When Mingyue arrived at the Imperial Infirmary, her assistant, Xiao Ying Yi was already waiting for her.
Ying Yi bowed her head and moved her hands as she tried to brief Mingyue on what was going on in the Imperial Infirmary.
Xiao Ying Yi is mute. Mingyue and her grandfather found her during their visit to the southern part of the country. Back then, Ying Yi was still a little girl. She was only two years younger than Mingyue.
At that time, the southern part of Da Cheng experienced with draught. Mingyue had followed her grandfather, Han Zhengting to aid the rescue team. They were going as part of the physician team.
When they found Ying Yi, she was in her mother's embrace. Both of them were thin without much to eat and drink. Her mother was caught with a high fever and died. Mingyue then took care of Ying Yi and helped her to nurse her back into health.
Ever since then, Ying Yi has been following the grandfather and granddaughter wherever they go. She would observe them as they treat the patients. Seeing that, grandfather decided to teach her a thing or two about medicine.
Ying Yi was so smart that she picked up things in a short time.
They brought Ying Yi back when they returned to the capital. When Mingyue decided to stay by the Princess's side to treat her, she brought in Ying Yi into the Imperial Infirmary as her assistant.
Mingyue patted Ying Yi on her soft hair. "You did well. Did anyone cause trouble for you these few days?"
Ying Yi shook her head. Then, she started to move her hands again.
Jiang Mingyue laughed when she understood what Ying Yi was trying to say. "It's fine if they say something bad about me as long as they did not cause trouble for Her Highness or me; it will be alright."
She is mute! Not deaf! Why is it that the envious physician thinks she could not hear anything when they talk bad about Mingyue? Ying Yi pouted in dissatisfaction. She hopes that her master would do something to shut the others mouth.
They were all simply too jealous that Mingyue gets her position in the Infirmary because of her connection with the imperial family.
But after following the young miss for years, Ying Yi knew how hard Mingyue had work. She knew how much the young miss love studying medicine.
"Don't do anything to them. Let them talk all they want. Don't stoop low to their level."
Ying Yi huffed. Then, she nodded. She understood what Mingyue was saying, but still, she could not hide her anger. She took a deep breath to calm herself and followed Mingyue to the large hall in the infirmary.
When they walked in, The Head of Royal Infirmary stood at the center along with two elders. Soon, the other physicians arrived, and they all formed a circle around the elders.
