It rained again in the middle of the night, and it was close to dawn by the time Su Jiu fell asleep. She was clearly tired. The rain beat against the rooftops in a deafening cacophony, but she slept right through it.
When she woke up, the sky was already bright. The rain was lightened to a drizzle that pitter-pattered melodiously on a beautiful summer morning.
Su Jiu nestled comfortably in Ji Yuxian's arms. With her eyes still closed, she asked sluggishly, "What time is it now?"
Ji Yuxian was leaning on a soft pillow, gently stroking Su Jiu's long hair with his beautiful hands. His voice was as pleasant as the sound of the rain outside as he answered, "It's already late morning. Since there's nothing on today, you can sleep in a little longer."
"Alright," Su Jiu replied lethargically, unwilling to open her eyes from exhaustion.
Ji Yuxian gently kneaded her shoulder as he chuckled into her ear. "Did I tire you out last night?"
