Chapter 25 - Alchemy Part 1

The process is good and I managed to get a good amount of Flame Boulders. Time for me to process the items and hand it to Almira. Arriving in the main entrance around the Scorching Lands where the Flame Sprites are located is already full of players currently farming those monsters.

I shook my head but also, I was satisfied that they arrived. If not, I might not have saw the Elite Flame Sprites and gain a bounty. I cast Concealment II and Silent sprint, silently dashing out the area without being noticed.

With everything in hand, I head to the Alchemy Store. There, the Old Man currently looking scholarly is guarding the store. This guy is Simon, Simona's father and for some reason, he is much more older than what should be. I did not get to know his past as I have not gone too much in Alchemy as it has too many things needed to be watched out. He really love alchemy and in the past, a player who only focused on Alchemy managed to uncover his past which is unknown to me.

This time I will be learning the ropes on Alchemy. I know in the past that playing as an Alchemist can further your talent in Alchemy and since I am a Versatile, I can use the Alchemist class in my advantage. Players who do Alchemy are so rich in the past that they can be considered tycoons in game and in real life as they can earn money easily.

When I entered the shop, the old man seems indifferent to me. It looks like his perception to me is too low. I did not let it get to me. It is a system and to further your relationship to a certain someone, you need to talk to him or her in a friendly manner always.

I did not go directly to bother him. From my past experience, if you ask him directly, his standards on you will lower, reducing your chance to get tutored by him. Instead of going to him, I scanned around the shop and when I saw the Alchemy tables on the side of the shop, I headed there directly and admire the tables. In actuality, they are just a table with an Alchemy Circle. They have a drawer that can procure any tools needed in Alchemy like mortar and pestle. If this really exist in real life, I wonder if the world today will believe the Physics and Chemistry or into the magical power of Alchemy.

The Alchemy table is made exquisitely. From the touch, I can tell that this Alchemy table is made from a 10,000 year old Sycamore Tree. I can tell since I am an appraiser in the game and I can automatically procure any good info to the client if I know its history, thanks to my photographic memory. This appraisal is nothing to me.

Simon who seemed to be observing me seems curious to what I am currently doing and approached me. Seeing me admiring the Alchemy Table, he sighed.

"You seemed interested in the Alchemy Table," Simon said weakly.

"Yeah, I wanted to try Alchemy but due to the lack of knowledge, I have to slowly learn its basics. I am currently looking for a good Alchemy Table to start but I am not sure which is actually the good one," I said truthfully. Those words have no lie in it. Its the truth. I have no experience in using Alchemy at all.

"I see, from what I can tell, your job class is a Versatile. Apparently, only Alchemists can really succeed in this side job but your class is different as it can cope up different classes and that includes the Alchemist," he puff out some smoke from his tobacco pipe before he continued, "If you want, I can teach you though with a fee. Nothing is free in this world now kid, if you want something there should be an equal item to barter or exchange, that is the rule of Alchemy," Simon said.

I heard that line in Full metal Alchemist, so that line is really existing in Alchemical World.

"I see, then I can do that, how much?" I asked, ready to fork out my money.

"I don't need money, I need an item. From what I can see from you, you are someone strong. I bet you can get it. In exchange, I can give you free lessons on learning Alchemy, what do you say?"

After saying that last sentence, a quest panel appeared.

"Simon's request 1/20"

Difficulty: Easy

Description:

Simon wanted you to fetch 20 Flame Boulders for the beginning of the alchemy tutorial.

Flame Boulders 50/20

Reward: ???

Well, that is a coincidence. Flame Boulders huh.

"Coincidentally sir, I have those things you wanted me to fetch," I handed the 20 flame boulders to him.

He nodded after receiving the 20 boulders, he obviously did not care if I have it earlier or not.

"Well, you are eager, then take this and scram. If you want to earn another tutorial then return here bringing the Black Stone Shard," Simon said and push the Sycamore Alchemy Table and for some reason he also put a magazine like book, From what I can tell, it's a tutorial book for a job.

"Alchemy for Apprentices"

Well, that is sure good, I bow down to him and the Alchemy Table turned into a shards of light and goes directly into my inventory, NOT IN MY BACKPACK. Dude, I don't have a very handy backpack that can carry that item inside. Inventory are known as Space Magic but those things will come sooner, not now. It's still early.

I cast Concealment II once again and uses the Silent Sprint to return to the inn. I greeted Lily before I rushed to my room. After doing so, I opened my inventory and pull out the Alchemy Table. I admired the exquisite handicraft of this table that I thought this is a real item in the real world. If it exist in the real world it can fetch millions of yen.

I opened my inventory and pulled out the unprocessed Flame Boulders. I really need to go to ALmira after this, its been a few days since I have accepted the quest. I might not know much on Alchemy but this is going to get interesting. At least, my mind is not occupied with those players. After doing this, I should track down the boss and get started to the Abyss mode.
