Chapter 4 - Chapter-4

The next day, when the dawn was yet to arrive Alane woke up haggardly with his eyes blood red and face wet with tear strains. Last night he saw a dream, a dream about how his parents and his clan were massacred few years ago by few masked men, how he was sold as a slave.

Last night while he still in that trance like state, his memories completely integrated with each other.

Feeling depressed he went out of his house, his heart was heavy with negative emotions such as Grievience and hatred.

In this world if you can't stand on your own then you'll only be trampled by others.Even the people with low cultivation would have right to trample you. This dog eat dog world follows a simple logic of 'might makes right'. Here there is only one law and that is the law of jungle. Here the strong devours the weak and that in itself is justice.

Walking aimlessly and being still immersed in his own chaotic thoughts. Slowly enthusiasm and determination filled his heart. He felt that he had undergone a miraculous transformation since the last two days. Maybe he can also embark upon the road of cultivation like others due to his gluttony.

Alan wanted to test his hypothesis so he started running at his top speed. At this moment his heart was filled with trepidation , worried that everything that happened since the last two days were his misconception and illusion. He was worried that his dream of cultivating will once again be shattered.

Soon he was in ecstasy, as he managed to run half the distance to the top of a mountain with a single breath. Even though he was breathing hard, he wasn't choking like he used to in the past. This was a remarkable difference when compared to before.Thinking about his future prospects he returned back to his house.

After some time when was about to go and grab something to eat before starting his chores. He door was opened and a badly bruised Jack entered his house.

"Hey Jack what happened to you, why are you so badly bruised? "

"Nah, it's nothing. Here, this is some black bread that I've stashed away. Go ahead and eat it. Because I wasn't able to wakeup early this morning. I was in a rush and accidentally bumped into Bach. He beat me up !"

Alan violently bit off a piece of bread as he looked at the green bruise circling Jack's left eye. He spoke furiously, "Bach hit you again. He's too full of himself. Come, let's go get revenge!"

Jack hurriedly jumped up in fright and restrained Alan using his body weight. He exclaimed, "Shura, are you crazy? Aren't we already used to this, by now? Bach has already completed the flesh training and is an outer clan member! It's not the first time we've been beaten up, it's good enough when he leaves us alone. What revenge can we get?"

Alan laughed coldly, "Don't worry, I've got my ways"

Alan bellowed as he proudly dragged Jack out of his house. The blood within his body seemed to churn faster!

On a whole, martial students tended to wake up early in the morning and would rush to get ready, hurrying to the practice Hall so as to practice. Jack was about to lose it and was completely unwilling to participate, but his fears dissipated when he listened to Alan's plan. In the end, Jack finally agreed, as he remembered that Shura was doing this for him. After all, was he less of a man than Shura?

Many gigantic trees were planted on either sides of a path made of rocks.

One of Alan's daily task was to clear the leaves scattered across the road. He had been doing this since the past two years. Only after the completion of this arduous task was he allowed to take a break for food.

As he worked, looking ahead through the dust he saw a bushy-mustached statue, he was none other than the ancestor of Xiao clan, Alan turned to Jack and said, "I say Jack, wouldn't it be nice if our statues could be erected like that some day?"

"Shura, don't be silly. We're just slaves! It's enough that we get a full meal and not get beaten up everyday. How could we possibly have statue for ourselves? "

"well I heard that white tiger martial school every year recruits young talented people who have reached primary level of tier 1martial stage, so what'd you say shall we try joining it"

"Oh… Bryan, you are definitely different. You would never have had such crazy thoughts before and wouldn't share such a bad idea!"

"Why not?"

"We must have a lot of potential to be recruited by them and We have to pass through countless levels of training and tests, even kids from noble families may not become a martial artist. This is impossible for us commoners. Oh, I forgot. You're also a slave without freedom and you also don't have martial talent, that's even worse, there's no hope for you at all!"

"Hah, let's not talk about that. Look, second young miss is walking this way, let's get back to work!"Alan eyed Xiao Feifei who was the second young miss of Xiao clan limping towards them from afar, and thought that at least Shura had something to show for his two year of running errands for the clan — he knew the daily routines of some of the people.

Xiao Feifei usually woke up later, and most of the time, slowly plodded to the training hall alone. Today was no exception. She was dressed in a black robe today, with her long, soft, raven hair strewn carelessly across her shoulders. It seemed that she hadn't  gotten much sleep the previous night, as she kept yawning as she walked.

Xiao Feifei was quite pretty, but maybe because she hadn't completely finished developing yet.  Since she was only 16, her chest area was not as well rounded. Rumor had it that Xiao Feifei was also very displeased with her flat chest and had recently been searching for solutions.

Alan and Jack surreptitiously watched Xiao Feifei approach as they continued to dust off the statue of the Xiao clan's ancestor with all seriousness. They muttered to each other as they worked, seemingly oblivious to her presence.

"No way, Shura you must have misheard. How could Bach have said that about second young miss?"

The two had been murmuring quietly when Jack suddenly raised his voice and exclaimed in surprise.

Xiao Feifei had been walking along absentmindedly when she heard someone mention her name. Her attention immediately zeroed in on that statement as she looked warily in front of her.

All girls wanted to know what people said about them behind their backs and Xiao Feifei was no exception. She even went so far as to hide behind a huge tree , so that the two wouldn't see her and become too afraid to talk. Her ears perked up as she sneakily snuck glances at the two.

Alan smiled vacantly and said, "No I didn't mishear, on their way to training hall, Bach was telling the other outer clan members that second young miss's chest was as flat as stomped bread!"

Jack had to hold back his laughter with all his might as soon as he heard this. His face grew red and his body kept shaking.

On the other side of the statue, Xiao Feifei's face darkened with rage. Her pretty eyes shot out glares of wrath as her cute lips convulsed and her pearly teeth ground audibly. She trembled with rage for a few seconds and quickly stomped off in a huff towards the classroom building.

Jack could no longer hold in his laughter as he watched Xiao Feifei hurry off in the opposite direction, her face purple with anger and out for blood. "Hahahaha…." he expelled all his frustrations with an explosive bout of laughter. He laughed as he said, "Shura, you're too evil! Even us servents know that Bach likes Xiao Feifei and that Xiao Feifei hates people making fun of her chest. Looking at how she was just now, Bach is totally screwed!"

Alan gave a sinister cackle as he immediately put his brushes and broom away. "Forget about dusting off the sculpture right now!Let's go watch the show!"

Little fatty Jack tucked his training clothes, with a grand gesture, into the cloth bag at his waist as he took Alan's advice. He laughed, "Let's go, I want to see Second young miss beat Bach up. Serves him right for hitting me this morning!"
