A short but pleasant melody played on the speakers, signalling that the school day had started.
As students rushed to clean, or get back to their seats, a tall and oppressing aura entered the room. The ominous aura belongs to the most feared teacher at the school.
Teacher Gu.
Although he was the dream man for many of the female and sometimes male teachers at school, he was colder than the planet Neptune!
But Yaorui being Yaorui, was his favourite student. Why? Because he was her father's best friend. His son, (surprising right?) had taken a liking to her. Every time, he left to visit Yaorui's father, his five-year-old son would tag along. And every time his son saw the girl, he ran to her like an over-excited puppy. Sometimes he pitied his son, the girl treated him so well that his son would often be led on by her.
"One day, I'll grow up! Just you wait, Yaoyao Jie! And when that happens, I'll marry you!" He quoted his son in his head, remembering his son's chubby cheeks and innocent round eyes that shone with determination. He really was his father's son.
"Good Morning, Teacher Gu." He snapped out of his daze, and paid attention to the class.
"You may have a seat," he said, preparing to take the attendance.
After attendance, he briefed the class on what the exam will consist of, and how the students will be sorted. "95% to 100% Class A, 80% to 94% Class B, 65% to 79% Class C, 50% to 64% Class D, anywhere below 50% and you will automatically be put in Class F. There are one hundred questions and about sixty pages, you all have four hours to complete this exam, which means at least twenty-five questions for every hour. Any questions?" Seeing that no one raised their hands or stood up, Teacher Gu began the exam.

As she passed the stack of surprisingly light tablets back, she turned on her own and begun to answer the questions.
The test was organized from the easiest questions to the hardest ones, and was a mix of different subjects, this made the test harder because the students were forced to switch gears, almost, every question. Imagine from going from quantum mechanics to looking for problems in a story, to the periodic table. It's hard and confusing, but being in a school filled with kids who have IQs above 150, it's easier for them to switch gears. Except when you get to a question that isn't in your area of expertise.
To make it fair to some of the kids who only have one or two subjects that they prevail in, the school adds personalized questions at the end of the test to help raise the student's mark to where it should be.
Two hours later, Yaorui is the first person to complete the test, one of the perks of being a fast learner, she patted herself on the back twice, one was because she was the first one to complete the test, and two was because she managed to get 100% on the exam.
The worksheets given to her by her sister in law were very handy, not only did it save a lot of her time while taking the test but she was able to get rid of the awkward atmosphere earlier between her and her new deskmate.
She wasn't going to lie, he was growing on her.
Yaorui ripped out a corner of her a page in her book and wrote on it handing it to Hu Angli as she made her way to the front with all her stuff.
"Uncle Gu?" She said, "I'm done," I placed the exam tablet back on his desk.
"Li Cheng is waiting in the teacher's room for you. You can walk around the school, just make sure you stay quiet. Okay?"
"I understand Uncle, I'll look after him for you." I gave him a polite smile, bowed, and left.

Hu Angli's POV
The effect of his Bao Bei's [1] warmth leaving his side was immediate. It was like she was leaving him all over again. He did not like this feeling.
"Calm down, Angli, the faster you finish the test, the faster you get to see her." And so, with that thought, Angli was able to finish the remaining two questions in five minutes.
He gathered up his things and prepared to leave.
"Psst~Angli." He heard a whisper behind him, "You dropped this." Song Gebao handed him a piece of paper. He took it and gave it a look.
Call me when you're done with the exam.

Hu Angli smiled, this was the first thing that was given to him by his Senpai. How could he not be happy? He was going to treasure this forever.
"Thank you, Song Gebao," with newfound confidence, he strutted towards the teacher's desk and handed his exam tablet in.
"Very good, Angli." Teacher Gu grabbed the tablet and placed it over top of Yaorui's, "You'll catch her by the teachers' room if you hurry."
Angli looked at his teacher stunned, whereas, Teacher Gu acted as if he hadn't said a word.
"If I were you, I'd leave right now." Snapping out of his daze, Hu Angli broke out into a sprint, distracting the other students on his way out.

Li Yaorui's POV
"I'm here for Gu Licheng," She says as she reaches the front desk.
"Teacher Gu told me about you, you may enter. At the back to your left."
"Thank you."
Li Yaorui made her way towards the back of the office, she kept glancing at her phone to see if Angli had called or texted her yet. She knew he was going to finish soon since he was able to help her with her homework earlier.
"Cheng Cheng? Where are you?"She said, opening the door slowly in case there was a teacher inside napping.
"Yaorui Jie?" Yaorui moved in the direction of the voice. "Where are you? Hmm...I must be dreaming again." Licheng sat in the back of the room. One of his tiny hands reached up to rub his eyes before he back down to continue his nap.
Yaorui almost fainted from the cuteness overload. Contrary to her uncle's sharp features, Cheng Cheng had chubby cheeks, round adorable eyes, a cute button nose, and a pair of pouty lips. He was by far the cutest child she had ever met.
Yaorui took a seat right next to Cheng Cheng and laid her head down on her arms. She began to hum her and Cheng Cheng's song, luring him back into the comfortable arms of sleep. It wasn't long until she fell asleep alongside Cheng Cheng.

Hu Angli's POV
"Hi, did a girl go to the Teachers' room, about twenty minutes ago?" Angli was a 'bit' stressed because he was unable to locate the office.
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"Her teacher sent me to get her."
"At the back to the left."
"Thank you,"
Hu Angli sped walk toward the back, forgetting about the command that his little Waifu had written him.
"Yaorui?" He carefully opened the door, making sure that not a sound was heard, Angli wanted to see if he could scare his princess.
As he scanned the room for any sign of his one and only, he caught a glimpse of a small child nestling himself in a chair. Curious, Angli crept over to find that his GIRL, was hugging another MAN! (Well, a little boy, but that doesn't matter.)
Fuming, Hu Angli made his way over to his Rui'er, and picked her up bridal style, making sure that her arms were successfully hidden away from the scheming child.
"Hmph! Dare to take MY empress away from me! Never!" This statement, however, was louder than he thought, and the little boy dared to wake up.
"YAHHHH! Why did you take my future wife away from me! You are a thief! A HOMEWRECKER!" The minute Licheng had woken up, he immediately saw his future wife in the arms of a kidnapper. He continued to scream words that five-year-olds should not know at the kidnapper.
Hearing the words of the five-year-old kid, he immediately retorted.
"What do you mean FUTURE WIFE! She's MY FUTURE WIFE! Plus, you're just a little boy, what can you do?"
"I'm gonna gro-," Cheng Cheng instantly saw his future wife stir he began to cry and sob.
"What's all the noise?" Yaorui said in a dazed voice, but when the sounds of her little Meng Bao [1] cries, her dazed self disappeared and was replaced with instant worry and rage.
Not realizing that she was up in the air, Yaorui reached over towards her little Cheng Cheng and began to coo at him, "Are you alright my Meng Bao? What happened? Come tell Yaorui Jie. She will protect you."
*sniff* "Th-that evil man tried to t-take you away from me!" After that sentence, Licheng returned to his pitiful cries. It was then she realized that her feet were not on the ground, and familiar strong arms were the culprit.
"Hu Angli! Put me down! I need to comfort my little Meng Bao!" Unable to resist his Waifu's words, Hu Angli set her down ever so carefully. The minute she was let down, Yaorui rushed towards her Cheng Cheng and enveloped him in her arms. "Shh~Yaorui Jie is here. Don't cry."
Gu Licheng gave a smug look to the man-baby in front of him, making sure to show him that Yaorui Jie was his.
"This little rascal," Thankfully, Angli was smart enough to hold back his tongue. He kept mentally throwing insults to the prick while he was tortured seeing the sight of his beloved's arms around another.
Seeing that Licheng's cries have calmed, Yaorui started to gently interrogate her Cheng Cheng, "What happened, what made you cry?"
"The sca- *sniff* scary man calling me n- *sniff* names, and tried to t- *sniff* take you away. He even hurt me!" Gu Licheng made sure to use all his adorable weapons on Yaorui Jie. His puffy, round, adorable eyes, and his tiny, shy, and scared voice. He hung his head low and added sniffles in to make it even more believable, and he did not forget to produce fake tears in the corner of his eyes.
All these little things instantly melted Yaorui's heart. On top of that, she saw the bruises on Cheng Cheng's knees and the scrapes on his elbows.
"Did he do this?" She said, looking at his knees and arms.
"Y-yes," No, he was jumping on his bed and scraped his elbows on his rock collection.
"Hu Angli, care to explain?"
"Check the CCTV's! They'll tell you everything!" Yaorui thought over this idea and decided that it was best.
"Fine, come Cheng Cheng, Yaorui Jie will carry you to the surveillance room."
"Really?" Yaorui nodded. "Yay!" Without a second delay, Gu Licheng jumped into her arms and stuck his tongue out to Angli.
Li Yaorui, Hu Angli, and Gu Licheng exited the teacher's room and began their search for the surveillance room.
