". . I wonder how Kazuya is doing... ." Lyn murmurs, as the two of them sat down on the slope.
"Have you not spoken to him for a while?"
"Ah, yes. I become somewhat lonely and depressed when I don't speak to him for a long time. When I do, I end up doing crazy things like cooking all night..."
That explains why there's so much food.
"Could you not call him?"
She should at least hear his voice before - before she gets kidnapped. Ayah could at least allow this much.
"No, I won't because right now Kazuya is in the midst of putting an end to everything. That's why until then I will not meet with him nor speak with him."
'Ending' is Kazuya going to put an end to his engagement with the Sound Kingdom Princess, or perhaps he will dump Princess Lyn? The latter factor is impossible, though. Because although she does not know much about love. It's clear as day to anyone that those two are in love with each other.
"Princess Lyn, I've always been meaning to ask. About the burden, you carry on your shoulders.'
"Ayah, your surprisingly talkative today."
"My apologies."
Is she suspicious? Ayah still didn't know what to think of her; the only reason why she came along is because of Rhys anyway.
Lyn shook her head, "No, I'm relieved." she said with an all too familiar smile on her face, it's the same. The same as that time. "Thay town and where Kazuya is currently at, as well as several others all belong to my family. At least once upon a time, they all belonged to my family; after the incidence, it was distributed amongst the other noble elite. But even now I still see those places as areas I have to protect." she trails off, "That place is great, you know? It's filled with many people, sights, and sounds. . . The very epitome of a prosperous and lively city. It brings a sense of comfort in you.
But for light to exist, there has to be darkness. If no one were to protect that darkness, everything would just come crawling down. The burden I carry is that of the combined darkness of all these cities. I wouldn't say it's the reason for my existence because not even I have a reason for that. But it is a source of my strength."
Ah. She can't; she definitely can't do it now, not after hearing all of this. Lyn, she's filled with light - she's always smiling happily and bringing joy to everyone. But she's also the most lonely person out there; she also embraces the darkness as the light.
Is this the reason why people stick to her? The reason why they don't leave her side?
"Ayah?"
"Princess Lyn, I'm sorry... I...I'm the traitor... Please tell everyone when we get back, I'll tell you everything and then you can decide what to do with me."
She can't do this any longer. It hurts too much to betray this person. Even if she doesn't like her, she could not do something as shameless as harming her this way.
Ayah could feel the tears falling desperately from her eyes. Feeling her tears being wiped away, her eyes went wide. "Princess Lyn....?" Ayah spoke up, confused.
"Very good. At least you can say my name. It's alright Ayah, I already knew."
"Did Rhys..."
"No, I knew before Rhys told me about it. I found out by mistake. I thought you were acting strange and decided to follow you around. Although it was supposed to be a secret spy plan - I didn't think you'd be up to something."
. . How come? If she's known this entire time, then how come she can still smile like that? How come the Princess still accepted her.
"I don't deserve your kindness. Please stop; your kindness is suffocating for me. I, don't like you either," Ayah knew all these words were pointless in front of her. But she still said them anyway.
"I won't because even now I think of you as a precious friend. The fact that you came out and told me just now just proved that you think the same even up until now right?"
At that comment, her eyes went wide.. . Ah against this person, she really can't win.
Princess Lyn continued patting her hair, "There there, it's alright to cry. But Ayah, remember after you wipe all those tears away to smile. A smile is the best medicine they say."
Ayah didn't get a chance to say anything when she sees the smoke where they had set up camp.
"Princess Lyn! We have to hurry, they - they tend to kill those soldiers."
Is it because they know she broke her promised?
"Right! It sounds like a serious case---" Lyn's sentence fell short when a blade cuts her cheek. Ayahs eyes widened in alarm.
Before she knew it, they were surrounded by people wearing black shadow clothes. Rather the only one they surrounded was the Princess, "Sorry, but we will be taking you back with us Princess Lyn," the man in front spoke.
Ayah immediately stepped forward, "Wait a minute—!"
"Ayah is it? We heard your little declaration nice and clear; I'm guessing you don't care what happens to your family.."
No—! No. That's not it. But it's too late now, all she can do is help Princess Lyn. Ayah raised her hand, and a familiar glow emerges from her palm. But that glow vanished immediately when Princess Lyn stopped her.
"Ayah, don't help me."
Wait; what? Don't help? Ayah frowned, what is this woman thinking? Shouldn't she be begging for help? Can't she see how dangerous this situation is? However, the woman didn't seem phased at all; in fact, Ayah could see her lips curve to a smile.
"Hey you guys, if she doesn't help me out and leaves me. She still sticks to her end of the bargain no?"
"Indeed. Lady Ayah may have revealed her identity, but it does her more harm than us. Very well, as long as she doesn't intervene, then we will not say a word to Master. Yen, stand front Miss Ayah."
At that comment, the person in the ninja mask stepped in front of her. He grabbed hold of her from the back. Ayah immediately recognized him, one of Luke's servants. She flinched, does Luke know? If his servant is here then surely that is the case, even if she wants to be stubborn and help Princess Lyn - she won't be able to do anything now.
