"Pret," sheens of elongated metal echo amidst the silence.

Riposte! Lunge! Recover! Her mind chanted, reciting the words that were implanted into the neurons of her brain, engraved there for eternity. Her muscles were burning ablaze in protest, involuntarily complying to the commands that electrified her movements. Everything was ablur, yet so clear! Advance, Attack, Guard!
Five seconds into the final bout and she was already wavering to her opponent. The squeaking of their shoes were prominent and fierce, a dance of two lethal weapons with just as belligerent opponents. She could practically invision the leer set on his face! The meer assumtion rejuvenating her spirits, rekindling the inferno of her desire to win.
Push Harder! Faster! Stronger! That's what she was, disadvantage or no disadvantage. Sweat was pouring into her jacket, concealed by her Lamé. Glistening over the jolts of adrenaline that pumped and surged throughout her body just below the skin as she advanced.
However, Cécilia ended up cussing in regret, hissing as she felt the jab of her opponents Sabre slice just above her upper torso once more. That made the match 15 to 13, she had lost.
"Je gagne!" Cécilia overheard him whooping in accomplishment, disdain filtering and clouding her mind. She scowled as she watched him pump his fist in the air as a sign of his victory. Adrien, the pain in her thorax, a cocky now-it-all, and the fencing teams captain reigning in the glory of his own victory.
Adrien remained relishing in his triumph. High-fiving the guys as he made his rounds among the team. The boys congratulated him with pats on the back and fist pumps, howling "Adrien!" The commotion of it all jostled and hyped the winner even further. He had yet to notice his opponent sulking all the way to her inadequate locker room, which lacked usual necessities for a fencing member.
It payed to be the only girl on the school's Sabre fencing team.
