Chapter 4 - Moving in(Revised)

Beth was driven home to collect her things. Her mother was not home like always. All of her things fit in two boxes and one suit case. She left a letter for her mom telling her she found a job and a place to live. She left the phone number incase her mother would care but she is sure she won't hear a word from her.

The driver takes her to Harrington Plaza where she will be living and the door man gets a cart for her things. In the elevator he shows her how to use her pass to go to the penthouse. He explains that you can't use the elevator without the pass.

When the doors open, she was already in the apartment. "Wow" she says to her self.

An older gentleman is standing there and smiles, "You must be Miss Walker."

"Yes, but call me Beth please." Beth says taking his had.

"Ok, Beth it is please follow me to your room. Is this all you have or will more be delivered. " he said.

"No this is all I own."Looking around Beth is over come with butterfly's as she looks at all the wonderful things around her.

"This is your room. Dinner is a 7 sharp. My name is Charles if you need anything just ask. That door there leads to your Bathroom and that door there leads to the young masters room." Charles says as he points to each door.

"Is AJ home yet?" she asked.

"No, Master Poe and young master have not arrived yet. Will there be anything else" He said.

"No I got it." he walked out and closed the door leaving her to unpack her things. The room as beautiful. A big canopy bed with red and blue ruffles. The closet alone was bigger then her mom's apartment.

She Opened the door to the bathroom and almost went to the floor. There was a big bathtub, big enough for two. The shower on the other wall had the big rain fall head and two smaller head on the side.

There was a full makeup vanity and full sink. She felt like she had died and gone to heaven.

She unpacked and found places for all her thing. Then headed out to find the dining room. When she came across the room it was 5 minutes till 7 so she was not late and taking a seat at the table where AJ, Jack and Alex were already seated.

"There you are, come sit next to AJ" Alex said."Did you get all settled into you room?"

"Yes, Thankyou. The room is lovely." Beth said.

"Charles, you can serve the food now everyone is here." Alex then asked,"Tell me a little about yourself Beth?"

"What would you like to know?"she said

"Anything, family, friends, school, hobbies. I know nothing about my son's PA." he stated.

Beth took a deep breath and begain" I have no family but my Mom, and she never wanted a child. I was raised by a neighbor till I was in my early teens. I lived a short time on the streets so I raised my self. I worked part time to be able eat and cloth myself. My mother did pay for shelter and utilities after the police made me return to her. I have one friend from my street days. Kids in school bullied me so I stuck to being alone. I loved school, I graduated with a 4.0 and on the dean's list. I don't have any hobbies unless you count reading. I can never get enough reading done. Anything else?" she stuck her fork into her chicken and took a bite.

He was floored by her answer. He had no idea that she went through so much. She is still just a child. He was 28 and she had to be 17? 18? so he asked. "How old are you?"

Beth look up and Answered "18 and I will turn 19 in June."

He watch her eat her meal. He was smitten by her but there is 9 year difference and his heart acked because of it.

Everything was quite while they ate dinner. When dessert came AJ said,"Daddy will you show Beth how to get me ready for bed."

"Yes I will... just for you."Then took a bite of peach flombay.

After dinner Alex started to explain to Beth,"Little man likes lots of bubbles in his bath. His favorite toys are in the net there. Ducky pirates are the only toy he won't take a bath with out. He will play for about an hour. Then when he is done he is put in his jammies and put to bed."

She watched as Alex bathed his son. She felt the warm love between father and son. Soon AJ was ready and being carried in to bed.

"Daddy please read me Good Night Alexander " AJ said with a yawn.

"Ok buddy, Good night is coming do not run. Good night is coming for Alexander to have fun. Good night is coming with dreams so real. Good night is coming for Alexander to feel. Sleep tight good night." AJ was asleep.

Alex motioned for Beth to follow. Once they were out of the room and door was closed he said,"Little man loves that story, it is one I have read to him every night since he was born. Come with me I want to talk."

Beth followed Alex to a library. It was amazing. It was filled with many kinds of books. She got dizzy looking around.

Alex laughed, "You can browse and borrow any book in here. But that is not why I brought you here. I want to talk about my son."

Beth looked at him and gave her full attention to him,"Ok I am listening."

"First I want to thank you for seeing what my son needed. He talked non stop all the way home. Second I need to tell you about his mother Lilly. I fell in love at first sight with Lilly and we were married with in three days. She got pregnant on our honeymoon and 40 weeks later Little man was born. Lilly tried, I think, but marriage and motherhood was not what she wanted. So she left us, then a year later I got divorced papers. She married a man in Hollywood and we have never heard from her since. I am telling you this so if he asked you know the story. He had yet to ask about his mother but just incase."

Beth was puzzled, "Do you want me to tell him the truth if he asked?"

"No, what I want you to tell him is his mother loved him but had to leave " he said.

"Ok"Beth was still puzzled on why he told her the story. He could of just told her what to say and leave it at that.

"Look around and borrow anything you like."Alex then walked out leaving her all alone.

She walked around pulling out books and putting them back till she came across a story about a dragon and his true mate. She then went to her room to read.
