There was not much information could be found on Shadow Grass.
According to the herbs record that Han Zhengting kept for years, Shadow Grass is a miraculous herb that can help to dispel any poison in one's body.
It comes at a height range of 3 to 50 inches. It looks like any common tall grass.
But, when it grew to 10 inches, the herbs will produce a red flower with a yellow rim. This flower is what one would use to identify the herbs. Unless the flower starts to bloom, it would be hard to locate this herb.
Because of its rarity, Shadow Herbs was sold at a higher price. Its price is even higher than the high-grade ginseng! However, no one knows why it was called Shadow Grass.
Han Zhengting was one of the lucky people who get to see the herbs in its dried form. When he was younger, he had seen his master used the grass to cure a patient. It was how he knew about this miraculous herbs.
But in the old record that her grandfather had, there was something else written on it. It says that the Shadow Grass required a sacrificial.
Mingyue and her grandfather thought about this for a long time. They discussed with all renowned physician in Da Cheng, and at the end, they concluded that there might be something poisonous around the herbs.
The poison is what protecting the herbs. They assume that a lot of people had died in the process of harvesting the herbs. That is what the old record meant by sacrificial.
Jiang Mingyue rushed out of the Imperial Infirmary as her shift ended and headed straight to her grandfather's place.
When she arrived, Mingyue saw her second brother and a few others helped their grandfather to hold up a lady as she was struggling around and speaking gibberish.
Mingyue was startled. Looking at her aged face and white hair, she could guess that the woman was probably around her grandfather's age, or probably younger.
As she did not want to startle anyone, Mingyue waited at the door as she watched her grandfather administer acupuncture on the woman's body.
Then, the woman stopped struggling. After a while, she began to loosen up. Slowly, her breathing even.
Han Zhengting turned to the corner of the room where an elder man stood anxiously. He spoke something in a low voice to the other elder, and the elderly man would reply with nodding.
"You're here." Jiang Xiao Tian spoke when he saw his sister.
Mingyue glanced at her brother and turned back to the man. "What's wrong with that elder lady?"
Xiao Tian loosened his grip on the man as he was now calm. Then, he went to his sister. "According to Grandfather, a knot in her heart caused her to act like this. There are times when she would be out of control."
Mingyue continued to watch the man and her grandfather.
Xiao Tian turned towards the direction her sister was looking at. "That is her husband, Li Ran. After a while, I will let you talk to him and ask about the herbs you're looking for."
Mingyue lifted her face to her brother. Looking at the way her second brother was looking at her, Jiang Mingyue understood something. "Is that the man you wanted me to meet?"
Xiao Tian nodded. "Don't worry. He will be able to answer your questions properly after this."
