Prologue
"Thanks a lot, Lo!" Jim thanked her as he gathered his things before rushing out of the store.
"Sure, got nothing to do anyways." Penelope waved at him slightly and the sound of the door closing reminded her that she's alone in the shop. Great. Her phone died just minutes ago and she can't use it while charging because there's no outlet near the counter that she's supposed to be at. That and she didn't bring her charger with her today. The magazines were uninteresting too. She's going to bored out of her mind. The candies and snacks placed near the counter starts to look really good to use as a time-killer.
She assumed she could nap a little since it's almost midnight and even a single customer this time would be unusual. On second thought, Penelope wasn't a person who process things fast. And reacts fast. A thief could enter the shop loudly and trash the whole place but she won't even wake up.
Heck, the thief could even make it rain with bullets and she won't bother to move!
On third thought, no one would want to rob an almost empty shop. Today's earnings were already collected by the owner too. They only wanted to man the store at times like this to maintain their 24/7 reputation. There's practically nothing of high value worthy to be stolen. Chips, drinks, snacks and treats were all there were. Napping should be fine right?
The girl yawned and rested her head against the counter to take her nap. Only to be interrupted by chiming that means someone walked through the door. Penelope looked up towards the potential customer and wondered why it took her ten seconds to process that said 'customer' just fired the gun he was holding pointing to her.
"Dodge the bullet, Human!"
Stupid. That's the only word Penelope managed to think of before the bullet pierced her skull.

Will it be weird to stare at your own dead body (with a bleeding hole on the forehead) and listen to a supposed god talking (read: yelling) beside you?
"I'm very sorry! I swear to my godly self I didn't mean it! I just wanted to have a night walk in the mundane world for a change, but some disgusting humans wanted to rob me so I decided to steal their disgusting weapons and I entered your disgusting looking store and it just shot off!" The deity, whose name is actually Perfidio, explained while moving his arms around.
Yeah, like anyone, especially a god, could 'accidentally' shoot somebody accurately in the middle of their forehead. And why would someone just walk into a shop and 'accidentally' fire a stolen gun?
Penelope remembers thinking about something stupid. What was it again? Her not realizing she's going to get shot? Or this deity that tried to make her dodge a bullet?
She looks at her lifeless body again. Her body was in a very awkward situation. Penelope was sitting on a tall stool by the counter when she was shot, the force caused her (and the chair) to fall back to the ground with her arms abnormally splayed and her feet tangled on the fallen stool.
Stupid Penelope, how could she forget to have the right posture before dying?
"Wow, that looks disgustingly stupid." She glared at the god before nodding, "Yeah, it's not my best."
Perfidio was silent for a while and then smiled at Penelope, "As compensation, I'll give you my newest creation! Since I accidentally ended your life, you can have System Awesome."
"Why would I want that? And System Awesome is a pretty lame name."
"Penelope is a disgusting name too!"
"Perfidio sounds gay."
The god is starting to get pissed, he inhaled and exhaled, "That's not an insult, it doesn't count. I win!"
"Wasn't trying to insult yo---"
"Shh shh shh! Don't interrupt me!"
Penelope wondered if this man was really a god or just a fraud.
"Anyway, my system will give you opportunity to experience different lives and continue living. You might even go back to your own world!" Perfidio continued. Penelope shrugged and shook her head, "I don't really want it. Plus, why would I trust someone I don't even know anything about except their name."
The deity groaned and started to explain, "I'm Perfidio, the Great Betrayal God! How come you don't know about me?"
"No one does. And why would I trust someone who's the god of betraying?"
"Hush! Enough with your questions! My godly self has chosen you to be my precious system's host! Accept it, you can live again you know?" the god continued to push the system to the girl. She sighed, "Let's say I'll be the host, what happens then?"
"You're going to be sent to different worlds with one main task. You need to betray someone to save said world. Simple as that."
So it's like those system stories she once read huh? Only this is much weirder and suspicious at the same time. Penelope knows there's a hidden intention somewhere behind the god's lines. And betrayal isn't her thing.
"I don't like betraying."
"It's for the sake of the world's balance! And you can buy with points!"
"Yeah, even if you say that, it still isn't my thing."
Perfidio groaned, "Just get on with it." With a snap of his fingers, Penelope was transferred to her first mission world.
