*Ker-Clack*
The door opens again but this time, Cindy steps in.
Cindy: How're you feeling now?
Mia: Better. Thanks for letting me stay here.
Cindy: Pah, don't mention it.
She waves her hand with an annoyed expression. Is she really that annoyed about me staying here..? Though I guess anyone would be.
Mia: I'm really sorry for showing up so suddenly, I-
Cindy: Don't blame yourself! Blame Jason.
Mia: I'm not too sure about that.
Cindy:... Stupid ass ruined my date.
She mummers to herself and sits down on the chair Jason kept near the bed..... Did she seriously call her brother a stupid ass..?! I have no siblings so, I don't really know what it's like..
Mia: U-Um, so... What exactly happened yesterday?
Cindy: Well...
Yesterday Night...
Cindy's Boyfriend: You know, you look really beautiful today.
He smiles seductively at me while playing with my hair and I smirk back.
Cindy: Really? Well-
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
Both:..!!!
Somebody suddenly starts banging on the front door. Wh-Who the heck?!
Cindy's Boyfriend: Should I go check it out?
He looks at the door worriedly. I'm about to nod when...
???: Open the damn door, Cindy!!
Oh my God, I can't be wrong about this voice..!
Cindy: Jason?!
I get up from the couch and run over to the door. I fling it open to see...
Jason: I need your help!!
Jason's standing outside with a wound on his face and in his arms is an unconscious Mia, both soaked by the harsh rain.
Cindy: What the f-
Jason:...
I'm about to curse but he glares at me.
Cindy: -risbee..! What happened to you guys?!
Jason: Do you mind if I come in?!
Cindy:... Yeah, actually that's what we should do first.
I let them both and hand him towels.
Cindy's Boyfriend:... I'll get going.
Cindy: Huh? So soon?
He walks to the door and I follow after him.
Cindy's Boyfriend: You have some family stuff to deal with, I don't think I should interfere.
Cindy: Okay then, see you tomorrow.
He goes to kiss my forehead but stops. Huh? I follow his line of sight to see Jason glaring at him while drying Mia's hair. Ugh, this guy I swear..!
He squeezes my hand instead and leaves. I close the door and as soon as I turn around..
Jason: Why was he in your house? Is he your boyfriend? Does he go to the University with you?
He keeps firing me with questions and I sigh. Really?! He has to play 'Elder Brother' card RIGHT NOW?!
Cindy: That's not important right now! Tell me what happened!
Jason: Right! We were in the middle of... something and she passed out. I-I touched and she was burning up! I didn't know what to do s-so I just brought her here!
... Not even a minute ago, he was talking to me like a responsible, calm, NORMAL older brother and now he's in full panic mode. I turned 18 not too long ago, is this how adults should behave?
Cindy: What happened to your face?
Jason:.. I fell down. We can deal with later! What should I do about her?! I mean what's is something happens to her?!
He starts to blabber nonsense. Wait, his face looks a little pale, This is bad! He shouldn't panic!
Cindy: Calm down! Did you have your pills?!
Jason:..! No..
Cindy: Then what're you waiting for?! Go take them, I'll check on her!
He takes the small medicine box from his bad and goes to kitchen to get some water. I check Mia's temperature with the back of my hand. Her fever's pretty high. I should probably change her into something dry before it gets worse.
I take her to my guest room and help her change her clothes. Hm, she's so thin, does she even eat anything? I should give her some medicine to bring down her fever.
I walk to my medicine cabinet and Jason comes out of the kitchen with a glass of water in his hand.
Jason: Do you have anything for a headache or something like that? I think I may have a slight fever too.
Cindy: Yeah, I'll check.
I open it and rummage through the strips of medicine.
Cindy: Found it!
Wait, there's only one. How am I going to give it to them both?
Jason: What's wrong?
I show him the medicine strip and he furs his brows.
Cindy: I could go get some from the-
*Rumble!*
Both:....
We look outside the window. Thunderstorm. Great! There's nothing more that I'm afraid of than these! No, wait, I'm afraid of Mom the most... Ugh, that doesn't matter.
Jason: Should we split it?
Cindy: It's too small to do that.
Jason: We could dissolve it in water and share it.
Cindy: But how will she swallow it?
Jason: Well...
His cheeks blush. Wait, don't tell me...
Cindy: Oh, hell no. You ain't doing that.
Jason: Would you do it instead?
Cindy:... You know what? You go.
I'm not going to... kiss a woman! He dissolves the pill in water, takes a sip and leans down... You know what? I ain't watching this part. I advert my eyes and return to the medicine cabinet. I take an antiseptic gel tube out and go back to them.
I notice Jason standing outside the room, stroking his lips. Ew, gross.
Cindy: You look like a pervert doing that. What's so great about just feeding your girlfriend medicine mouth-to-mouth?
Jason: Uh, well...
Cindy:..?
Jason: She.. She's not my girlfriend.
Cindy:... What?!
Jason: Don't yell!
He motions towards the unconscious lady in the room who's squirming uncomfortably.
Cindy:...
You've got to be kidding me. My innocent brother is now a pervert?!
Cindy: You have to tell me everything!
Jason:.. Fine, but not now.
I turn to look at Mia sleeping on the bed, her eyebrows crossed. They only said that they were friends, so what in the world happened? As though he's just realized something, he turns to look at me dubiously.
Cindy:..?
Jason: So, who was he?
... Seriously?
Cindy: Give me a break.
Jason: Where are you going? I haven't finished talking to you yet!
I toss the tube at him and head to my room....
Mia: Um, you're spacing out.
Cindy: Huh? Oh, nothing much happened.
She snaps back to her senses.
Mia:...
Cindy: Anyway, you're not leaving until you get better.
Mia: But-
Cindy: No buts!
Mia:...
Woah, it's like she's the elder one here! I mentally sigh.
Cindy: You adults are really troublesome, y'know.
She knits her brows.
Mia: Um, sorry..?
Wait, why am *I* apologizing? It's not like I meant to pass out in the middle of the alley! She fumbles around with her thumbs. Is something bothering her?
Mia: Is something wrong?
Cindy: Huh?
Mia: You seem troubled.
Cindy: I guess I could talk to you about this.
She nervously rubs her palms together and leans forward.
Cindy: I've been dating this guy for almost 5 weeks now but, we really haven't done... 'it'. I thought it was high time we took the next step so, I invited him over yesterday.
Mia:...
Yesterday... That's when we came in.
Cindy: Things were just getting heated when Jason interrupted us. I mean I'm not saying that he shouldn't come here, he had no choice at the moment. What bothers me is that we were finally getting towards 'it' and now, I'm not sure if it's going to happen again.
Mia: I see. Frankly speaking, I have no experience with that but, making love-
Cindy: 'Making Love'? Who still says that?
Mia: You see, I'm trying to make a point here.
Cindy: Ah, right. Go ahead.
Mia: It doesn't have to define your relationship. It'll happen sooner or later.
Cindy: Hm, I dunno about that.
Mia:...
Cindy: Anyway, about Jason, it's so difficult to have a brother like him. Most of the time, he can't handle the situation and gets all over the place.
Huh. My impression of him is quite different though. Except for yesterday, when he really was panicking.
Cindy: He crashes at my place whenever he feels like! I mean, I make him do all my housework when he's at it but still!
Pfft, looks like she has a lot to complain about.
Cindy: I save his life and that's how he treats me?
She complains and leans back in her chair. Wait, what?
Mia: What do you mean 'saved his life'..?
