Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

Kristie P.O.V

"Hey Kristie could you help me lift this box?"

"Hey Kriss-kriss mind helping me train for a bit?"

"Kristie!!! Can you teach me the recipe for the meal we ate last night?"

"Kristie, are the papers finished?"

Left and right people would ask for my help. Don't get me wrong I don't hate it, in fact, I really really like it. no matter how big or small the matter is, it still feels nice to have people trust and depend on you. I never knew things would become like this ... it makes me so happy.

I feel like I truly am a part of the pack now. A few months ago, everyone seemed sad; the house would be quiet enough that I heard some humans ask if anyone still lives here.

Why? Well, when almost half if not more half of the pack left, it was as if life itself was taken away from the pack. Of course, if your family members leave, who wouldn't be sad?

Things started to liven up when.... Truly I don't know?! But I think it may be because of Connor. He sort of acts like a stronghold for the pack now.

When things seemed gloomy he would crack a lame joke which actually makes people smile because of how lame it is and how epically fail he looks like cracking one. When everyone seemed discouraged after long hours of training, he would put on a determined look and continue training even harder than before, it made the others want to go along and train with him.

There are so many more things that he does but if I were to state them all, I don't know when it will end. I might use up all the paper and trees in the world and it still wouldn't be enough.

If I were to put it in a children's storybook type of sentence, he would be Mr. Sun who always says good morning and we would be the family of sunflowers asking of Mr. Sun would come back tomorrow again. From dusk till dawn we sunflowers would look at Mr. Sun and chat all day long. At night, when Mr. Sun can't be seen we would be facing all directions not knowing where to look.

Wow... is that actually deep? Haha sorry I didn't mean to make it deep. I just wanted to tell you all how much Connor actually helped us.

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

A cry sounded through my head. Devon?!

I rushed up the stairs to his room not bothering the stares I was receiving as I passed by the other pack members. I didn't care!!!

Its happening again!!!

Devon P.O.V.

I'm in that place again. A forest, a castle, with everyone. There were a lot I didn't know, but they were wolves as well. We were all looking at the sky. Cloaked in red by the last light of day.

Then It was gray, almost back. Everything was being cloaked by a thick layer of fog. There was no sunlight, I could barely see anything.

Screams. There are people are screaming everywhere.

What's happening?! What's going on?! What's there?!

"Rose?!!! Connor?!!! Kristie?!!!

Where are you?!

Dad?!! Mom?!!!

Someone?!!!!"

The screaming continued. Things, things are flying up there!!!

I felt something cold and scaled brush past my leg. Almost like a tail.

What was that? Something rolled on the floor and hit my other foot.

A severed head... D- DAD?? DAD!!! Father!!!!!

"OH GOD. GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!!"

Running, I was running I don't know where. I tripped and fell on... something I don't know I don't want to know.

In front of me... a wall. No a door! The castle!!! Inside, inside, I have to get inside. It's safer here.

"Graaaaahhhhh!!!!" a monstrous growl echoed from behind me. I looked back.

It was a... I-I don't know!!!

Its supposed to be human I think. A girl but her arms were bat wings with fang-like claws on its tips. Half of her face's skin ripped off. Yellow eyes with red pupil turned slits. Her hair was white but due to the amount of blood on it you'd think it red. Her chest and legs covered with raven black fur. 7 black scaled tails about 12 feet each.

That was no longer human or anything for that matter. She wasn't the only one there. behind her was a creature only seen in horror films.

A 6 feet wide full grown adults head. But due to the rotting and damage. You might not even recognize it as one anymore, it was supported by 6 legs connected to the back of the head... no they weren't legs they were arms, human arms. Its teeth were sharp and held someone, in it... open close, open close, it chewed on its victim, blood spatters down in heaps.

Bile rose from the pit of my stomach but pure fear held it down.

The girl... she was pounding on an invisible field just outside the castle walls, with her tails. I was holding her off but I knew it wouldn't last long as I could already see ever growing crack marks branch out.

I ran again. Up the stairs, 1 floor, 2 floors, 3 floors... soon I reached the 10th and last floor panting. I was at the rooftop. The top of the tower where a gigantic bell was hanging. Grabbing the thick rope I yanked on it hard.

Its sound rang through the land calling... no warning the others, signaling that we have failed.

We failed? In what? Why do I know that?

I looked down...

Demons. Beasts. Monsters.

There was no one left.

The grotesque creatures all looked up at me... Their eyes were like voids, spiraling into nothingness, they were gates to hell. They're coming closer. Closer

"Come. Lean in child~ it'sssss alright. You belong with ussssssss"

"De- n?!!!"

" DONT LISTEN!!! focusssss on ussssss. We can make all thisss pain. Dissssapear."

"Dev-n?!!!"

"Devon??!! Devon??!!!" I opened my eyes.

"It was only a dream don't worry." Warm arms embraced me into a hug as she rubbed circles onto my back.

"It was just a dream." Tears, tears fell from my eyes like waterfalls though they stayed wide open.

"It's gonna be alright, I promise."
