*UNEDITED*
Red Light District - Two hours later -
Desire, if it's something you desire then you will surely succeed. Since you will without fail work hard for it and ensure it doesn't slip away. from your grasp. But in his case, even though it was right within reach he didn't take that single step forward.
Rhys sighed, what is he doing? Every single time it looks like they'll be making progress, it ends up becoming like this before long. Then again, what kind of progress does he expect to make with her? Lyn is a married woman now. She can't fool around with him like she did before.
Even though it happened a long time ago, didn't Lyn say she wanted to be with him?
'If I were to belong to someone, it would be Rhys.'
'I'd like to get to know more about you.'
'So are you going to leave me just because of this.'
Those words even now they still remained imprinted in his memory. She genuinely meant them, even if she may not understand exactly what she meant by those words. The fact of the matter is she meant every single word she said about belonging to him. About wanting to get to know him more and about wanting to stay beside him. She doesn't push away his advances either, she reacts at his touch and almost burns. So vulnerable under his arms. Yet it ends up like this each and every single time.
She isn't to blame, it's his fault. Even after he makes the decision up to become serious with his advances towards her. Even after they make progress, he ends up going a few steps backwards after a little while. It's like there is something in his heart that is completely unsettled, the feeling that if he does become serious.
That would mean letting his guard down and not being able to sense the dangerous near her. He has a bad feeling. For awhile now there's been something weighing down on his mind, that something will go wrong.
Currently as it stands she has more then enough protection. So what is it? What is it that makes him feel so uneasy? Lyn is no longer the same as before, she is the Queen of the Mist Kingdom. She is not the same person she once was. Rhys understood that after watching her.
"It's been awhile since you last showed yourself. And your slouching around?" A familiar voice said.
His gaze lands on the direction of the voice. He saw a man with teal coloured hair wearing a lavender and purple print flower kimono.
"Leave me be Ralph, I'm not the mood."
This person who decided to interrupt him is none other than Ichinose Ralph.
Ralph chuckles. "Here you are in the red light district. And yet all your doing is slouching around and drinking sake on your own? Why not call some lovely ladies? There are plenty who would love to be of service to you."
"Don't even joke that." Rhys mutters.
The red head was fully aware that since he came in, he was generating enough stares and attention. Since quite some time has passed since since he last came to a place like this. Before he would be seen around frequently.
All of that changed when he freed Mel and became closer with Lyn. He found himself sticking to her even more. Each time they would get closer and closer to each other.
Ralph sits down and places his fan to the side, " Indeed, your not that sort of person anymore. Only thinking about one girl, your fans will cry."
"Shut up, your ruining my peace." Rhys snapped. He came here to brood. But now that this guy is here, Rhys knew he won't be able to drink in peace.
"You mean your sulking parade? Don't mind me, I'm just taking a seat."
His eyes twitches in sheer annoyance what's with this guy? Ralph is even more annoying then usual. For some reason he found himself getting irritated quite a lot whenever he saw Ralph. He doesn't even have to say a useless comment, to make him mad anymore.
Once in awhile, he would find himself unexpectedly shiver whenever he saw Ralph. It feels as though there's something he has forgotten concerning this man, though he can't trust on his instincts alone.
That's why for now, he will still treat him like normal. Rhys suddenly gpy up. "Oh? Done already?"
"I'm done sulking. It's time to express my anger now."
"Scary indeed." Ralph trailed off. "You better head back though, I heard the Mist Kingdom officials found her."
Wait what? Rhys eyes widened when he heard those words. "Idiot!" Rhys snapped. "Why didn't you say so sooner?"
"I thought you would figure out why I came here."
"Like hell." Rhys replied and immediately rushed down the hallway.
'Damn, why did he chose the top floor of all places? Then again he chose this place so he wouldn't be tempted to go back. His eyes twitched in annoyance when he heats the sound of a female refusing.
"N--no! You misunderstand I'm not one of the ladies here."
"Like I can believe that with the way your dressed. I know what a courtsean is."
'Damn. Why do annoying things like this happen?' Rhys thought. He was in a rush, he wanted to get there before the elders got to Lyn. Rhys knew they would drag Lyn back by force. But isn't that for the best? A part of him understood that when she crazily chased after Kazuya and left her Kingdom behind.
Even if Lyn missed Kazuya, Rhys didn't think she would be irresponsible and leave the Kingdom behind. He knew how strongly Lyn felt about the throne and the people. So why would she leave? Rhys didn't understand it very well.
He would walk away and ignore this to go to her. But if Lyn knew he abandoned somebody like this, she would get mad. 'Aaah.' He silently screamed in frustration before he burst into one of the rooms.
