Chapter 1 - Going Home Twice

Coming home from a trip over seas with a solved case always brought Carson Drailith much pleasure. And when he got home he had quite the surprise waiting for him in his mail box.

As Carson sat down behind his desk, he looked at the letter in his hands. 'No return adress or stamp.' he thought.

'Well, no matter might as well open it.' Inside was a letter from a quite unplessant man. It read.

'My Dear Carson,

I have to tell you, while your career choses do dissapoint me, I will not have the family legacy end with you.

Pack you bags, tommorow evening Williams will be bringing you home to meet your fiancé. I will here no more of it. You are marrying her and thats that. Your Father,'

"The old buzzard won't quite it will he?" Carson said as he folded the letter back into the envelope. Carson loved his father dearly but...he could be over bareing. 'Well off to home then I supose.' As Carson packed a few of his belongings, William knocked on the door.

"I am very sorry Young Master Carson. But your father insisted that I should come tonight even though he stated tommorow. So that he doesn't have to worry about you running off."

'ah, so didn't trust me after all' (of course Carson had run off before...) "It's alright William, you are only doing your job. But tell me, what does he really want to talk to me about?" William looked as though he expected it, for William had seen the Young Master do much more remarkable things as a child. "Forgive me Young Master, but it is not my place. But please, do tell how you figured it out this time."

"He wrote 'My Dear Carson,'. Fathers always write 'Dear Son,' when it is a family matter. So therefore it is a business matter, and my business is investigating."

William smiled "You haven't lost your touch while over seas, good."

"I certaintly hope not." Carson replied. "Come on then lets get going. A new case is waiting me at the manor."
