(Writer notes please read.)

single quotes like 'this' means thoughts.

{This means it's on a book or list.}

"A car crash is quite unfortunate. It is very sad. You had just gotten a promotion and were still so young. I think I will give you a second chance." An old man wearing a pure white toga and long white hair with a white beard said.

"Who are you?" Marcus Smith asked the old man. Despite the fact that he had just been killed in a 70 mile per hour car crash, he was unscathed and in no pain. "Where am I and why am I here?"

"Number one, I am the creator, or God. Number two, this is what you would call the afterlife. And number three, you died." His voice was smooth and held wisdom and knowledge. "That is not the only reason I have come before you. This car crash you were in was not supposed to result in any deaths, but you barely got pushed over the line of life and death. You have been dead too long In your world so I decided to give you a second chance in another world. This world is much like the video games you played in your life. There are classes, skills, levels, and stats. As an apology for your early death, I also want to grant you one ability of your choice, no matter how strong."

"I can choose any ability?" Marcus raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. I will give you time to choose. But remember this, based on what you choose will affect in what level of society I place you in. If you choose the ability to control life and matter itself, you will be born into a sickly peasant family. Choose wisely."

Marcus thought hard and scratched his head. He thought and thought for five minutes until he finally raised a finger. "I know what I want. I want a maximum level ability of 'Fear'. I want the power to instill fear into creature of any level."

The creator nodded. "Very unique. And because it is a less powerful technique, you will be born a noble. I hope you make the best of your new life.

Marcus woke up into a new body in a new world. He was now a nine year old noble named Zachary Maximilian.

"Master Zachary! It's time to wake up. You have sword training with your big brother.

"Coming." When Marcus reincarnated into Zachary, he retained all his memories as Marcus and remembered all the memories of Zachary as well.

Zachary dressed then opened the door to a lady dressed in a maid uniform. She had long brown hair and a great big smile plastered on her face. Zachary walked past her and headed out to the training grounds.

'This will be a good chance to test out my Fear ability.' Zachary thought to himself.

The training grounds were flat fields with no grass on it. Zachary grabbed a wooden sword from a bucket of them and walked to his older brother.

"Hi Zachary. Are you ready for your training." William was ten years old and had short blonde hair. He held his sword in front of him and prepared for battle. Zachary walked to him and held his sword in stance.

William dashed forward and began to swing, but Zachary activated Fear. Malicious energy burst out of Zachary and pulsed out in waves. Will froze and shrieked. He fell to the floor and scraped away with utter terror spread across his face. His pants became wet with urine and he passed out.

'That worked a little better than I thought, and that was just barely releasing it's power. If I unleashed the full power of Fear, I could kill a whole city with heart attacks.' Zachary put his sword away and walked back into the house.

Zachary walked into the kitchen and asked one of the maids, Mary, a question. "Excuse me Mary. I was curious, how do you look at your level?"

"It's quite simple. Just will it to happen or say stats in your mind."

'Stats.' Zachary said and a status screen popped up in front of him. There was a list of every thing he needed to know.

{[Zachary Maximilian] Class: N/A

'10,000?! That is really high. I'll have to see the comparison to standard strength.'

"Hey Mary?"

"Yes Master Zachary?" she squatted down to his eye level.

"What is the highest level any human has ever reached?"

"The highest level in official record is 348. That's really high, and was achieved by a great hero that could defeat anything. The average adventurer gets to level 30 or so before they grow too old to continue."

'This is overpowered. I can make anything bow to me in fear.' Zachary pondered his power and moved subject. "When can I become an adventurer?"

Mary looked taken aback before she smiled again and replied. "You must know that you are a noble and must not stoop to such dirty work. You won't need to make any money with how much we have."

"I don't care about the money. A Noble's life is boring. I want to get out and explore."

"Very well. To become an adventurer, you must know at least two spells and be able to pass a physical test."

"Thank you for this information." Zachary grabbed a hard boiled egg from his plate and ran off to the library.

In the library, he searched the shelves for books on magic and spells. He found one and began to read.

{Before any magic is attempted, you must first learn you affinity and know the basic types. There are five basic types to magic: Water, Air, Fire, Earth, and Null. The first four require you to have that type's affinity, but null can be use by anyone.}

'Interesting. I must learn my affinity.'

{To learn affinity is quite simple. You must grab a sheet of magic paper and hold it between your palms. This book provides magic paper on the next few pages. If the paper burns, you have affinity to fire. If it becomes damp and soggy, you have affinity to water. If it becomes stiff and solid, you have affinity to earth. If it begins to float on it's own for a second, you have affinity to air.}

Zachary ripped a piece of magic paper out of the book and held it in his palms. 'The outcome of this will determine what class I pick.' The paper became stiff like sheet rock. 'Earth, huh. Earth is defensive and slow. This will help as a paladin. I usually played tanks anyway.'

{Fire for beginners is on page 3. Water is on page 5. Earth is on page 7.} Zachary flipped though the pages to the Earth section. {Earth magic is mainly used to shield and strengthen defenses. In this section, you will learn a simple yet very useful spell called Earth Wall. To practice Earth Wall, you must first know how to manipulate Mana. Once you do that, you put your hands on the floor and insert Mana into the Earth while saying 'Earth wall'.}

'Let's try this.' Zachary grabbed the book and walked to the training grounds. He found an open space and set the book down.

Because of his memories from Zachary's side, he already knew how to manipulate Mana. He laid his hands on the ground and began to flow magic in.

"Earth Wall." Zachary said and a wall of dirt about 4 inches thick and 7 feet tall sprouted from the ground. Zachary saw a pop up in the corner of his eye.

{Mp 3/4

Exp +10

New spell learned: Earth Wall.}

'Nice, but I have so little Mana. How do I get more?' Zachary walked back into the library and grabbed a book on basic magic. He flipped through the pages until he found something he wanted to know.

{To increase your Mana, there are three different ways. One is to increase intelligence. Two is to upgrade it directly once you reach level 5. Three is to practice magic over and over.}

'How do I level up quickly?' Zachary put the book back and searched once again. He grabbed a book on adventuring and leveling up.

He flipped the page to a leveling up sub section.

{The best way to level up is to complete quests as an adventurer or defeat lots of monsters.}

'Time to farm then.' Zachary put the back back and left the library once more. He snuck into the armory and grabbed a sword, then snuck back out. He left the property and ventured into the forest.
