When Jack arrive in Mei's tent to tell that there was food, he found her sleeping on the ground. For the first time, she looked peaceful and fully fine. Since they met, Jack always found that Mei looked sick and pale. In the end, she was always fighting until she would run out of energy.
Jack shook her a bit to make her up. Seeing that she didn't wake up. He whispered "Mei,wake up food ready."
Mei slowly opened her eyes to found Jack's face upon hers. Instinctively, she punched him in the stomach. Jack roll over in pain. Mei rushed to him worried "Are you okay??? I'm sorry!"
Jack laughed in pain. He weakly got up holding his stomach in pain "Why are you so aggressive?"
Mei rolled her eyes and sighed "Aggressive? You shouldn't be so close to my face."
Jack passed his hand in his hair "Do I look handsome? That's why you don't want me too close huh?"
Mei slapped his arm in disagreement. "Why are you so narcissistic? I think it's because you stink." To that, Jack start to smell himself. Mei laughed at him "You really believe that?! You are really foolish you know??"
Jack pouted "I'm not foolish Mei, I'm playing your game."
Anna extravagantly waved her hand and turned back "Of course, you aren't Jack. Right, you just extremely stupid."
Jack stayed quiet and got to jugged to catch up. Mei sighed when Jack joined her. He smiled to her. "If you can reach the principal tent before me, I leave you alone okay?"
Mei scoffed "Deal!" Mei might have sound confident but she truly wasn't. Jack was truly fast and she wasn't. She created a countdown with water and on the count of three both them sprinted.
Jack was a little bit faster than Mei and let his guards down. He was sure that Mei wouldn't be able to catch up. But he quickly heard a evil laugh coming from behind. Mei was now closer and closer to him and when she was besides him, she pushed him hard. Jack fell on the ground and stared blankly at Mei who was still running.
Of course, Mei won the bet but she was out of breath. Jack came to her with an angry face "You cheated!"
Mei shrugged "You never told the rules. In anyway, I won you lost. That's it." Mei enter the tent sweating while everyone was eating. She sat on the ground besides Lily.
"Why are you so exhausted?"
Mei patted her hair " Let's just say I ran for my tranquility."
Lily looked at her confused, then continue to eat quietly. In the corner of her eyes, she saw Mary stared at Mei. While Mei was eating, Lily was making grins to Mary. She wanted her to know that Mei was far better than her. She will always be since like Yokuro said she's the last hope they got. Even though, Lily never lived in this destroyed empire, she believed that's where she belongs.
