I woke up the next morning, well I couldn't really sleep as I'm not used to the environment here and I had to sleep on the floor which was really hard, great now my back hurts. I sat down crossing my legs, scratching my head. I peeked into the cell next to mine and saw the same girl carving another line onto the wall. Another day huh. She turned around.
"So you're awake already." Her monotonous tone sent chills down my spine again.
"Yeah. I guess." I yawned.
" I'll tell you everything then...." To be honest I was kind of eager to know.
"So you may have murdered some people but that's not the main reason why you're here. For starters, you should've realised by now that most of the prisoners here are teenagers."
"Yeah it's kinda weird."
" That's because a small amount of the new generation possess magical energy, they call it Ena here. It's basically limited magical energy. This company called The REM agency, which is the one we are currently held captive in, is finding all the possible teenagers that may possess Ena. They found out that most young criminals these days use 'inhuman-like abilities' and thus has been posing as a police station to take in all possible Ena users. They measure the level of Ena one possesses with the needle experiment which I'm sure you experienced, and rank them according to the cells they put them in. The one we are both in is the most highly guarded one, that means that we both have the most Ena compared to everyone else in the prison. This place is called the white room."
I was shocked, unable to comprehend anything she said. Loads of questions popped into my head but I could only ask her one.
"Why are they capturing all possible Ena users?"
"That I don't know."
There was a moment of awkward silence.
"Izanami Yami-san-"
"Just call me Izanami or something."
"Fine then, Izanami why would you kno-"
The doors for both our cells burst open so suddenly my heart skipped a beat.
"You're coming with us."
A couple of guards handcuffed my hands and dragged me out. What the hell is happening? This place is full of surprises. I wonder what happened to Izanami.
We were walking for a long time I was started to wonder if we were even heading anywhere. Suddenly, I was pulled into a lift and soon we were going downwards for what seemed like forever. The lift doors opened. I was astonished. I saw lots of high tech stuff. Loads of people walking back and forth. It was nice, clean, almost like the inside of a skyscraper outside. It was a whole new world and this is underneath a prison?! I was pulled and pulled until I was in front of two red doors. The guards opened to door and pushed me in before the doors closed with a loud bang.
"Geez...about time." A white-haired girl was sitting crossed legged on the couch, rolling her eyes at me with her arms also crossed.
I looked around and saw another figure in the room. It was a brown-haired boy with his hands in his pockets sitting on the couch opposite the one the white-haired girl sitting on . I think he's sleeping.
Then I saw a familiar face sitting on the same couch as the white-haired girl with a little distance between them. It was Izanami. She was staring down to her legs with the same emotionless look.
"Looks like you're all here. " A lady appeared from behind the chair putting her hands together once. She was wearing a black leather jacket and knee-high brown boots. Her voice sounds familiar for some reason.
"Let's start with introductions, I'm Ibenashi Yuriko, head of this agency, now it's your turn, anyone wanna volunteer to go first?" She sat on the table and crossed her legs. Now I remember, she's the same women that was talking during the needle experiment.
There was a long string of silence, looks like no one wants to do it. I was about to volunteer but.
"Looks like none of you are sociable types huh. I guess I'll have to do it." She sighed.
"Alright. Let's start with you!" She pointed to the brown-haired guy who was still sleeping.
Even though everyone was staring at him, he still wouldn't budge. The lady sighed then she whipped out a stack of papers from under the table.
"Kyo Kusanagi. Age 17. Gender Male. A highly skilled ninja that has a total kill count of 24 people." He immediately woke up. He glared at Ibenashi, then went back to sleep. Weird.
"Ohoh! I'll go next!!" The white-haired girl waved her hand enthusiastically. Where'd the sudden excitement come from?
"Hi everyone! My name is Phina Shiromizu but you can just call me Phina! Let's see! Oo I'm 15 and I'm female! Um I'm really good at sniping and shooting, that's how I ended up here hehe."
"She's a legendary sniper that worked for an illegal company and went on 15 missions, killing 15 people." Ibenashi explained more clearly.
Just then, Izanami stood up.
"I'll go next." She raised her hand.
"I'm Izanami Yami. Age 16. Gender female. I'm an assassin. Total kill count 27 people." She said it simply and quickly sat down. I never imagined a beautiful girl like her could be an assassin and kill so many people in the short 16 years of her life.
With that, everyone looked at me.
"You're gonna introduce yourself latecomer?" Phina scowled at me.
"I'm Zeke Kira. Um I'm 16 and I'm male. I don't specialize in anything." I quickly sat down. It's hard to talk when you're in a room with mass murderers that have killed more than 10 people.
"His kill count is a mass murder of 13 people." Ibenashi stated.
That many?! I know there was some bodies there but at most it was 9 people, there's no way it was above 10.
" Now I'm gonna explain why you guys are here so-" She slowly walked toward Kusanagi..." LISTEN UP!!" She smacked him on the head with the stack of papers as she finished her sentence. Kusanagi groaned as he lazily stretched his arms.
"Why'd you do dat for?" Kusanagi snapped." Can't you tell I was having my good night sleep?!"
"Yea first of all it's morning and second nobody cares." Ibenashi shot back. The rest of us just nodded our heads at the same time.
