Chapter 51 - Why Was He Taken?

When Yang Yun regained consciousness, he noticed that his surrounding was dark. When he felt the wind against his skin, Yang Yun decided that it was nighttime outside.

He shut his eyes, shook his head and tried to look into the dark again. It was then that he felt the pain on his neck. Yang Yun attempted to move, but both his hands and legs were tied. He tried to pull apart the rope using his strength but failed. The bind was too tight. Whoever tied him knew what he was doing.

With a groan, Yang Yun rolled his body and tried to sit up. He tried to feel the sharp weapon around his body and found none. When he was taken, and all his weapons were confiscated, including the hidden one.

It made him wonder who his kidnapper was. Why was he taken? What did the kidnapper want from him?

For now, he was alive. His kidnapper did not kill him immediately. This means, there must be something that the kidnapper wanted from him. It means, he has a chance to escape this situation.

But after a while, his body stiffened when his nose picked up the smell of smoke, coming from the outside. He started to panic, thinking that someone wanted to burn him alive. He calmed down when he saw that the room was not on fire.

Although he could smell smoke, the building was not on fire. Or at least, not yet.

He needed to get out of here soon.

After a few minutes of struggling to free himself from the rope, Yang Yun was getting tired. Perspiration was all over his body. In the end, he decided to sit still instead of wasting his energy. Perhaps he will have his chance to escape soon. Slowly, he closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. Then, he started to count.

His ears tried to listen to the area surrounding him. Besides the sound of wind blowing, the leaves rustling and occasionally the sound of bugs buzzing, he could not hear anything else. He curled up his body because it was getting colder.

When his counting entered three thousand, Yang Yun could hear footsteps outside. Judging from the steps, he could guess that there were four people.

Soon, the people entered the room. Yang Yun had his eyes close, controlled his breathing so that his kidnapper would not think that he had regained his conscious.

He heard a muffled voice. His kidnapper was discussing something among themselves. The sound of footsteps was back; this time, the steps were going farther than him. Hearing the noise, he guessed that two of them had left the room. Then the surrounding turned silence once more. Within a few minutes, the noise returned; this time, there was a sloshing sound.

His eyes snapped open as he realized what the person was trying to do. Yang Yun sudden movement caused the person in front of him to startled.

Their surrounding turned quiet again.

Because the door was open up wide, Yang Yun could see in the darkness with the help of the moonlight. He stared at the figure in front of him and frowned. Slowly, his eyes could see the silhouette in front of him.

Although he was wearing a mask to cover both his nose and mouth, Yang Yun could still recognize his eyes.

Yang Yun swallowed before he spoke the man's name. "Vice General Fei Liu?"
