This chapter of the story will be taking into the perspective of Jeon Junghyun. This will help us better understand him.
My name is Jeon Junghyun, the second son of the Jeon family. My family is one of those prosperous families that you would see, constantly on the tv by various people or companies advertising our glamorous life. We didn't get this far without the hard work of my parents. My father grew his company from the ground up, he had to work for tremendous hours to ensure that everything was as it should be, at least I would even feel bad and want to offer my help. My mom was already famous in her hometown of Busan at that time, a small town model looking patiently for her big break in the entertainment world. During our difficult times where we were uncertain about what we were going to eat the next day, she would be the one to put food on our table. They made sure that we had all we need and never needed a case to whine or moan about anything. We went to the very best of schools even when our account was in arrears, my dad manages to convince the school that we would be able to pay the money in the future, luckily we knew the principal so he approved, but I knew it was always bothering him especially during governing body meetings, he really pulled a lot of strings for us, that is the way we are forever indebted to him.
I love them with all my heart and always wanted to be just like the both of them, strong with a willing spirit to never give up, something that my day would always say to us, 'never stop still you can't' or 'fight till the last breathe'. I would try my best to do good in school to at least put a smile on their faces and make them proud. I would stray up late studying, going to extra classes after school even though I didn't seem to be getting the work through to my head. I could swear I and school were mortal enemies. In spite of all my issues with school, one thing always brought joy to me and that was IT. Computers and various types of machines always baffled me, how they work, what makes them do that. It was all a never-ending quest for me, not like I wanted it to end.
I always saw myself as a carbon copy of my dad, we were both go-getters and we both knew what we wanted. I would be so excited to dress up like him on days we had events to attend as a family, one day I dressed up like him for career day at school, the other classmates thought I was crazy for doing so, I actually didn't give a damn, they were just jealous that I could dress to impress, but he was my greatest motivation, and my support. I brought both my parents to my schools' show and tell one time and explained all the wonderful reasons why I loved them. I thought I was the one and only in their eyes but then there was another: my older brother Jeon Jungkook.
Jungkook was 5 years older than me and as much as it was amazing to have an older brother like him, he was smart and very intellectual especially in terms of business complexity, he looked after me well, always telling me the truth even though I sometimes didn't want to hear it. He was handsome in every way, with broad shoulders, nice abs, muscles, cute and also sexy with a perfectly symmetrical face, he has a mole at the bottom of his lip that was very tempting, I remember how I would stare at it and wonder how it got there and why I didn't have one so I could be handsome like him. He was every bit of a perfectionist in every way like that older brother one had or wished they had. In no way does this mean I'm doting over him, I just like to appreciate all the nice features in people.
In my father's eyes, he was the ideal son. He was good in absolutely everything and looked good doing it too. I knew clearly that with him around I stood no chance in the family business which I later grew to understand and let go of, I was the complete opposite of him and it didn't bother me at first, I enjoyed it, it released much of the stress in my life...that was until I met her, the only woman who made her way into my heart. Her name was Lisa...Lalisa Manoban and was every bit of a woman I wanted and needed. Her height was amazing.
Lisa made her way into my life through my brother. I can clearly remember the day she walked into our house. She had dressed in a gorgeous red dress with black polka-dots. The dress had a side slit to it, which exposed her long, slender legs. Her hair was long and she had a bang to it. Her hair was a shade of light brown which perfectly contoured her face, she had such a lovely smile and the way her cheeks would light up whenever she smiles was just beautiful and I knew I was hooked on her. I fell for her even at my young age.
My happiness was short-lived as I knew she was here for my brother. I felt like everything didn't matter anymore as she couldn't be mine well at least not yet. The way she would put her arms around his arm as they smiled at each other, they looked like a married couple in their full glamour.
The way she would laugh and smile at Jungkook's jokes made my heart sore, I wish she was doing that with me. that day was the saddest day of my life, I couldn't eat cause all I could hear was how they met and are now the very best of friends. I never knew about their childhood friendship because one, I never paid attention to my brother's life as I was too busy trying to build mine, I never felt the need to and second I hadn't met Lisa still now apparently she was away studying as well or I was definitely too blind.
Jungkook clearly only saw Lisa as a friend but it was evident to me that she liked him a lot. After many months of cooking my feelings inside for Lisa, I decided to tell her, I can remember the day as though it was yesterday.
It was a rainy summer afternoon, Jungkook had been away studying abroad and she hated it, every day it was a constant cycle of asking when was Jungkook coming back if he was okay, how sure are they that he ate that night, dammit she acted as though she was his mom or even better his wife, she might as well have taken that role, but I would be her husband, then I can finally put that brother of mine under me. Lunch went particularly fast, and I couldn't like it more than that, she was standing across the big, glass sliding doors that led to our front patio where all the flowers were planted, it was located on the outskirts of our main entrance, you could say our house was indeed like a mansion. She had opened it allowing the cool airflow through her, the rain was peaceful at that time, which set the mood, the only thing I needed was for her to say yes to me.
There I crept slowly standing beside her, I stole a small glance at her side view and looked amazing, I couldn't hold it in anymore it was now or never.
"Lisa...can I ask you something?" I asked her, she was hesitant at first but then she gave me a small smile while looking ahead, after some time she turned her face towards me and I swear I was an inch close from nose bleeding due to her beauty.
"Yes, Junghyun...what's the problem?" her voice was soft and sweet, just like honey running down my throat,
"I don't mean to pick into your life, but what relationship do you have with Jungkook?" I took every inch of courage to ask her that. At first, she looked shocked that I asked such a question, but she shook it off and gave a cute but yet sarcastic laugh.
"Ohh, Junghyun...you are so cute. I and Jungkook are best friends, we have known each other for years now, but I know that he loves me, but he is just being shy about it. I will give him sometime then he will open up to me."
Yet again I had to hear my brother steal all the shine once again.
