Chapter 4 - Agreement

Young Mansion is now owned by someone named Shun Crow.

In the middle of the night, a small figure invades the kitchen... and from a small light from the hallway, this figure is eating comfortably at the kitchen's round table.

Shun's POV

Shun was admiring the beautiful moon in the sky tonight. He was on the phone talking to someone and giving instructions.

"You knew what you must do," Shun told the person on the other line.

"Yes, boss. The full reports are already on your table," informed Kier, the person on the other line. "First thing in the morning tomorrow, I'll set a meeting with G Company."

"Alright, that's good. I'll leave it all to you." Shun ended the call.

Kier Lawrence is a Law graduate of Harvard University. He hired him while taking up Political Science, then sponsored his law course in the US. His family owns a small law firm, and with Shun's influence, the small firm rises to the top and becomes a giant one. He becomes the private Legal Affairs Director of Shun's empire. He has many trusted lawyers in his company, but Shun is secretive and only wants a few people working directly with him, including his personal matters.

After the call, Shun notices a shadow coming down the stairs and then goes to the kitchen. He smirked, and he followed her quietly and watched her in secret.

He then decided to show himself when the young lady finished halfway.

"You should eat slowly," he told her. And he saw how her small body quivered for a moment and seemed to want to yell at him.

He picks up a clean glass, fetches some water from the fridge, and places it beside her plate.

CASSIE'S POV

She woke up in the middle of the night, and hunger struck her stomach. She felt so weak. She slowly get down from her bed and supports herself by holding the wall until she leaves her bedroom.

Cassie holds firmly at the staircase railings until she's on the ground floor.

Slowly, she quietly walks toward the kitchen. Hunger is killing her, and the good thing is there is some food nicely wrapped inside the refrigerator. She takes them out, preheats them in the oven, then starts eating and filling her stomach.

She almost finishes eating when someone talks behind her. She felt like her soul had jumped out of her body.

"Do you want me to have a heart attack?" She quivered for a few seconds, then slowly calmed down.

After moving back from France, she lived alone in this vast Villa most of the time. Her Aunt Lydia was often out of the country or staying in Mainland City all the time, and she always left home alone, which she was used to already. Now, she remembered several men staying at the Villa and was suddenly cautious.

Yet, he did not apologize. Her mind is grumbling inwardly.

Instead, she saw him pick up a clean glass and fill it with cold water. Then, to her surprise, he places it down beside her plate. Suddenly, he acted gentlemanly, but the fact that he didn't show any conscience startled her. How arrogant! He even just casually sat across the table. Cassie keeps murmuring inside her head.

She was still in a state of disbelief. A man like him genuinely thinks he is the king of the world. She pressed her lips and calmed herself down to speak up.

"I'll leave immediately after I get my plane ticket back in France," she announced. Then, she watches how the man in front of her would react.

"Who told you that you could leave?" he asked her. Now she's the one who was surprised instead.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Did I kick you out? I remembered yesterday, I did not, and I have no plan to do so..." Shun declared. "Who will serve me whenever I come home?" he added.

Her mouth dropped open. It tasted like an apple in a second, then it tasted like a rotten orange the next moment. So, he wanted to enslave her? She stays pressing her lips holding her anger.

"I learned that Auntie Ling and her husband only come here to work twice a week, leaving you often alone at home without no one accompanying you. That's not good," Shun asserted.

He continued discussing when there was no reaction from her. "Starting tomorrow, they will work six times a week," he added.

"What? Why?"

"What, why?" Shun repeated.

"Don't you want me to become your maid? Then why hire Aunty Ling full-time?"

"Did I ever mention I want you to become my maid?" Shun asked back. Cassie was growing puzzled, and so he explained. "Truly, I want you to do errands for me. Would it be comfortable for Auntie Ling to bring me tea or food with all the chores?"

She stares at him for a long moment, then nods. "Okay," that is all she could answer, and she couldn't find any words at the moment to counter his statement.

"I want you to concentrate on your studies. You'll graduate soon, and it would be best if you prepared yourself for college," Shun said, which surprised her.

She was dumbfounded. Why is he concerned about her and making things easier for her? She wanted to ask many questions, but no words came out of her mouth.

"It's late, and you still have school tomorrow," Shun gets up from his chair. He takes glances at her before he leaves the kitchen.

Cassie is left in disbelief.
