Chapter 60 - The Fire-saur and the Dork (3)

"Alright, so I will send my army in that village after you have burnt everything to a crisp with your army." I said. "Thats right, and then you will have Kage beat up Dāku or whatever needs to be done to bring him here." Kassai continued to read out the plan. "Then I will finish him off myself and you will throw him into the volcano." I wrapped up the end part of the plan. "And we will both have a shared victory! Wait... Who will claim that land though?" Kassai asked. "I don't think either of us should, not until after your yearly migration to the south, we must let nature restore itself first." I answered him. "Okay, we will discuss this when I return from migration, do you have your evacuation plan in place?" Kassai asked. "Yes, I am always on the scout for new areas, Just please remember to fly over our village and make it known. Preferably in a way that doesn't include burning my head off in the process like last year." I answered back sarcastically. "Aw! but that's the best part! Fine ya oversized dork! I'll hold off this year. Only if you let me meet your new found 'friend' as you say." Kassai tried to negotiate with me. "To be honest, I think we both know she is more then a friend." Kassai mumbled under his breath. "What?" I asked, completely missing what he said. "Oh nothing~ Just don't make me wait to long to be an uncle! Also! Don't forget to let me be invited to the wedding~" Kassai teased me. "Or maybe you won't wait until the wedding and there'll be a flower girl or a blade bearer!" Kassai teased more. "HAR HAR! Very funny." I said sarcastically. "Also, who said I need a blade bearer? My leaves are plenty strong enough for the blood unity!" I said as I puffed out my chest dramatically in offence. "Are you sure? You've fought in countless wars by my side, those leaves of yours are bound to be blunt by now, surely!" Kassai continued to taunt me. "Of course not ya oversized lizard! I'm not as old as old Aki! I mean, When was the last time he even used a move?" I said, turning the teasing abuse to the elder. "That's true, that's something I can't argue with since, he hasn't used a single move since the Great War!" Kassai replied. "Lest we forget their sacrifices, if it wasn't for your elder and my late grandparents, then we both most likely wouldn't have been who we are today." I said. "Lest we forget." Kassai said in agreement.

"Well, I'll be off now." I said after a few minutes of comfortable silence which then gradually turned slightly awkward. " Yeah! You mustn't leave the wife waiting, eh?" Kassai teased. "Har Har." I said sarcastically as I walked out.

After I had healed Kurai, Yoru walked over and lightly placed his large hand on my shoulder. "Hey, here." Yoru said as he handed me a piece of paper. I then recognised that it was Hikari's handwriting, he seemed to be in a rush when writing it because the handwriting was slightly on the messy side but it was still relatively neat. "Thanks Yoru." I said as I began to read it. The note read; _______________________________________________

Dear Hailey,

I'm sorry I had to leave so suddenly. An urgent meeting came up with the volcano tribe, they are, and have been in alliance with us before my time or even my grandparents time, I have basically grown up with Kassai, the leader of that tribe. So don't worry. By the time you've read this I'm probably on my way back home. Until then, I leave Yoru to look after you until then, he's more responsible then Kurai. He was also the Lost Princess's offical royal body guard. So I trust him to an extent. Stay inside the hut until I return, I want to keep you safe.

From,

Hikari.

"What did it say Hailey?" Yoru asked. "It said You're in charge of... U-uh... J-Just read it." I said bashfully. After a few minutes of reading it, Yoru nodded.
