "Well, since you are taking away my favorite granddaughter. How about I point out some people who might be as helpful in teaching your future brat?" He turned and waved his hand at few people who broke from the crowd from three different fractions. Only two were females and the rest were males. I guess they could choose if they wanted to be selected or not. "I'm not going to introduce them by names because I can't be bothered to remember all their names. But the two females are in top five fiercest warriors of the younger generation. They both practice a very aggressive style that is famous in the mainland. As for the guys, I am sure you don't care about them but I can't really stop families from trying to gain foothold." He shrugged and walk away. I look at the old fogey granddaughter and she smirk before shooing the males away.
"I am Bril and these two are good enough warriors. Both practice mainland martial arts and would make excellent teachers for your young one." My mouth fell open and the girl laughed as she ushered me away from the grand hall. "Aye, we all learn the common tongue of you humans. We were actually planning to raid your cities for slaves but who would have guessed you would beat us first. " She laughed and pushed open a door leading us outside. "Do you want to talk to them first or proceed to your home, here?" I shrugged and look at the two warriors who were studying me. "I am Chen Yi but in this disguised I am known…" The purple hair one spoke up. "Yin. We know, we have watched your streams for a while now. You and Yang are one of our favorite humans shamans. The way you combine your powers to do such devastating work. It really is inspiring. Even more so when you trick our King and he had no idea that your footwork was creating a trap. He was too busy getting frustrated at not being able to land a solid hit on you." She had the look of fanatic fan. The other one rolled her eyes. "I am Nain and this is Esloh. We are cousins almost and from the Western fraction. It would be an honor to serve you and your lineage."
They bowed before Bril waved at a car. "Let's go. I want to show you how much we valued the ass whooping you gave my dad. He has been very annoying lately." I tilted my head and held up a hand as presences was sitting in the dark gloomy forest of statues. I would have ignored it but it has such an impressive amount of killing intent and it was focus on me in a way that I found slightly embarrassing. I waved my hands and several large snow wolves jumped out of nothingness and rushed towards the fool. I don't always focus on hand to hand fights. That would be moronic when I could do stuff like this. I had to give the assassin credit. It fled the moment the wolves appeared but he did not understand one thing. I was a hunter of sentient creatures. He ran right into large bear's paw. I cringed as he flew back and the sound of bones breaking sounded as loud as gunshot.
Bril eyes glowed but none of them moved as two wolves pace around me in such an agitated state. The others dragged the would be assassin towards me. I bent down and pressed my hand against his head. Using a demonic skill to scour his memories but I was utterly disappointed. The objective was eliminate me but the person who paid for it was unknown to this low level lackey. What was fascinating was that the organization had spies in the King very own castle. Uncle Luo came outside with his prize. He did not look as excited about his gift but she look to be his taste. Just that she wasn't dress as extravagant as the ones from the grand hall. The Old Fogey look like he just played the perfect joke. They both glance at the wolves.
"Eat him slowly." Cries went up as the wolves bit into him. Savoring every bite. The wicked look in their eyes as they at his digits knuckle by knuckle was exhilarating. Uncle Luo cringed as one of the wolves swallow the would be assassin balls. Even I felt physical need to flinch. My subconscious was really evil. I glance behind me as Bril walk over to bush and puke out her dinner. Soon the other three girls followed. Old Fogey rubbed his neck. "It was good thing that we made that deal. Your daughter is ruthless." He shivered and Uncle Luo rubbed his neck. "Princess, I think that is enough. Finish the lad off before I lose my lunch." I rolled my eyes before the wolves move back and Snake head appeared and swallow the leftovers. I turned my head and stared at the distance mountain. Where more witnesses were hiding. Uncle Luo followed my gaze before he grabbed my shoulder. "Let the host handle the rest. We should be on our way soon. My wife will burn down my house otherwise." I sighed as I dismissed the summon spiritual beast. Old Fogey coughed. "Let me lead you to your house here then you can leave." He floated up and I summon a cloud for the others to ride on as we followed him to eastern mountain. He led us to the peak and I saw such a serene view. The top of the peak was dug out to form a valley. Inside was a lush carpet of green grass and building with sweeping roof. Which is just a curvature of the roof that curve upward at the corner. In the center is open courtyard surrounded by bilateral buildings that were connected. It was two story building that reminded me of ancient chinese architect. There was a large lake not to far and behind the mountain was large dock and ocean. Leading up to the mountain peak, valley was numerous houses.
Old Fogey led us down. "The servants are ones hand pick by my family for myself but this would make an excellent show of goodwill." Uncle Luo nodded as we toured the house. "Only problem is that this mountain has the Kerrotois Sect which is big fraction with as much power as my son's fraction. They will be extremely annoying and sometimes, I think about erasing them. Sadly, they are intricate to the kingdom and I am already on probation by the True Emperor." I raised my eyebrows and he shrugged. He waved goodbye and bounce. I turned to Brill and the other two. "You can go back home tonight if you want. I will be upgrading the defense of this place and remodeling it. Also send the servants away. I like peace and quiet while working." She followed my suggestion and kick the servants out while leaving herself. Giving me privacy. I went to find Uncle Luo who was already balls deep into his newfound toy. So much for going back home, eh?
