Irvene's point of view
The ominous dark room smelled rusty blood, and nothing could be found except the pale woman lying on the ground. Her long silver hair was stained with crimson color because of the injuries from her body. If not for her injuries, the woman would look like in a deep slumber, and not be disturbed in this cold, eerie presence of the place.
I walked towards the unconscious woman on the stone floor and knelt down. Her body is cold, and there's no sign of her pulse.
I looked worriedly at my friends. Meryll hurriedly went near us and felt the woman's body.
"She's so cold," Meryll uttered. I didn't fail to see her curled fists and her trembling body.
"There's something wrong in this place," she continued.
"What is it?" Vaughn asked while still standing and explored the room.
"I heard the cries of people here, pleading for help, but we only found one person," Meryll said.
"Then it's possible that they knew someone would infiltrate their area, and immediately moved out of this place. We saw a portal outside, and it seems they're not finished because the woman is still here." Vaughn explained.
"Unfortunate for them, we already saw the woman, but I guess she's dead," he continued.
"Those wicked people!" Meryll shouted.
"What should we do with her?" I asked. We couldn't leave the lifeless woman in this sinister place. Those wicked persons just as Meryll said, would bring her back with them.
"We could take her to the castle using a portal," Vaughn suggested.
A loud crash suddenly appeared and quickly turned our heads outside. It must be the enemies that came out from the portal. They came back and it meant the woman has a tinge of importance to them but in a horrible way.
"We should hurry!" I said.
We looked at her body, thinking how would we escape with her without the enemy's knowledge. "I have my portal here, and I'll bring her with me to the castle, while Vaughn will take you back there with his portal after helping Sid," I said.
Afterward, they nodded at me. They're about to touch the woman to help me carry her at my back when her eyes suddenly opened. Their hands stopped at midair after witnessing that unbelievable thing.
"S-she's not dead?" Meryll blurted out.
The three of us stared at her silver eyes with a small portion of red color in it. Her blank face and not moving body maintained except for her opened eyes. The color of her hair and eyes perfectly matched each other.
Upon seeing that combination, I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity. It's like I have seen it before, but I couldn't seem to remember. Even a vague memory hadn't come up in my mind.
Nevertheless, it's not time to reminisce things. I have to do my part. Meryll and Vaughn already went outside and fight them.
I touched the woman's arms and would carry her when her body began to disappear into thin air and a white ball of light floated into my hands.
"What is this?" I said.
It materialized into a small white marble. I immediately hid it in my infinite storage bracelet. I still kept this one, although no one knows about it besides me alone. I don't want to attract attention if someone happens to hear about this one.
I stood up and went outside. Vaughn, Meryll and Sid were standing safely while four men are lying on the ground.
"Irvene, why haven't you used the portal yet?" Vaughn asked me in confusion.
"Her body disappeared into thin air, so I don't need to use the portal anymore," I said.
"What? Why did it happen?" Meryll asked.
"A woman?" Sid followed.
"I'll explain later. It's not best to talk here," I said.
"There's nothing in the room now, so it's better if we go home already," Vaughn said.
We nodded at him. I used my portal and we instantly reached the castle. The four of us went to our own rooms to fix ourselves. Their clothes were tattered after they fought the enemies, so they fixed themselves first.
I took out the small white marble from my bracelet and observed this one. It might look ordinary to anyone, yet I could feel something was inside this marble.
"That woman's body became like this. Maybe it contained her powers? Spirit? I wanted to know," I said.
Some possibilities why did the marble appear lingered through my mind until I heard knocks on my door. I stood up from my seat and opened the wooden door. Vaughn, Meryll and Sid were standing in front of my room, and I let them enter.
Like any other day, we chose to meet inside my room if something important was needed to discuss.
"I'm curious about the woman you're talking about," Sid said.
"If you saw her recently, you would saw her silver eyes and hair," Meryll said.
Sid widened his eyes. "Really?"
After they sat on the couch, I showed them the white marble.
"That woman's body disappeared and turned into this marble, and I don't know why did it happen," I said.
Vaughn took the marble from me and observed it.
"That woman was mysterious. I couldn't believe how a lifeless body opened its eyes," Meryll said.
"From what you're saying, it feels a bit creepy. A dead person suddenly became alive. What's inside the room beside the woman?" Sid asked.
"There's nothing. We're late when we reached that room," Vaughn answered.
"The news about that area being closed quickly scattered around the school. They might be alarmed by the sudden actions of the headmaster," Vaughn continued.
"What would we do now?" I asked.
"There are so many places they could hide, but they chose Soul'e Magic School. I felt that it's beyond what we have seen," he said.
"So we would need to pretend a student for a longer time than I expected," Meryll said. She breathed deeply.
I laughed lightly. She does hate studying.
"They still have their portal there right? We could enter their portal, but I'm afraid there might be countless traps prepared for us," I said.
"We could only wait and look for those persons' more hidden rooms inside the school if they still have one," Sid said.
I agreed to what he said. For now, we should rest and do it tomorrow.
"I remember your contracted spirit. It's fluff, could you summon that cute creature?" Sid asked.
That made me laugh. "Okay," I said.
I summoned all of them. Elis and Ivy who is holding Fluff appeared.
"Master! You haven't summoned us for a long time," Elis said.
"I've been busy, but don't worry. I'll teach you and Ivy a few tricks next time," I said.
Ivy looked at me, still with her cold, indifferent gaze. I smiled at her. Sid swiftly took out Fluff from Ivy's arms.
I hope everything would be okay.
