The river was a cold beauty under the glow of the moon it appeared picturesque like a work of art in a museum.
The river stretched long past the ominous Dark Forest and despite the lurking dangers that surrounded it.
The waters were tranquil and peaceful, with any conflict having long been resolved now at the dead of night…
It was not until a wild Red Goblin driven mad by hunger appeared ruining the tranquility of the river by appearing before it and leaping out rom the cover of dense trees.
Diving head first into the cold river below while madly chanting.
Jack: "Meaty, Cheesy, Salty, Sweet I want to…" - (*SPLASH!)
A loud splash echoed throughout the Dark Forest alerting everything nearby of its presence without a care in the world.
The Red Goblin happily stared down at the water below, it submerged half his body soaking the green fur waist cloth that kept him warm.
The mad Red Goblin unhinged its Jaws opening its mouth wide to an unnatural degree.
Exposing his razor sharp shark like rows of teeth, before dunking his head in to swallow as much water possible.
The gurgled gulping noises that could be heard beneath the water echoed throughout the Dark Forest before it swung it's head back to breathe.
The Red Goblin's long wet black hair whipped back as Jack took in a large breath of air before breathing out a long satisfied sigh.
Jack was full and his belly was bloated with water but his craze for hunger had yet to subside.
Jack had regained a small measure of reason from filling his belly but was still unable to fully control his actions or focus on anything other than eating.
Jack unhinged his jaw again and started shoveling water inside his mouth with his hands chugging down large quantities of unclean tasting river water.
Jack felt sick and had a painful stomach ache from all the water he was drinking so he did not dunk his head in like before.
Despite his best efforts to control his desires Jack could not stop himself from drinking the river water due to his insatiable hunger.
Completely distracted by the feeling of hunger Jack was ignorant to the presence of a swarm of Blue Ants nearby.
The Blue Ants were feasting on the carcass of a Red Bulky Deer with metallic antlers on its head and catching any unlucky fish that came their way.
Upon noticing Jack's loud entrance into the river they immediately became hostile and directed their attention at the Red Goblin.
Jack was too busy indulging in his hunger to notice the horde of Blue Ants that were making their way through the river.
The noise of Jack rampantly shoveling water into his mouth muffled the sound of the approaching Blue Ants swimming towards him.
Jack remained unaware until he was able to clearly hear the strange noises they were making over the sound of him chugging water down like a mad man.
Along with the swishing of water there was the sound of slime being slathered over something and constant movement.
Jack stopped shoveling water into his mouth and curiously turned away to look at the approaching noise that was rushing at him.
Jack was confused to see a strange Blue Wall growing larger and larger with hints of a slimy green color squirming and shifting around within it.
Upon closer inspection he noticed that the strange Blue Wall approaching him was not a wall at all, but a wave made of the same blue Insects he killed earlier at the Goblin Cave.
The horde of Blue Ants approaching slithered and crawled over one another to form the bizarre formation of a Blue Ant Wave.
Had Jack not been driven mad by his gluttony he would have been frightened or shocked by the incoming wave of insects and tried to avoid getting swarmed.
But instead of fear or self preservation Jack's mind and body were filled with glee at the delightful surprise of what he considered to be food instead of danger.
Jack stood tall against the Blue Ant Wave fearless and excited with arms spread wide as if ready to embrace the incoming wave of death with a hug.
Hie smiled wide and activated his Blue Claws skill and began madly chanting again.
Jack: "Meaty, Cheesy, Salty, Sweet I want to Eat!"
Jack: "Meaty, Cheesy, Salty, Sweet I want to Eat!"
Jack continued his happy chanting unflinching and seemingly unfazed by the meters tall wave of Blue Ants.
Jack was thrilled, happy beyond joyful that his prayers to Eat! Were finally being answered.
When the wave was just a few seconds away from clashing Jack broke out into a maniacal laughter ready to fully indulge in his mad obsession for hunger.
Jack: "AHAHAHAHAHA! EAT!"
Jack using the great strength of his legs and lower body jumped out of the water through sheer force alone and launched his entire body like a wrecking ball directly into the Blue Ant Wave!
Jack: "AHAHAHA!, Ark!- (CHOMP!)
Jack laughed maniacally as the Blue Ant Wave crumbled and broke apart from the impact of his assault.
He began slashing away at the swarm with his Blue Claws and unhinged his jaw to chomp down on the random severed body of a Blue Ant to eat.
With every slash and swipe of his Blue Claws a trail of sliced Blue Ant chunks would follow and spray out Ant blood and their rancid green goo that slatehred their bodies would cover the surrounding area.
Jack was too busy chewing the Blue Ant in his mouth to continue laughing but even with his face stuffed and his cheeks full Jack still smiled maniacally.
Jack having broken through the wall of Blue Ants that blocked his way landed on the other side of the river with a loud splash as his body crashed down.
Nothing but the sounds of frantic Blue Ants swimming and crawling to regain composure could be heard as they splashed around the river.
As Jack finished chewing the piece of Blue Ant still in his mouth before swallowing it down.
Still hungry for more Jack charged at the scattered horde of Blue Ants trying to reform the Blue Ant Wave.
Jack: "Meaty, Cheesy, Salty, Sweet I want to Eat!"
Jack relentlessly hacked and slashed away at the closest groups of Blue Ants he could sink his claws and teeth into.
The Blue Ants struggled to resist the onslaught of Jack's ferocious attacks but failed miserably at their futile retallitation.
The sounds of their dying screech and fleshy tears of goo and blood muffled by the splashing of fallen carcasses filled the midnight air.
As their mutilated and torn apart carcasses fell into the river Jack would pick up a drifting piece to eat with one hand and slice away with the other while stuffing his face.
Every time Jack Slashed away with his claws the tearing of flesh would be followed with the dying screech of a Blue Ant.
The Blue Ant blood and rancid green goo would splatter on him drenching him in a layer of thick grotesque substances filling his nostrils with their rancid smell.
Giving Jack the appearance of a river monster as it tainted the rivers water color in blood goo and fleshy Ant bits that were left intact from his attacks.
Jack had not even bothered to focus his attacks and was just wildly swinging his arms into the crowd of Blue Ants while he happily downed another piece of Blue Ant meat.
With every punch and smash a satisfying crunch or squish noise would be made as Jack's curled glowing blue fist would break through the Blue Ants exoskeleton and crush their bodies into mush.
Occasionally Jack would bite down on one or impale one with his claw to take a bite off it before slicing away at the rest.
His mouth would always be full making him unable to chant or laugh as he killed and cut down every Blue Ant in his way.
But despite a full mouth Jack still managed to muffle out his mad ramblings.
Jack : "Mhwee, Kwephy, Zwahe, Shwee E whan wo Whe! / ("Meaty, Cheesy, Salty, Sweet I want to Eat!")
Jack was not obstructed by the trail of carnage he left in his slaughter of the bugs because the river would sweep and wash away any blood, goo and, Blue Ant guts along with there mutialted carccases with its current...
Half an hour would go by and without pause Jack continued to tear apart any Blue Ant that approached him and eat their remains happily.
Despite countless dozens of Blue Ants being cut down their numbers seemed never ending and Jack couldn't have been any happier as it meant more food was coming.
Everytime Jack cut down or bashed a group into mush a new group of Blue Ants would appear immediately after.
The Blue Ants that appeared before Jack were a distraction used to buy time as the Blue Ants had been able to form small organized groups to relentlessly attack and keep Jack constantly busy.
While the larger swarm of Blue Ants organised.and maneuvered around Jack while he ate the small groups.
Jack had almost choked on a Blue Ant chunk he stuffed into his mouth when a group of Blue Ants somehow circled behind him without noticing and attacked.
A group of six Blue Ants jumped onto Jack's exposed back slamming the full brunt of their weight into him before sinking their small teeth and madables into his flesh.
The sudden stings and small push surprised Jack at first as he coughed out the minced Ant food in his mouth and for a split second his sense of hunger was overwritten by danger.
But he found it more amusing than painful and couldn't help but laugh with his mouth still full as the chunky remains of the Blue Ant he was eating fell out.
Jack: "Pfff hmph hmph!" / ("Pfff Haha Haha!")
Jack could not take them as a serious threat and to him this whole situation was more like playing with his food than a battle for survival.
He spun his body around quickly shaking off four of the clinging Blue Ants but two remained latched onto his back.
Their pathetic mandibles and puny teeth had not even pierced his skin or caused any bleeding and instead left a minor pinch sensation on his body..
Annoyed Jack reached out his arms to grab the pair still latched to his back too crush them.
But before he could another group of five Blue Ants approached head on while the four that he shook off earlier tried to flank him on both sides.
Jack: "Grrr".
Jack charged back at the largest group of Blue Ants in front of him more annoyed for being disrupted than for their attacks.
Jack reached out behind him to grab one of the latched Blue Ants on his back by the head and forcefully yanked it off breaking its lodged mandibles off.
It screeched in pain before I crushed its head between my grip and used its headless body like a club to slam it down on the first Blue Ant to lunge at me next.
(*Crack!-*Squish!)
The impact crushed the lunging Blue Ant killing it instantly as it was swept away by the river along with the headless carcass of the Blue Ant Jack tossed away.
The next pair of Blue Ants that followed lunged at me and with a clap of my hands their heads were squished together, exploding into a gory mess between my fingers.
The fourth Blue Ant to attack me was killed with a right swing as my fist slammed onto the side of its body sending it free falling into the air as it disappeared behind the expanse of trees within the Dark Forest.
Before I could kill the one still clinging to my back, the last Blue Ant in front of me lagged behind the group approaching me slowly almost as if deliberately trying to stall for time.
The more I ate the more control I felt over my hunger, before I could slash or bash the slow Blue Ant with my claws.
I noticed something different about the approaching group and that they were much larger than the smaller organised groups that attacked me before.
The four Blue Ants I flung away earlier flanked me on both sides with two on each and lunged at me sinking their small teeth and mandibles onto my arms before I could attack.
My hunger and focus to eat made me completely forget that I didn't kill them and simply flung them away.
Jack: "Tsk! Annoying Food!"
I chopped at the last Blue Ant in front of me cutting it in half straight down the middle before purposely falling back to kill all five of the latched Blue Ants on my body to crushi them under my weight all at once.
A glow of pink healing light illuminated the area of water I was submerged in.
The little blue fuckers managed to draw a little blood this time before they died each nicking off a tiny piece of my skin and flesh.
When I got up the small pains from having bits of flesh chewed off from my arms and back were gone.
But I felt a little tired making me wonder if having the seed with me in this fight was more trouble than it's worth.
Before I could worry about being drained by my healing seed I was greeted with more large groups of organised Blue Ants ready to lunge at me.
The approaching Blue Ants crowded my reasoning by whetting my appetite and making me focus only on eating again.
Jack: "Food!"
The small army of organised Blue Ants rushed at me in unison practically throwing themselves onto me in a suicidal charge relentlessly without fear or hesitation.
Jack responded by cutting them down and stuffing his face but unlike before he was unable to happily consume the Blue Ant in his mouth.
Jack now needed both of his arms to fend off the horde that collided against him in a frenzy of slashes and bites.
Not only was the group this time larger but even their attacks seemed more ferocious and desperate as if they were hopped up on drugs.
I shredded and tore away at the Blue Ants but instead of screeching out and dying like usual a few cheeky fucks still tried to bite at me.
Some without a body and some without a head not to mention this time around all the Blue Ants were not only larger but more plump than the usual groups before.
The horde of Blue Ants in front of me actually managed to press on and overwhelm me making it impossible to eat them and indulge in my hunger.
No matter how many I killed or cut down their attacks were never ending and much greater in number than before attacking at every given opportunity and opening.
I was unable to hold them all off with every group attack a Blue Ant or two would slip by my grasp and unlike before these Blue Ants could actually tear away at my flesh with their teeth and mandibles.
Every Blue Ant that slipped by would bite and nibble off a piece of me or latch on until they were promptly killed forcing the healing seed to activate with every bite and tear.
The injuries were minor but being continuously healed was a bigger problem than the actual damage I was taking as it continuously drained my stamina...
They were too many of them and Jack had failed to realize their goal the Blue Ants in front of him were not trying to kill him but instead were just stalling for time.
Keeping his attention away from the two large swarms that were collecting on each end of the river.
Jack's attacks and strength were beginning to slow down and fade away giving the Blue Ants more opportunities to attack.
Making the Healing seed involuntarily heal and exhaust Jack with every glow of its healing light.
Jack was sweating and breathing heavily as the mad smile on his face became sour and hateful as he continued to slash and hack away at the incoming horde of Blue Ants.
Jack driven by his hunger and frustration at the constant harassment of the large organized groups of Blue Ants.
Jack was too focused on eating and killing as many Blue Ants in front of him possible that he did not see the meters tall Blue Ant Waves that were forming ready to engulf him in a tide of death.
They came in one after another never ending and each time a Blue Ant group would approach they would be cut down by Jack but every time it would take slightly longer than before.
Jack could not rest or focus and his desire to eat and being unable to fill that desire drove him mad with rage.
No longer viewing the Blue Ants as food but as annoying pests.
The strain of being constantly illuminated by the light of the healing seed which acted more as a nightlight now then a benefit.
Made it hard for Jack to continue on the offensive unimpeded as his panting became a wheezing and his body became drenched in sweat.
Jack became lightheaded and his body felt heavy he was unable to go on the offense and for the first time since their encounter.
He stopped approaching the incoming group of Blue Ants and went on the defensive choosing instead to fall back by moving backwards to avoid getting bit while he cut the Blue Ants that approached him down.
The hunger made Jack unable to fully comprehend the gravity of the situation as he viewed the struggle for life and death as more of a chore now than a threat to his life.
Jack would not try to run away so long as his hunger drove him to eat.
Jack would stay and fight until all the food was eaten and every Blue Ant was dead…
