"Are you sure?" I asked and covered my mouth when she nodded with a yes to my question. My homeroom teacher came to the class and started to teach without any delay in time.
There were three rows in the class. Austin and Justin were seated together in a bench on the right side and I was seated with Rachel on the left side while the middle row was occupied by other students.
The class was going on when I had few quick glances at him secretly which was caught by none other than my friend, Rachel.
"Enough now, you are looking at him as if you want to eat him right now," she murmured and looked at green board.
"Justin is looking at you," I lied and started to copy down my notes.
"Huuhh?" she said and looked at him my cousin. She couldn't see his face clearly.
"Your guy is blocking my view. I can't see him now," she said.
"Then at least let me enjoy," I said and continued to look at Austin.
After the first class, we spoke to the students who were seated behind us. They were really sweet, not like our old classmates who always had a scowl face.
"I miss Cindy," Rachel said to me.
"I know right, I wish even she was with us," I replied.
"Cindy said that she likes someone and asked me to help her, did she tell you?" I asked her.
"What? She didn't tell me and when did she tell you?" she questioned me.
"During summer holidays. I asked her who it was but she said she would show me," I answered after I recalled the day Cindy had phoned me.
"I'm going to help her," Rachel grinned.
"She asked me not you." I snapped.
"So what! I don't care, I'll help her," Rachel shrugged.
We went to Cindy during our lunch hour to meet her. As always she was busy and didn't even have her lunch. Rachel fed her food and I helped her to clear the mess in the cupboard.
"I thought I was your friend Cindy but you disowned me," Rachel said dramatically and curled her lips.
"I can never do that Rach," Cindy said in a soft tone and didn't understand what Rachel had implied.
"Oh really? you told that you like someone to Jess but not me," Rachel huffed.
Cindy laughed and said that it wasn't a serious kind of crush and tried to divert the topic but Rachel was adamant to speak to Cindy.
"No, no if you like him then go and tell that you like him," she said.
"By the way who is he?" Rachel asked with curiosity.
Cindy hesitated to tell that person's name. I could see the change in her expression. It was as if she was nervous and afraid.
"That's alright, Cindy, we will help you even if you won't tell his name," I said.
"No, it is not like that, I will tell you both, one day. It's just that ....."
"That's alright, girl. We understand," Rachel spoke and smiled.
After lunch hour, we came back to our class.
"Where did you go ?" Justin asked me after he blocked my way.
"We went to meet Cindy," I answered.
"Why are you so interested in us ?" she asked which made him smile.
"You," he said softly.
"Oh!!" was her only reply to his answer but I knew that she didn't expect his answer and blushed.
I don't know what had happened when Rachel stayed at his house for few days. But since then, the way they usually talk has changed now. I don't know how but I guess both of them knew that they like each other but none was ready to express it.
"Why don't you tell him that you like him," I whispered to her after we both sat in our bench.
She chuckled.
"I'm happy that atleast he doesn't dislike me, all these years I thought he didn't like me."
"I always told you indirectly but you never listened to me," I replied while shrugging.
"Bleh!" she just stuck her tongue out.
