Ten years ago, Zhang Yu Han was the captain of his school's basketball club. On that day, his school was competing against LH high school's basketball club. The boy's team had won against LH High School, and he was accompanying his friends to watch the woman's match.
At that time, the girl was not chosen as the main player, probably because of her short height. Therefore, she spent most of her time on the bench.
Zhang Yu Han was on his break when he noticed the girl leap on the court and dribbling the ball alone on the empty court. Zhang Yu Han was immediately smitten. Although the girl's skill was lacking, Zhang Yu Han liked watching her practicing around and having fun.
His heart pounded hard as he watched her stopped in the middle of the court and attempted to shoot a three-pointer. His hands subconsciously tightened as he prayed that the ball would go in into the basket.
And it did.
The girl stared at the hoop absentmindedly for a few seconds before she started to jump in joy.
It was at that time that she turned around. Their gaze met and she stood there as if stunned. She nodded at him before she ran off the basketball court.
Zhang Yu Han could not forget the joy in her expression when the ball went. Seeing her face made his heart raced. Subconsciously, his lips tilted up to a smile.
He doesn't believe in love at first sight, but as he watched her, Zhang Yu Han knew that he had his heart set on this girl.
After the match was over, Zhang Yu Han went to look for the girl. He was anxious. It was the first time he was going to initiate a conversation with a girl. However, once he arrived at LH High School's side, Zhang Yu Han could not find her. When he asked around about the girl, no one seemed to know anything about her.
Even when he sent his men to investigate the girl he saw on the basketball court, they could not come out with a result.
It was as if she never existed. It was like she was never a part of LH High School. Everything felt like a dream to him.
He was frustrated.
He didn't even know her name!
Back in Sanctuary Coffee shop, Zhang Yu Han continued to be absentminded as he watched the girl rummaging through her bag. She pulled out a mobile phone and extended her arms to him.
Li Qin Yao frowned as she saw the man was in a daze. She coughed lightly when he did not respond. "Yours. You don't want it back?"
He stared at the phone in her hand.
Only then did he remembered his intention for coming to the city early in the morning. He had come to return the phone in his hand back to its owner and get back his.
Zhang Yu Han took out her phone from his pocket and exchanged their phone.
"You have new messages." Li Qin Yao said to him. "Someone texted you since this morning."
"Oh." he merely shot a glance at his phone and went back to stare at the girl before him.
As soon as she got her phone back, the first thing Li Qin Yao did was to check for missed calls and messages, while he continued to stare stupidly at her.
The phone in his hand vibrated, and a short tone rang. Zhang Yu Han stared at his phone and saw that there were a few messages, and emails. Then he noticed the battery bar on the top of his phone.
The last time he checked, his battery was at 40 percent. But now, the battery was at 99 percent.
"You charged the battery," he commented.
Li Qin Yao paused from whatever she was doing to look at him. She was too busy checking her messages that she did not notice that he was still around. It seemed that she had momentarily forgotten that she was not alone.
"Thank you." His lips curved upwards as he lifted his gaze to look at her.
"No problem," she smiled.
His throat felt dry as he watched her smiling face. His lips parted as he was going to say something to her, but in the end, he did not know what he wanted to say.
Li Qin Yao was disheartened as she lowered her head to look at her phone again. Her phone battery was very low. It probably could last for ten minutes top.
Her smile faded. Li Qin Yao wished that he would have the decency to help her charge her phone. Li Qin Yao slid her phone into her bag and turned to the man before her. "I have to go now. Thank you for coming over with my phone."
Before he could snap out of his trance and say something, the girl had already disappeared from his sight. He went out to chase after her and failed.
There was definitely something wrong with him today. His reaction seemed to be a bit slower than usual. He was too preoccupied with staring at the girl that he had lost his chance to ask for her contact. Again.
The first time he saw her, he lost his chance to talk to her. After nine years, it looked like history had repeated itself. But, at least this time, he had learned her name.
Zhang Yu Han twirled the phone in his hand and searched for a name in his contact.
"Jun Hao," he spoke as soon as the phone was connected. "Help me find a person."
