Jessica was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't even realise where Austin was taking her.
She looked at Austin and asked in surprise,
"Why here?"
"Didn't we agree a while ago?" he said in nonchalance.
"Yes we did. But you told soon. You never told we were going to meet them now," she said.
Austin stopped his car in front of Jessica's home and the gates were opened for them to enter inside.
"Austin !!" she said and held his hand tighter.
"Do you even know what you are doing ?" she asked him.
"Trust me, nothing's going to happen," he assured her.
"But still ..."
He place his index finger on her lips to stop her from talking further.
"Let's go," he said and opened the car door.
She got out of the car reluctantly and walked behind him taking small strides.
"Good morning, Mr. Olsen," Austin greeted Jessica's father politely.
John Olsen, Jessica's father was reading newspaper when they arrived.
"Good morning, Mr. Ames. I thought you both were coming in the evening," he said looking at Jessica who was hiding behind Austin.
"Have a seat," he said to Austin.
"You.Go and call your mother," John said to Jessica l.
Without delaying she rushed into her mother's room.
"Mom .....Mom where are you ?"
Jessica called her mom, Lucy. Her mother was talking to the head maid and the chef about the menu for tonight.
Jessica saw her mother standing in the corridor.
"You are here, why didn't you just tell me when you clearly heard me calling you," Jessica was slightly pissed.
"Why were you calling me? Didn't you tell that you'd come in the evening," her mother replied curtly .
"There's something I need to tell you, just listen to me for ...."
"Wait, you listen to me first Jessica," her mother cut down her words.
Jessica was taken aback looking at the way her mother was talking to her. Her mother was always sweet to her, her father too.
"Did something happen?" she asked her mother.
"Didn't Austin tell you anything when he met you last night ?" her mother questioned her.
Jessica's face turned pale, she thought that her parents were angry because she hid the truth from them. She was clueless about what Austin did in his absence.
She shook her head in surprise and said ," he didn't tell me."
Her mother sighed and said, "the reason why your father chose Jake was because he thought he was a nice person. But he turned out to be a jerk."
Jessica's mother walked to her bed and sat on it, she continued talking about what happened in the last few days.
"Your father understood you weren't ready to get married and he didn't want to put pressure on you after knowing that you fainted. He called Jake's father to cancel their agreement."
"What agreement ?" Jessica asked Lucy.
"It was a deal between our company and their company. I don't know what the deal was about, but as far as I know Jake's father planned to gain profits taking your father's help and using you as a bait," Lucy answered.
"Your father agreed and was ready to give everything they wanted for your sake. He thought Jake was perfect for you but he was wrong. After knowing your situation your father decided to cancel the marriage and the deal they made. Jake's father agreed to it but asked something in return for their loss as a replacement to you," her mother said.
"What did they ask ?" Jessica questioned her mother.
"Half of our profits in your father's new project," Lucy answered.
"What? that's crazy," Jessica said in shock.
"Yes, but they said that it was very less when compared to you and your father being a man who'd keep his word agreed to it. But thankfully Austin came at the right time and helped your father from giving half of our company profits," her mother who was depressed until now had a small smile on her face while saying about Austin.
" Austin ?" Jessica asked her.
" Yes, the last three days he was working with your father. He called his subordinates and other officials to deal with the situation and helped us to give them the amount of money they wanted after the situation got normal, your father asked Austin, how could he return his favour. Austin's reply was short but straight." Lucy continued after pausing." He said, that he wanted us to give our daughter to him and promised us that he would make you happy."
"Your father was startled to his words but Austin told us that you both are in love and after thinking for a long time, your father agreed to you both happily,"nshe said looked at Jessica who was to tears.
" Why did you hide your relationship from us? If only you told us about you and him, this wouldn't have happened," her mother said coldly.
Jessica wiped her tears that ran down her cheeks and said." It has just been a week since we started to date. I never wanted to hide it from you both. I just needed time."
" Is it ? "Jessica's mother asked her and saw her nod as a yes.
There was a bright grin on her mother's face , taking her daughter's hand in hers she said." I'm happy that you chose a person like him."
" Thankyou mom," she said and hugged her mother when the maid knocked the door to call saying, both men were waiting for the mother and daughter to come down.
When Jessica was getting down from the stairs her eyes were fixed at Austin who was talking to her father but her gaze was caught by him as usual .
Austin got up from his seat to greet Jessica's mother.
"Good morning Mrs. Olsen," he greeted her.
"Please Austin, don't be formal. I can excuse you now but you have to call me mom next time we meet," Lucy said to Austin.
"Sure," he replied.
Jessica felt like her heart would explode out of happiness. Her parents accepted their love too and the last person who should accept them is Austin's mother Alicia who is her Idol too. That moment she just prayed that everything should be fine between him and her.
"We have to leave now," Austin said to her parents.
After taking leave from her parents they left to their office.
Jessica stared at him since the time they got into the car. Austin knew that she was staring at him, he also knew that her stare was different. While going to her home, her eyes looked as if she wanted to ask him something but now she looked at him with her eyes filled with love.
"If you want to thank to me then don't ...."
"I'm not," she said cut down his words.
" Good," he said and saw her looking at him, he didn't understand why she was looking at him in that way, whenever he told her that he saw her looking at him, she always looked away to hide her face. But now, she was still looking at him. His face was expressionless but his ears turned pink and she noticed it this time.
She cleared her throat to cover her smile that took place on her face after seeing his pink ears.
"I want to take a leave, take me to your house," Jessica said softly leaving him speechless.
