Ji Yuxian wore a jade belt around his waist. The jade buttons were designed quite delicately. Su Jiu had never unfastened buttons like that before, and so she struggled for quite some time.
They stood very close to each other, face to face. Su Jiu concentrated on the jade belt with a lowered head. Every now and then, her slender, pale fingers would brush up against his waist and tickle him.
Ji Yuxian looked down at Su Jiu, whose wrinkled brow seemed to suggest that she was facing a great enemy. Ji Yuxian raised an eyebrow. He leaned forward to get closer to her, close enough to smell the fragrance coming from her.
What fragrance is this? Ji Yuxian thought to himself. It was light and sweet, unlike any fragrance he had smelled before.
Su Jiu wasn't thinking these charming thoughts. A thin layer of anxious sweat crept onto her forehead, but the belt remained stuck as if it and Ji Yuxian were one.
